Wasn’t that Huo Yao?
Did she just co out of the laboratory?
Jiang Mingyue looked puzzled. The Life Science and Biotechnology laboratories were on the third floor of the building. She was a Bioinformatics freshman. What was she doing here?
Just as she was wondering, the silhouette vanished at the end of the corridor.
She was so preoccupied that she did not even hear what Mu Qing said over the phone.
After Jiang Mingyue snapped out of her shock, she cleared her throat and walked over to the other end of the corridor as she asked over the phone. “Mu Qing, what did you just say? I think there is a bad signal at the lab, so I did not catch you.”
Mu Qing did not think otherwise. He simply answered. “I am busy tonight, so I can’t have dinner with you. Sorry about it.”
Jiang Mingyue got to the laboratory that Huo Yao had just exited. Despite her disappointnt on hearing Mu Qing’s answer, she did not insist. “It’s fine. We can do it so other ti then.”
“Uh huh. I will buy you dinner to make up for it,” said Mu Qing.
Jiang Mingyue nodded and said, “Since you are busy, I shall not hold you up.”
After hanging up the phone, Jiang Mingyue placed her phone in her pocket and raised her head to glance at laboratory number five. She could not wrap her mind around what business a freshman could have here.
Jiang Mingyue pursed her lips and moved her eyes. She decided to stop thinking about it and turned to head back to laboratory number one.

After Huo Yao went downstairs, she went over to the teacher in charge and inford him she was done using the facilities.
The teacher was clearly caught by surprise. “Are you done already?”
Most students spent at least an hour, or several hours, or even all day in the laboratory if they applied to use the facilities to research things outside their usual scope.
It was the first ti he ever saw a student co out after less than 30 minutes.
Huo Yao nodded. She retrieved the registration book by the side and filled in her na in the last column.
Specific records were kept for all use of the laboratory equipnt.
After leaving the laboratory, Huo Yao thought about the test results of the blood sample as she headed back to the Biology departnt.
Since the university’s blood analysis equipnt could not compare to the ones at the hospital, she could only co up with a set of general results. Huo Yao pondered before she took out her phone and sent a text ssage to Lei Xiao.
She wanted to see him.
By the ti Lei Xiao saw her text ssage, three hours had already passed. He had just walked out of the laboratory and his eyes were sunken and tired from working. His chin was covered with stubble.
The mont he took his phone and saw the text ssage, he rubbed his bloodshot eyes and looked at it in disbelief.
The genius finally took the initiative to ssage him!
Lei Xiao instantly felt invigorated and forgot about his exhaustion. He hurriedly replied to Huo Yao asking her when to et.
After sending the text ssage, he held the phone nervously and did not even bother to change out of his laboratory gear. He was terrified that he might miss the ssages from her.
Since it was already slightly past 4:00 pm, Huo Yao was already ho. After she received a reply from Lei Xiao, she simply asked if he was free now. Once he confird he had ti, she blatantly asked him to et near her place.
She did not plan on buying him dinner.
Huo Yao proceeded to send him the address. Although it was so distance from the research institute, he did not care. He was delighted to see Huo Yao and could not care less about the distance.
One of his colleagues who had been stuck in the laboratory for three days working without rest was standing beside him. The mont he noticed the change in Lei Xiao’s attitude and how energetic Lei Xiao was, he was startled. “Xiao, what happened? Did you get so good news or sothing?”
Lei Xiao stood up from the chair and took off his laboratory gear as he bragged. “That goes without saying. Soone just asked out for dinner.”
His colleague was still single, so he could not help feeling hurt hearing this.
What a stupid show off!
