The huge monster turned into a black mist and dissipated into the air, announcing the humans’ victory in that battle.
When Ren Suo and the rest of the group went forward, Mage, who was burned like charcoal, had already moved closer to the girl who was wearing brown-colored clothes and kneeling on the floor.
The badly-burnt Mage stretched out his left hand towards the girl. With all of the skin on his arm burned to ashes, his outstretched hand looked extrely sinister. However, as he stroked the girl’s head, the extrely gentle movent undoubtedly made his outstretched hand seem ever so kind and heart-warming to the audience around him.
A white glow erged from the fingertips of the burnt Mage, as if flas dancing on firewood. The white glow gradually wrapped around the girl wearing brown-colored clothes, and eventually, her entire body shone with light. Finally, the ball of light burst outwards with a crack, turning into millions of light particles and disappearing into the air. The entire process took less than three seconds.
Ren Suo had not expected that the 30-minute mini-movie which he watched in the ga was actually only a few seconds long in reality.
In the midst of the glow that the Iron Virgin boss character vanished in, a female mage who wore a red-colored hood and red-colored clothes said sothing, then turned around and gradually faded away in her position.
At that juncture, the other people at the scene could not be bothered with that female mage. They all crowded around the burnt mage and helped him to lie down on the ground. Soone shouted towards the group Ren Suo was with, asking, “dic! Is there a dic?”
“Coming!” a healing Practitioner from the Changjiang Practitioner Force replied as he imdiately rushed over. Ren Suo nodded at Dong Chengling, then scurried forward as well. Yuan Dang looked anxiously at him as he pulled him towards the center of the crowd.
In front of him was a thoroughly burnt body that was as black as charcoal. The abdon of the body was completely damaged, and the internal organs were barely visible.
“Can he be saved?” Cheng Wenchao asked anxiously.
The healing Practitioner from the Changjiang Force squatted down, then shook his head after taking a quick glance. He said, “99% of his body has been burnt, and most of his internal organs are…”
Ren Suo stared at the burnt body very seriously, but Mage did not look back at him. Instead, Mage looked directly upwards at the ceiling, and his charred lips turned upwards into a calm smile of ‘righteousness’.
Ren Suo was not stingy on using his Reiki energy and directly used [Ability: Heal] to treat the burnt body. When he ca into contact with the burnt body, he was undoubtedly filled with emotions.
That was the first ti he touched the body of a ga character.
If he had to describe his feelings then, it would probably be similar to being able to touch a 3D model of the 2D character which he was representing as a voice actor…
Indeed, Ren Suo felt that he was voice-acting the ga characters: he gave life, consciousness, and a voice to the characters. On the other hand, the ga characters were, to him, virtual objects which transcended dinsional boundaries.
The previous ti, he only managed to steal an awe-inspiring glimpse at Nine-tailed Fox. Now, he could finally touch a real-life Mage.
[Target Type: Adult Male, Human, a Primate]
[Physical Condition: On the verge of death, suffering from massive blood loss]
[Progress of Practice: Sacred Hand Level 18, Magic Wrist Level 0]
[Skin: Severe burns, skin grafting is recomnded]
[Lungs: 66% damaged, recomnded to…]
In reality, the data displayed in [Data Stream] was also based on the physical condition of Mage. No matter who evaluated the condition of Mage, the only conclusion would be that ‘it was not possible to treat him, he could not be saved, and he could only await his death’ ‘goodbye’.
Even Ren Suo’s own healing ability had no effect on Mage’s charred body. Healing abilities were, ultimately, not omnipotent. Fundantally, they achieved healing effects by utilizing Reiki as energy to stimulate cell proliferation. At present, however, Mage had barely any blood left in his body after being burned, and most of his internal organs were no longer functioning, so the biological materials which the cells needed to proliferate were grossly lacking.
On the other hand, [Heart-Strengthening] would also be useless in such a scenario—it was used to prolong one’s life during dangerous and critical monts, but Mage would not ‘die’ in the first place, so there was naturally no way to ‘prolong’ his life.
At that mont, one of the Changjiang Practitioners was helped over by another one of them. He looked at Mage, who was like a flickering candle in the wind and could not help but burst into tears. He cried, “My savior, if you have last wishes, feel free to tell , I will definitely help you to fulfill them!”
Ren Suo turned around and rembered the person to be the one who was saved by Mage using [Heart-Strengthening].
“It’s alright,” Mage replied unhurriedly.
