There was still a week to go before school started, so Ren Suo continued staying in the apartnt that was rented from his uncle.

Just minutes after Ren Suo called his uncle to explain the situation so he could rent the apartnt out to other people, his mother called him.

“Your departnt gave you an apartnt?! And you’re going to be a teacher?” asked his mother, her voice filled with amazent. She asked, “Did you accept a bribe? Did such a good thing really happen?”

“… They did not give an apartnt, it’s just a private residence hall room,” said Ren Suo, almost at a loss for words. He said, “The living conditions there could well be worse than uncle’s apartnt.”

His mother replied, “Heh, how could the apartnt you rented from your uncle be comparable to the one the governnt gave you? You earned that based on your own ability. Hehe, you’re a civil servant who has even received an apartnt now; people will say you’re my rich and capable son…”

“No, please don’t… Oh right, have you been practicing the set of breathing techniques I taught you? Do you feel anything different?” Ren Suo said.

“No,” his mother replied. She said, “By the way, son, is it really… the breathing techniques of those who are cultivating spiritual immortality?”

“Sigh, didn’t you believe previously?” a surprised Ren Suo asked. He had previously said that the breathing techniques were “the latest thods discovered by the governnt that could prevent aging” as an excuse to his mother. If he had directly ntioned that it was to cultivate spiritual immortality, she would have thought he was spouting nonsense.

She said, “Well, our neighbor’s son received so acceptance letter by a school a few days ago. The town governnt even sent people over specially to explain the situation to them. Tsk tsk tsk, what an honor, even to his ancestors! Aunty Shen has been going around proudly announcing to everyone that her son is going to beco a spiritual immortal for the society under the guidance of the governnt. That amount of glory…”

“But son, you’re also a spiritual immortal, right? That is why the nation has given you a house, it’s truly glorifying,” Ren Suo’s mother said enviously.

“Why does the spiritual immortal in your words sound rely as valuable as an apartnt…” said Ren Suo, who could not be bothered to correct her any longer. He replied, “By the way, do you or dad have any physical or health problems? For example, any pain due to age…”

“Your dad and I always go for a stroll everyday after our als, and we play badminton with our neighbours during the weekends too. We have sufficient food and adequate rest, waking up at seven and sleeping by eleven. You should worry about yourself more. Do you eat vegetables outside?” Ren Suo’s mother replied.

Upon hearing what his mother said, Ren Suo was relieved. With the Touch of Recovery, although it could only treat minor illnesses, it should still be extrely effective for healing rheumatoid arthritis. But as it turned out, his parents were in better physical shape than he was, and that ability need not be put to use.

Ren Suo quickly interrupted his mother’s nagging, saying, “Yes, yes… It’s still the Golden Week. Is Fei Fei at ho? Ask her to pick up the call.”

Fei Fei was Ren Suo’s sister who was a third-year student at senior high school. She lived in Hengshan High School, the best high school in town. It was not far from ho, but all the students of the school were required to live in-campus. Furthermore, the school followed the military-style and the students were not allowed to bring their mobile phones along with them. It was essentially a school where students were pushed to excel and advance to the next level of study.

Ren Suo was also from the sa high school. Although Hengshan High School was not as terrifying as so other secondary schools which would physically punish students who did not do well, the discipline of the school was still extrely strict. They welcod students who were willing to study as hard as possible and would not hesitate to expel students who did not bode well the school’s culture. The students spent much of their third year in school and were only allowed to return ho on holidays and special occasions.

Students who studied in such schools naturally did not have an extrely “colorful” youth. If they started dating early on, they would either be forced to separate into different classes or be forced to return ho. But even so, Ren Suo still supported her sister to study in the school—entering and graduating from university was the best path to take in life, regardless of the rejuvenation of Reiki or otherwise.

According to Yu Kuangtu, the Tianjing School of Practitioners was the only such school which accepted university students and adults who had “exceptional talent”. Such exceptional talent not only required a good talent score but also required a certain level of academic qualification since they would be nurtured into both a strong warrior and also Practitioner researchers who could take part in research imdiately. They would receive the best of Practice resources.

The benefit was boundless, as can be seen by the nation treating those who could enter the Tianjing School as a university student and had good Practitioner talent as an important person to the nation and nurturing them accordingly.

“Fei Fei went back to school yesterday, it’s just like that as a year three student,” his mother said. She continued, “However, one of Fei Fei’s classmates suddenly disappeared in class yesterday, and only reappeared half an hour later. Everyone is suspecting that there is paranormal activity in the school, and the town sent people to the school to investigate. The school would be giving a break these two days, you should call back later, Fei Fei should be back ho by then.”

