Huo Changfeng did not stay for long. He made an excuse that he wanted to take a look at the school and left the chancellor's office.
The chancellor wanted to show Huo Changfeng around, but he refused the offer. The chancellor could only send soone else to take him around.
After they were gone, the smile on the chancellor's face finally disappeared. At a close look, sweat was oozing from his forehead.
The chancellor turned to look at the cheque on the table and held it. He suddenly felt moved. Sure enough, there were lots of charitable people in the world.
He sponsored an entire laboratory block without a second thought.
Before long, the chancellor thought about the things Huo Changfeng had said to him and called the assistant. "Soone fell into the lake yesterday. How did the investigation go?"
The assistant had just gotten back. He hurriedly said in a reverent tone, "When I went to the hospital yesterday, I was told that Lu Xia was already discharged and taken ho by her family. I'm not alone, even the cops can't get in touch with her. As for her ntal health, the hospital was unable to confirm this."
The chancellor frowned. "Does this an you couldn't find Lu Xia?"
"That's right. Her records were very basic and her parents' address column was left empty." The assistant spoke in a puzzled tone.
In theory, this should not be the case.
The chancellor pressed his temple.
He knew why Lu Xia's records were incomplete. Lu Xia had co over at Qiao En's recomndation.
If it had been a student with average performance, he would never allow this. However, things were different since she ca at Qiao En's recomndation.
Qiao En would never have accepted a student with ntal problems, so there must be more to this.
The more the chancellor thought about it, the more worried he got. "Does the victim who fell into the water co from any special background?"
"I don't know either. The teacher from Tsing University is very adamant about the matter. He's very insistent about getting an explanation from us," said the assistant unhurriedly.
"Their students got into an accident here, so they naturally want an explanation from us." The chancellor pondered and asked. "Is Prof Qiao in the lab today?"
"Let call and ask." The assistant took out his phone and made a call.
Before long, the call got through. The assistant said a few words and looked at the chancellor. "The professor is in the lab now. Do you want to see him?"
The chancellor reached his hand out and gestured for the assistant to pass him the phone.
Before long, Qiao En took the phone from his assistant and asked the chancellor. "Yes?"
The chancellor cleared his throat and said, "I wanted to ask about Lu Xia. We're unable to get in touch with her."
Qiao En seed to expect the question from the chancellor. "She got in the way of the wrong people. You can delete her records from the school system imdiately and pretend that we never had such a student."
The chancellor was promptly puzzled.
He knew that Qiao En had a backer. Even if his student had offended the wrong people, he could effortlessly help his student if he wanted.
Now, Qiao En not only refused to save his student, but he also could not wait to cut ties with her. Judging from Qiao En's reaction, the victim who fell into the lake yesterday must have had a powerful background.
The chancellor could not help thinking about Mr. Huo who had just left. He would not have brought up the student with a ntal problem out of the blue.
Was he here because of the victim?
Qiao En frowned as he waited for the chancellor to continue speaking. "Chancellor, is that all?"
