Sam's words provoked the female professor to spit.

"Old geezer, do you look down on my students?"

Sam suddenly realized that the female professor was the supervising professor of the Second Brigade.

Saying such things now would undoubtedly make people unhappy.

The other two Grand Academicians were also sowhat dissatisfied with Sam's remarks.

A Grand Academician nad Kenny said calmly.

"As impartial witnesses, we should not make judgnts before the competition starts, to avoid misleading others."

Another Grand Academician nad Modan said slowly.

"I have high hopes for the warriors of the Second Brigade; they were originally veterans from the Dark Battlefield, surely they can handle these new recruits?"

The five people speculated, and Giles had to step forward to smooth things over.

"Alright, everyone, there's no need to argue."

"The duel is about to begin. We'll soon see who wins or loses."

Everyone stopped arguing upon hearing the Dean's words and focused on the big screen.

On both sides of the desolate street, red dots began to move.

This indicated that Smith had already started moving with the students of the Second Brigade.

On the left side of the desolate street, however, green dots remained rooted, quietly immobile.

Giles and Sam exchanged glances without saying a word, while the other three Grand Academicians comnted.

Kenny, the Grand Academician sporting a goatee, sincerely praised.

"Veterans who've been to war are different; they've already started moving."

"Indeed, the seasoned warriors are quick, while the First Brigade students are still too inexperienced."

"It looks like they're planning to surround the block where the First Brigade is located and attack when the ti is right."

"If the First Brigade students can last more than three hours without being defeated, they're impressive."

...

Listening to the discussions, Giles raised one finger and said calmly.

"If the Second Brigade can last one hour without being eliminated, they win."

Giles' words instantly sparked an uproar, and the other Grand Academicians repeatedly shook their heads.

With a mocking sneer at the corner of his mouth, Kenny said.

"We all know Laura is your daughter, but you're a bit too confident."

As soon as Kenny finished speaking, Sam shrugged and said lightly.

"Giles did make a mistake."

Sam and Giles had always been inseparable.

Their deep friendship of 40 years was unmatched by anyone else.

Kenny was overjoyed upon hearing Sam's words and applauded.

"See, Giles, even Sam can't stand your arrogance."

Sam laughed heartily, looking at Kenny,

"I ant the Second Brigade will be defeated by Laura and others in less than half an hour, where's the arrogance in that?"

"You..."

This left Kenny speechless for a good ten seconds.

Giles watched Sam tease Kenny and couldn't help but laugh.

The two old friends had been close for over a decade and had long been in perfect sync.

Kenny had been fooled by them more than once.

Kenny, embarrassed and angry, said harshly.

"Fine, I'll see how the First Brigade can defeat the Second Brigade in half an hour."

He issued a challenge, looking at Giles and Sam provocatively.

"Let's bet; I'll bet the First Brigade can't defeat the Second Brigade in half an hour."

"Otherwise, I'll willingly offer the Level Four Gene Fluid I have to both of you."

Upon hearing this, Sam couldn't help but spit at him.

"You shalessly propose this bet knowing the Second Brigade is stronger than the First Squad; don't you have any sha?"

Kenny snorted, lazily looking at Sam.

"So, you don't have confidence in the First Brigade's combat power either; where has your bravado gone?"

Sam was about to say sothing when Giles tugged at his arm.

"Fine, I'll take the bet. If the First Squad can't defeat the Second Squad in half an hour, I'll offer a jar of ten-year-old Dharma Wine from my ho."

Kenny laughed heartily and shook hands with Giles.

"It's settled then."

At that mont, the only female Scholar, Britney, suddenly exclaid.

"The First Squad is on the move. Strange, where are these guys going?"

On the screen, the green dots representing the First Squad were retreating instead of advancing, escaping to a distant part of the slums.

Everyone was a bit perplexed.

Kenny sneered from the side.

"Escaping before the battle even starts, this squad is truly peculiar."

Just as he finished speaking, the green dots on the surveillance video all disappeared.

This startled everyone, and Kenny couldn't help but shake his head in confusion.

"Could it be that the First Squad was wiped out by a surprise attack from the Second Squad?"

Saying this, even Kenny himself found it unlikely.

"Impossible, even slaughtering thirty pigs in one go requires ti; it can't be done this quickly."

Giles and Sam exchanged smiles.

Sam smiled as he looked at Kenny.

"Foolish, this ans soone has disabled our monitors, turning that area into a blind spot."

Kenny was taken aback and imdiately shouted angrily.

"No way, this is blatant cheating; the entire duel must be under our Grand Academicians' surveillance."

Giles snorted: "Once a commander is on the battlefield, they may disobey orders."

"As the Art of War states, deception is allowed; we didn't forbid disabling monitors beforehand, it's too late to say now."

Kenny still wouldn't relent, and Giles glanced at him, speaking calmly.

"I'm the Dean, and I'll set the rules; others can keep their opinions but can't enforce them."

Brittany, Kenny, and a few others looked at each other.

Giles' decisive actions often left them powerless.

Giles spoke calmly, his face showing a hint of worry.

"That area of the slums hasn't undergone any security assessnt; now that the First and Second Brigades have started their showdown, outsiders can't interfere."

"What we need to do now is securely guard the periter of the outskirts, just in case."

After Giles finished speaking, he opened the communicator and began deploying soldiers to patrol the civilian district's outskirts.

anwhile, the Second Brigade had already crossed the central street and was chasing towards the left street block.

Smith sneered.

In the cool evening breeze, his thirty students moved swiftly like leopards, their silhouettes flickering under the twilight.

The scout reported to Smith via the communicator.

"Captain, footprints of the First Brigade's students have been found ahead; they should've just retreated."

Smith snorted.

"Keep scouting. Report imdiately once you spot them."

At this point, Smith's sneer grew wider.

"That fat guy may boast, but when it cos to real combat, he's nothing but trash."

Saying this, Smith picked up his pace to follow his target.

"This ti, I must make that fat guy look bad!"
