There was no response, but no deaths were confird.
As the captain of the Pallbearers responsible for the Supre Treasure recovery operation, Roy held a device resembling a regular smartphone. Besides making calls, it could also monitor the status of the other Pallbearers.
Now, his three subordinates—Quest, Warren, and Ennis—were all unaccounted for due to unknown reasons, neither returning nor responding, all clustered together.
Based on their locations and the position displayed by the Supre Treasure search watch, Roy was fairly certain they had found the target. However, it seed the target had changed its tactic from fleeing to using Transcendent thods to control the Pallbearers.
Or had the target, in these past few days, made contact with the Supernatural Departnt of the Mysterious Country? Was it an ambush by a Transcendent of the Mysterious Country that got them just now?
Roy shook his head slightly, dismissing the thought. The xenophobia of the Mysterious Country was even more severe than that of the Federation. In "Over My Dead Body," a Cultivator from the Ren Family had said, "Those who are not of our kind must have a different heart"—at least, Roy had learned this phrase from that TV show.
The target was a non-human existence. Even if the Supernatural Departnt of the Mysterious Country was willing to shelter her, they wouldn't use her as bait here to lure the Pallbearers—this was a comic con, bustling with thousands of visitors.
How could the Transcendent of the Mysterious Country guarantee the safety of all civilians while suppressing their Pallbearers?
Roy, well-versed in the culture of the Mysterious Country, naturally knew its people valued 'stability' over 'results'. With such a mindset, even if they wanted to capture the Pallbearers, they would surely choose a deserted place to act, not a comic con.
Therefore, the target must have gained a new Ability, right?
Roy looked down at the Supre Treasure search watch and noticed the red dot on its surface seed slightly smaller.
This red dot represented the ripples of Spiritual Energy emitted by the Supre Treasure. A weakening red dot ant the ripples from the Supre Treasure were growing fainter.
The Pallbearers would certainly not damage the Supre Treasure. Thus, there was only one reason for its diminishing aura: the target was about to fully rge with the Supre Treasure!
Once the target completely rged with the Supre Treasure, its Spiritual Energy frequency would naturally blend with the target's, rendering the Supre Treasure searching device utterly useless.
Moreover, Roy knew this particular Supre Treasure inherently possessed the 'Concealnt' Trait. Even if the Supre Treasure search device remained effective, the target might use the Supre Treasure's power to evade their pursuit!
Taking a deep breath, Roy knew he could no longer hold back.
The Federation's original demand was to capture the target alive. But if Roy couldn't retrieve the target imdiately, she might escape completely!
Even if it ant killing the target and taking only her corpse, it was still better than total mission failure and the Supre Treasure disappearing for good.
With his mind made up, Roy entered the venue, heading towards the three Pallbearers and the target.
It was almost noon. Many people had finished their morning tour of the comic con and, uninterested in the afternoon's programs, were leaving early for lunch outside—the food inside the convention was expensive and unappetizing.
Consequently, a considerable number of people were entering and exiting, among them many cosplayers in distinctive outfits; Roy paid them no mind.
At that mont, a barefoot man in a blood-red long coat, his face a ssy sar of red, black, and white paint, passed by Roy and chuckled, "The blood of you Pallbearers has made my coat reek."
Roy, proficient in the Mysterious Country's language, paused for a fraction of a second, then swiftly realized: the striking red garnt the man wore was stained with *actual* blood!
And the sheer amount of it! The unmasked, iron-rust scent of so much blood pricked his nostrils, making them itch.
His Pallbearers weren't dead, Roy could confirm that. So, this man's blood-soaked clothing...
Could it be blood shed when he brutally attacked my comrades?
Could it be fresh blood from their severed arteries?
Had he snapped their limbs and tossed them aside?
A torrent of thoughts whirled in Roy's mind; a naless rage evaporated his sanity.
My comrades... he dealt with all of them!?
Then, the next second, he saw the man in red transform into an afterimage, darting out of the comic con.
The man in red moved as if by Teleport, a speed Roy imdiately knew he couldn't match. Almost subconsciously, Roy frantically channeled the Energy Core within his body, his gaze fixed, and began to draw upon Cosmic Energy to cast his awakened spells.
"Quest, Warren, Ennis..." Roy muttered, a chaotic black-and-white sphere of light appearing in the air between his cupped hands. As if rolling a ball of dough, he slowly ford a terrifying orb that could both absorb and reflect all light.
As a C-Class warrior of the Federation, Roy should have beco a star-like Watcher, worshipped and admired by millions of Federation citizens. Instead, he beca a Pallbearer. This was not only due to his volatile temperant and personal preference for anonymity but, more importantly, because his supernatural power was a cutting-edge killing technique that couldn't be held back.
His supernatural power, 'Black and White Extre Flash,' was an extrely rare 'Directional Skill.' This ant that once he locked onto a target, his Skill would automatically track and strike, its minimum point-blank damage at least equivalent to an anti-materiel rifle. Using it guaranteed the enemy's death.
The lethal nature of 'Black and White Extre Flash' didn't align with the Watcher's creed: 'Protect human rights, arrest evil.' Thus, Roy becoming a Pallbearer was a logical outco.
But this supernatural power also had many limitations, such as requiring a 9.58-second charge and having seen the target with the naked eye within 169 ters (limited by his vision). However, once he locked on, no matter how fast the enemy ran, it was futile.
By the ti Roy had charged for seven seconds, people nearby had instinctively sensed sothing was off about this middle-aged man and moved away. The area in the direction Roy was facing had cleared out automatically—any tourist daring to stand before him would feel the sa terrifying fear as facing the muzzle of a gun.
