In the study, He Lianfang explained Wen Daoji’s matters to Zhao Yao in detail.

After listening, Zhao Yao could only say, "Impressive."

He Lianfang asked, "How do you feel about appointing Wen Daoji as your Pri Minister?"

Zhao Yao didn’t answer but instead asked He Lianfang, "Uncle, do you think Wen Daoji is suitable to be my Pri Minister?"

He Lianfang nodded, "Suitable."

"Listening to you, Uncle, it seems Wen Daoji is extrely talented, but he acts so unrestrainedly. If I invite him to be my Pri Minister, he may not necessarily agree." Throughout history, extraordinarily talented people have been very proud; they don’t serve just anyone but choose their masters with strict criteria. "Wen Daoji’s unconventional ways an he’ll only serve soone he values. I might not be chosen by him."

He Lianfang hadn’t considered this, but he believed Wen Daoji wouldn’t overlook Zhao Yao.

"He will choose you."

"That’s not certain, after all, I’m just a young boy."

He Lianfang looked at Zhao Yao, "What do you an?"

"I need to et him."

"Then go and et him."

"I thought Father would appoint Grand Commandant Zheng as my Pri Minister."

"You wish." He Lianfang mocked Zhao Yao, "Your father couldn’t even get Zheng Xilin to return to the capital to serve him again, so where does he get the capability to make Zheng Xilin serve you?"

"I thought Grand Commandant Zheng quite liked ." Zhao Yao was quite taken with himself, "Over the years, I’ve been corresponding with Grand Commandant Zheng; he taught many things in his letters. I thought he would co out of retirent to help ."

He Lianfang chuckled at Zhao Yao’s words, "You dare to imagine. Zheng Xilin’s three sons, two of whom are loyal to you, and you want him to serve you too."

"Thinking about it isn’t illegal." Zhao Yao said, showing a hint of sadness on his face, "Alas, looks like I’m still not favored enough by Grand Commandant Zheng."

"Don’t even think about Zheng Xilin helping you; you better aim for Wen Daoji." He Lianfang said, "Wen Daoji’s governance skills are not inferior to Zheng Xilin’s."

"Uncle, you speak highly of Wen Daoji. This is the first ti I’ve heard you praise soone like this. Did you know Wen Daoji before?"

"I don’t know him; I haven’t t him." He Lianfang knew of Wen Daoji from others.

"I hope Wen Daoji is as you say, Uncle."

He Lianfang noticed Zhao Yao wasn’t very enthusiastic about Wen Daoji and asked in confusion, "You don’t have a high opinion of Wen Daoji?"

Zhao Yao admitted with a nod, "A bit."

"Why, because of the things he’s done that you dislike?" He Lianfang said, furrowing his brow, "Great achievers don’t fuss over minor details, and besides, the things he’s done aren’t outrageous."

"Uncle, it’s not because he flirted with others’ concubines that I’m displeased, but because I think people like him are hard to control," Zhao Yao said with a slight raise of his brow, "However unrestrained his actions, there must be a thod eventually; I fear he might act too wantonly." While he disliked people who adhered too rigidly to norms, he also disliked excessive wantonness. "As far as I know, the Wen family doesn’t easily leave the mountains; but once they do, they’ll be all-powerful."

"What, are you afraid you can’t handle him?" He Lianfang looked at Zhao Yao with amusent, "Lack confidence in yourself?"

"Uncle, it’s not that I’m afraid I can’t handle him; but once I’m in Lingnan, I have a lot to do. I don’t want to be distracted by managing him while I’m already busy. If he taxes my mind too much, I’d rather not have him." Though Zhao Yao hasn’t gone to Lingnan yet, he has already arranged everything for when he gets there. "My Pri Minister not only needs to help manage my small dynasty but also relieve my worries; only then can I focus entirely on what I want to do. If my Pri Minister also requires my worry, why would I need him? Just to create trouble for myself?"

He Lianfang felt there was so reason in Zhao Yao’s words and nodded, "Decide after you et him."

"Have Father bring him to you; I’ll visit seeing him in prison is a bit ostentatious."

"Alright."

After Zhao Yao chatted with He Lianfang for a while longer, he rose to return to Xingde Palace.

Upon returning to Xingde Palace, Xiao Jin had a huge surprise for Zhao Yao.

Zhao Yao thought Xiao Jin had brought him another rabbit, but unexpectedly, it’s a little tiger.

Tong Xi exclaid, "Tiger!"

Zhao Yao wasn’t startled by Xiao Jin’s sudden gift of a little tiger cub but was startled by Tong Xi’s shriek.

"Tong Xi, lower your voice; are you trying to scare to death?"