Ren Suo asked, “People suddenly disappeared? How did they disappear?”

“They just disappeared. The parents’ chat room is saying that the student started disappearing into thin air inch by inch for almost ten seconds. He then reappeared. Everyone else in the class witnessed the entire event and rumors are being passed all around in the town, that’s how the town governnt got involved,” she replied.

His mother seed slightly displeased—she could not be blad though, for it was May and there was only a month to the National College Entrance Examination. His sister’s results could be affected due to such an incident and it was no wonder that as a mother, she would be affected.

After ending the call, Ren Suo felt like he rembered sothing.

But it was nothing extraordinary for anything to happen in recent tis, and monsters were erging one after another. Ren Suo sat down on the couch and turned on the ga console. He navigated to the “Equipnt” page.

A new skill had been acquired: “Ability: Heal”.

Ren Suo imdiately equipped himself with the ability, and then made a small cut in his finger. He had been performing many of such experints over the past few days and it was as if he was now immune to the minute pain.

After the white glow covered his finger, Ren Suo felt a sense of warmth in his fingers and the pain disappeared. The wound had vanished too.

Ren Suo heaved a sigh of relief—at last, he no longer needed to attempt to pull off the “Touch of Recovery”. Had the green light activated by the Touch of Recovery been more obvious, he would have missed that opportunity to “retire”. In such dynamic tis, opportunities were indeed aplenty.

Indeed, taking on the role of a school dic who was ant to resuscitate lives while researching “Naisser_Ren”, Ren Suo felt like he was ready to retire…

Although he had obtained the web address of the forum and his account password, Ren Suo could not access the forum that Yu Kuangtu had ntioned, since the internet access point in his current apartnt had not been modified. Otherwise, Ren Suo would have longed to find out for himself the progress of the nation’s research on “Naisser_Ren”.

On another note, Ren Suo’s mother now believed that “spiritual immortality” existed, and it appeared that the nation could no longer conceal that fact. Ren Suo woke his mobile phone and scrolled through the news and other community news. However, the mont he entered the social networking application, many accounts, official ones and citizen journalism accounts alike, were all resharing articles like “10 Tricks to Awakening Your Reiki”, “Establishnt of Practitioner Schools, Entering A New Era of Extraordinaires”, “How to Test Your Practitioner Talent”…

Although the nation had yet to officially announce the news, the ergence of Practitioner Schools and loosened grip over the dia likely signified a gradual introduction of a new set of world views. It would not be long before official news sources would report articles guiding different organizations on the attitudes to be taken toward Practitioners.

Amongst the various news articles being shared, one of them caught Ren Suo’s attention.

“Multiple people around the nation disappeared at the sa ti, reappeared with drastic changes to their body, claims deities are real!”

Ren Suo clicked into the article to find a video clip that appeared to be a recording of a marriage in a Western country. In the video was a plump and handicapped groom, as well as a cute and tender-looking young woman with a slender figure—the groom must have been rich, or the two of them must have been deeply in love.

However, just as they were exchanging wedding rings, the groom suddenly started disappearing, inch by inch, from the head down. His hand was still holding onto the bride’s, but ten seconds later, the groom disappeared completely.

In the second half of the video, a tall, muscular, handso man appeared, donning an obviously oversized groom suit. Loud shouts and gasps echoed throughout the wedding hall. Ren Suo could tell from the facial features of the man that he was very possibly the sa person as the plump groom from before.

The post wrote that the man was a French man, who disappeared suddenly the previous day, and reappeared in the sa position an hour after. When he reappeared, he beca fit and healthy, and subsequent dical checks revealed that all his illnesses from before had disappeared completely without a trace. His excess fat had also turned into a body of muscles, and both of his legs were perfectly normal. It was as if he had slimd down after eating healthily and keeping fit for an entire year!

When the transford groom returned, he could not stop telling people that he had been chosen by the deities. He had only returned to Earth as he had failed the training, but even though he failed, he received full recovery. Not only did he lose fat and gain muscle, but he was also fully cured of all his illnesses!

Nonetheless, there were many skeptical comnts who did not believe the story:

“The PS is so fake, it is so obvious that they are two different people.”

“Wouldn’t he have died after failing the training, shouldn’t his mory have been lost instead of being given such major benefits?”

“Please choose if there are really such amazing things…”
