684 Lucifer Downfall

— anwhile - Qing Empire Imperial Palace —

In the vast hall beneath the Imperial Palace, Pride worked diligently to decipher the blood magic ritual circle. Atlanteus and Hers assisted her, helping restore the damaged sections of the intricate design at her request.

"That guy is a real piece of work, isn't he?" Pride remarked to Hers, who was focused on repairing part of the broken magic circle.

"Yeah… Hephaestus has always been a bit… unconventional. Rember the ti he crafted a golden throne for Lady Hera, only for it to trap her in place for years? That might have been his way of lashing out. It wasn't entirely his fault, though—he's always been obsessed with gaining knowledge. But I think Lady Hera's rejection pushed him further down that path, intensifying his obsession. It's almost like he was trying to prove sothing to her," Hers explained, his voice tinged with sympathy. He has a little bit of sympathy for the god of forge situation.

Being Zeus' son, but not Hera's, Hers endured bitter glances and malicious comnts from those who should have shown him love. Hers couldn't help but empathize with Hephaestus, imagining the pain of rejection from one's own family.

"Prove sothing? More like exacting revenge, if you ask ," Atlanteus muttered, snorting as he prepared materials to repair the magic circle. "Zeus, Poseidon, Hera—all the Olympian gods—they're all real pieces of work. Er… no offense," he added, glancing at Hers.

"None taken. I know exactly what you an," Hers replied, not breaking his concentration on the damaged circle.

"But I'm curious, Lord Hers," Pride began, her tone hesitant.

"Curious about what?" Hers asked without looking up.

"About you… I an…" She hesitated, carefully choosing her words. "Aren't you also a trickster god? You know… playing pranks and…"

"If you're asking whether I've done questionable or morally flexible things, the answer is yes. I've done plenty of things I'm neither proud of nor willing to boast about. It's part of my domain," Hers admitted.

"What do you an?" Pride asked, intrigued.

"I an that as a ssenger god, I'm also the patron of rchants and thieves, a trickster, a guide of souls, and the god who created alchemy. Gods are deeply influenced by their domains—they shape who we are, often compelling us to act in alignnt with them. My domain of alchemy, however, brings clarity. It makes appreciate talent, ingenuity, and innovation," Hers explained thoughtfully.

"So that's why you sided with humans during the war between humans and gods," Atlanteus interjected.

"That's right. Humans, with their short lifespans, live quickly. Their ingenuity and innovations are greater than other races, and their creative minds have always fascinated . Their progress satisfies deeply," Hers said, smiling warmly, like a teacher proud of their pupil's success.

At that mont, Pride felt sothing stir within her. A surge of power suddenly erged, and she regained both a portion of her lost power and all the lifespan that Lucifer had stolen from her.

"Huh? This…" Pride looked down at her hands. The mana she sensed was no longer nearly depleted, and she wouldn't need to rely on Daniel's Chromatic Philosopher's stone as a substitute anymore.

"Don't tell … Danny beat the sh*t out of Lucifer and forced that bastard to return my lifespan!?" Pride exclaid in astonishnt.

But then, a chilling realization struck her… did this an Daniel was in Lucifer's Abyssal Realm?

She needed to inform Teacher Envy imdiately, and Koyuki too. If not, that hotheaded girl might storm into the Hell Gate on her own!

With this thought, Pride excused herself from her work and stepped aside to make a phone call.

— Lucifer Abyssal Realm —

With all of his wings torn apart and thrown to the crowd of demons surrounding him, chaos erupted. The demons imdiately began fighting amongst themselves, each vying to get a taste of Lucifer's blood, flesh, and bone.

It was well-known that the essence of a higher demon lord, such as Lucifer, the Hell Lord, was an unparalleled source of nourishnt for demons. Even a single drop of Lucifer's blood could significantly enhance their power. Twelve wings' worth of his blood, flesh, and bone was a prize beyond asure.

The chaos intensified as the demons—Lucifer's own underlings—completely ignored their master's plight. They fought relentlessly, driven by the desire to claim the spoils of Lucifer's torn wings.

"Stop! Stop fighting! Co help and kill this human!" Lucifer commands his demon underlings in desperation.

But this ti, his voice fell on deaf ears. His demons no longer heeded his commands. All they cared about was the prize they coveted at any cost—his wings.

Moreover, much of his power had been dispersed with Lucifer's wings torn away. Weakened and vulnerable, Lucifer no longer inspired the fear and awe he once commanded. Even if the demons weren't preoccupied with their infighting, they wouldn't have obeyed him.

Now, they had seen their master's weakness. Their fear had turned into contempt and, for so, even bloodlust. The only surprising thing was that the demons hadn't turned on Lucifer himself, seeing him as prey.

"Oh? Didn't you tell them that I'm your prey alone? Is this the extent of your Pride?" Daniel sneered, his Hecatonchires avatar still pressing Lucifer to the ground beneath its foot.

Lucifer bit his lip in frustration, his anger boiling. He longed to rip this arrogant human to shreds, but his power had diminished drastically. At this mont, he could only muster enough strength to kill a single archfiend, let alone stand a chance against Daniel, who wielded the power of a Titan. He needed to find a way to survive this ordeal.

"Shut up, you arrogant human! Don't let get my hands on you!" Lucifer roared in fury, channeling all his power to stand, though it was still in vain.

"Oh, don't worry. I wasn't planning to let you get your hands on anyway. Thanks for the reminder," Daniel retorted with a smirk before sinking his consciousness back into his mindscape.

Within the mindscape, there wasn't a specific card he needed. So, he activated an enchantnt, using the abilities of his Archmage profession card to search for the card he required.

He drew a Mind Link card and imdiately used it on Lucifer. At that mont, their minds beca linked, and the surface thoughts of both were shared. Daniel didn't mind, as his surface thoughts were only about his plans for Lucifer's Abyssal Realm—plans that spelled bad news for Lucifer. Even if Lucifer knew about them, it wouldn't change anything.

"Lucifer, where is the exit that connects the Hell Gate to the outside world?" Daniel asked, prompting Lucifer to think about the location of the exit.

"Hah! You think I'd tell you!?" Lucifer growled, wanting to spit in Daniel's face but unable to, as Hecatonchires' foot pressed heavily against the back of his head.

"It's in the east, isn't it? Thanks," Daniel said, imdiately rushing in the direction revealed by Lucifer's thoughts.

At this mont, Lucifer also beca aware of Daniel's surface thoughts.

"He… he wants to destroy this Abyssal Realm! How!?" Lucifer was alard, initially thinking it must be so kind of joke. But the thoughts flashing through Daniel's mind indicated that he was confident... terrifyingly confident... in his ability to destroy the Hell Realm.

"Heh! What a joke. It's impossible for one man to destroy my entire Abyssal Realm," Lucifer scoffed, dismissing the notion. He attributed what he had seen in Daniel's mind to so sort of illusion. The idea that a single man, no matter how powerful, could obliterate his entire Hell Realm was simply too far-fetched to be true.

Just then, Lucifer noticed several archfiends glaring at him with predatory intent, like wolves eyeing a wounded prey.

"Lord Lucifer… it's ti for a change of regi," one of the archfiends sneered maliciously, licking his lips as he spoke.

"You!" Lucifer gritted his teeth. The three archfiends before him were his lieutenants. He had never imagined that this day would co. But he was Lucifer! He would never go down without a fight.

"Co, you ungrateful worms! I'll show you why I'm called Lucifer!" Lucifer roared as he engaged in battle with the three archfiends.