Mage’s voice was relaxed, as if he had ‘seen through the reality of life and death’. Ren Suo was slightly surprised, as he had only typed in sentences when he was playing the ga. He had not expected that when the sentences were spoken by Mage in reality, he would sound like an actual person speaking with emotions.
Ren Suo had assud that Mage would speak in a chanical and monotonous tone.
Cheng Wenchao squatted down and looked seriously at the burnt Mage. He said, “Sir Mage, you protected us throughout the previous battle, and even debilitated yourself to kill that monster. For that, even words cannot express our deepest gratitude toward you.”
“Without you, we would definitely have been killed very early on by that monster.”
“Regardless, you are our savior who saved all of our lives. If you have any last wishes, we will definitely try our best to help you fulfill them!”
At that juncture, the burnt Mage seed to beco more alert. He took one look around him and said in a tone making him seem like he had gone through nurous ups and downs of life, “We are mages under the world tree. From the mont we were born, we dedicated our lives to the world tree. It is our duty to eliminate disasters and save humans. I will not die, for there are many others like who are fighting in silence. My will will be inherited by them, and we all have the sa na: Mage…”
The last word ‘Mage’ lingered in the air. The burnt Mage very quickly turned into nurous light particles and vanished in the embrace of the Changjiang Practitioner.
The Changjiang Practitioners did not cry, but sobs could be heard. At that mont, soone exclaid, “The mysterious realm is now connected to the outside! We are able to leave now!”
“What?” Cheng Wenchao replied in surprise. However, he was quickly relieved and said, “Indeed, Mage said that the mysterious realm will not be sealed anymore after the Evil Demon was killed.”
“Send one person to inform those on the outside about what happened here, and let the command post prepare for disease inspection. No one can leave the mysterious realm on their own. You must wait for instructions from the outside and for the disease inspection to be completed before leaving. If ordinary people are able to co in, get the dic squad to co in to perform treatnt now!”
In an instant, Ren Suo had lots of work to do. Although Mage took much care of the Changjiang Practitioners during the battle, there were still quite a number of them who were injured. It was the perfect ti for Ren Suo to shine.
Unfortunately, however, Cheng Wenchao was not injured, and Ren Suo did not have any opportunity to treat him—he was a tier 2 Awakened Practitioner!
Nonetheless, there was still a sizable number of Awakeners amongst the Changjiang Practitioners. Every Awakened Practitioner was treated by Ren Suo to a luxurious ‘set al’: [Allure of Sweet Dreams] 5 minutes of [Ability: Heal]. He successfully acquired two keys, though they were likely to be 1-star keys.
Equipping himself with [Small Holy Grail of Purity], the effect of Ren Suo’s treatnt was extrely obvious. It could well be terd a ‘Gynaecologist’s Sacred Hand’—there was nothing much that Dong Chengling could do at that ti with her ability, so she took on the role of a nurse who ‘held down’ the Changjiang Practitioners who were writhing in pain. Without a doubt, she completed her task perfectly.
When it was Yuan Dang’s turn to be treated, he naturally did not have the opportunity to enjoy the ‘luxurious set al’, as he was not an Awakener. As such, Ren Suo talked to him while he was treating him, asking, “I heard you guys say that… that man was a mage?”
Yuan Dang did not answer. Ren Suo smiled and said instead, “I know that this should be confidential information, but do you think he is a good person then?”
Yuan Dang groaned montarily and said, “I don’t know.”
“However, I will not forget the mont when he stood in front of and blocked the attack for .”
“I will not forget that he sacrificed his fingers to restrain the monster to stop the monster from attacking us.”
“I will not forget that he was not afraid of death, and burned himself to kill the monster.”
“It is too superficial to describe him simply as good or bad. He was willing to risk his life to save us, and I believe that his heart must be made of fiery passion and a strong sense of mission.”
“He will be the indelible beacon of light in my life for the next few decades to co,” Yuan Dang said.
As Ren Suo listened to what Yuan Dang had to say, he began sweating buckets. Dong Chengling, who was holding Yuan Dang down, felt that it was slightly strange and asked, “Ren Suo, are you feeling very warm?”
“No, it’s nothing…” Ren Suo replied.
Although Ren Suo felt slightly embarrassed as he listened to Yuan Dang, he secretly felt quite pleased—the person he disguised himself as was very well-received!
Say more, Ren Suo really liked hearing it!
At that juncture, Ren Suo saw a black vortex appearing next to him, from the corner of his eyes. A green-skinned monster with sharp teeth and a vicious-looking mouth erged from the black-colored water. Its crimson-red eyes were staring straight at Ren Suo!
