Zhang Mansion, in Zhang He’s courtyard.

Zhang He lay on the bed, with Chu Ying applying dicine to the bruise on his back.

"Hiss... it hurts... it hurts..." In front of his good brother, Zhang He didn’t pretend, grimacing in pain, "It’s killing ... Xiao Bai... be gentle..."

"Being gentle won’t help." Chu Ying didn’t lighten his touch due to Zhang He’s words but instead increased the pressure, rubbing Zhang He’s bruise more forcefully.

"Ah!" Zhang He yelled out in pain, glared angrily at Chu Ying, "Xiao Bai, are you trying to kill while you can?"

Chu Ying replied earnestly, "This bruise on your back needs forceful application of dicine, that’s the only way it will heal quickly." Saying this, he pushed Zhang He’s head down, "Lie still and behave." With that, he kneaded again forcefully, making Zhang He cry out in agony.

Song Jicai and the others watched on the side and even they felt the pain.

When Chu Ying finished applying the dicine for Zhang He, Zhang He lay on the bed looking utterly dejected.

"I didn’t expect Ding Shan to have such strength, he just lightly tossed you aside, and it left such a big bruise on your back," Chu Ying said, "Luckily, it didn’t affect your bones and muscles."

"That guy’s just like a wild ox," Zhang He recalled with lingering fear how easily Ding Shan had lifted him high. "It’s the first ti I’ve t soone so strong."

Chu Huan stroked his chin, "A good prospect."

"Following that little runt around is a bit of a waste," Shen Sen said, feeling a bit regretful, "Tomorrow, after we defeat that little runt, let’s coax Ding Shan away from him."

Upon hearing this, Zhang He got excited and imdiately sat up, saying, "How do we trick... hiss..." He accidentally got up too quickly, pulling on the bruise on his back, making him gasp in pain. "If we can trick Ding Shan over to us, we can hold our heads high in the future."

"Offer more money to that little runt," Song Jicai thought for a mont and said, "We’ll bring out our most valuable items to give to that little runt at the ti. He’ll definitely agree."

"That’s a good idea," Zhang He agreed, "I don’t believe that little runt doesn’t love money."

Chu Huan decisively said, "Let’s do it like that then."

"Although it’s a bit shaful to bully a kid, it’s the little runt himself who wants to compete with us, we can’t be blad for being ruthless," Song Jicai laughed, "The little runt really doesn’t know his limits, daring to compete with us in horseback riding and archery." While they weren’t as skilled as their elder brothers, their riding and archery were still quite good compared to others.

"The little brat thinks he’s invincible just because he’s got so skills," Zhang He laughed sinisterly, "Tomorrow, as his elder brothers, we’ll teach him a lesson."

Upon saying this, Shen Sen and the others laughed heartily.

At that mont, the sound of soone greeting Zhang Gong ca from outside; the four of them imdiately fell silent, putting on obedient expressions, hiding all their previous arrogance.

Zhang He quickly got up from the bed, tidied up his clothes, and stood obediently by the bedside.

Zhang Gong ca in, and Song Jicai and the others obediently greeted him.

"Greetings, Uncle."

"Father."

Zhang Gong slled the dicine odor as soon as he ca in, raised an eyebrow, and looked at Zhang He, asking, "Injured? Got into a fight?" His expression darkened, "Who did you fight with? You guys didn’t cause trouble outside, did you?"

"No, absolutely not." Zhang He and the others shook their heads in unison, shaking them vigorously.

"Really?" Zhang Gong wasn’t convinced, his sharp gaze scanning Zhang He and his group.

"Father, we really weren’t fighting outside, we were just playing around, and accidentally bumped into our backs," Zhang He said evasively, feeling sowhat guilty.

"It better be true." Zhang Gong warned Zhang He and the others sternly, "If I find out you’ve been causing trouble outside, I’ll skin you all alive!"

Zhang He and the others shivered in fear at these words.

"We wouldn’t dare."

Zhang Gong said no more and turned to leave his youngest son’s courtyard. Once he left, Chu Huan and the others breathed a long sigh of relief, displaying an expression of barely survived calamity.

Song Jicai and the other three chatted a bit more with Zhang He before each heading back to their own hos. As soon as they returned, they were summoned by their fathers for a scolding.

Zhao Yao had predicted it; they never dared to act recklessly outside. If they caused trouble relying on their status and their fathers found out, their fathers would indeed skin them alive and break their bones.