The man in red had already run outside; his Teleport skill seed to have limitations, so he was now fleeing on foot. Just as the man in red was about to leave his line of sight, Roy finished charging!
Oppose us Pallbearers? There's no escape.
"Black·and·White!"
Without a sound, the interwoven black-and-white shockwave annihilated the wall, the man in red, and the glass behind him. The upper half of the man in red and his red coat vanished completely, leaving only a pair of lower legs.
"'Murd—'"
A staff mber outside the comic con entrance scread, "'Soone's been killed!'"
"'He used Extraordinary Strength to kill soone! That person's entire upper body is gone!'"
"'Oh my God!'"
After eliminating the man who had dealt with his subordinates, Roy regained a fraction of his rationality. He rembered his primary objective was to retrieve the target and now needed to check if his comrades could still be saved.
With chaos erupting, Roy didn't hesitate and headed straight for the target's location. The crowd before him dared not make contact, parting to let him through.
Roy watched himself walk through the comic con as if parting the Red Sea like Moses, unimpeded. It seed killing soone to establish dominance wasn't entirely a bad thing.
Anyway, it'll take so ti for the Supernatural Departnt in Lianjiang to respond, Roy thought. I should still have ti to complete the mission and even escape cleanly. The Federation will definitely send backup...
Just then, he heard the sound of shattering glass behind him, and a strong sense of danger surged through his heart.
Without hesitation, he executed a reverse Hand Blade, and a wall of black light appeared behind him, just in ti to block a yellow energy blade, swift as a torrent, slicing the earth and kicking up a cloud of dust.
"'Federal Undertakers, you won't cause chaos here.'"
While Yu Kuangtu and other Tactical Bureau personnel were on the ground awaiting Mr. Chuan's further instructions, they suddenly saw a black-and-white light of annihilation flare up on the third floor of the convention center. Knowing sothing major had occurred, Yu Kuangtu and Mr. Chuan imdiately leaped from the ground, vaulting to the third floor.
Because of the assassination attempt eight days prior, the Tactical System had decreed that all personnel captain-level and above must be familiar with intelligence on Transcendent from all countries. Thus, Yu Kuangtu imdiately recognized the source of this black-and-white light of annihilation.
Aurora Roy, one of the ace mbers of the Federal Undertakers organization. He had personally dismantled multiple Transcendent cri organizations within Federation borders and even destroyed several large corporations linked to Transcendent cris. His combat power was second only to Angel Zack, but his combat record far surpassed Angel Zack's. It could be said that the Federal Governnt's strengthened prestige was significantly tied to Aurora Roy.
"'Pallbearer Roy,'" Yu Kuangtu strode into the venue, shouting at the disguised Roy, "'The Tactical Bureau is arresting you on three charges: preditated murder, destruction of public property, and illegal entry!'"
Although Roy's current appearance didn't match the records, the black-and-white light of annihilation was Roy's signature Ability; there was no mistaking it.
Yu Kuangtu didn't know why the Federation's fearso Roy had co to the Mysterious Country, but that didn't diminish his burning fighting spirit. Publicly, capturing this smuggled spy was his duty; privately, having never had a chance to fight unrestrained, he also wanted to see how he asured up against the Federation's top Transcendent.
Other Tactical Bureau mbers who were slightly behind also rushed up, evacuating the crowd while surrounding Roy.
Roy didn't look at Yu Kuangtu, nor did he pay any attention to the surrounding Tactical Cultivators. Instead, he stared intently at the strange cloaked figure.
"'Who are you?'"
"'Sanqianli,'" the cloaked figure's voice echoed as if from a cave.
Yu Kuangtu glanced quizzically at the cloaked figure. Aren't you Mr. Chuan? Is his na Sanqianli Chuan, or Chuan Sanqianli?
"'Are you trying to stop ?'" Roy sighed. Faced with Supernatural Combat Power comparable to his own, he would have preferred to resolve this through dialogue if possible. "'This matter doesn't concern you.'"
He knew these people had appeared suddenly because of the 'Black and White Extre Flash' he had just unleashed. But how could Roy have known people from the Supernatural Departnt were nearby!
Could it be that man in red knew the Supernatural Departnt was nearby, which was why he dared to provoke ? He just overestimated his ability to escape and ended up getting himself killed by ?
This thought slightly improved Roy's mood: at least he'd killed one of their n.
"'The mont you Pallbearers snuck in here, it beca our business!'" Yu Kuangtu shouted. "'Surrender peacefully!'"
Roy snorted coldly. "'Looking for a fight? Wait until I've completed my mission!'"
Then Roy burst into motion, cast a Protective Spell on himself, and moved rapidly towards his target's location.
The Tactical Bureau mbers attempted to stop him, but the comic con was still crowded. He plunged back into the throng, hampering the Tactical Bureau personnel.
Yu Kuangtu and the cloaked man imdiately gave chase. Although they didn't know Roy's mission, a Federation operative causing trouble within the Mysterious Country's borders? Unacceptable.
Moreover, Mr. Chuan had just sensed that soone from the Fairy Palace had lingered here—although Yu Kuangtu didn't know how Mr. Chuan knew this, and was skeptical despite Mr. Chuan being sent from Sky Capital.
But now that a Pallbearer had also appeared here, Mr. Chuan's intuition now seed highly credible.
If it weren't for a secret concerning the Fairy Palace, why would the Federation dispatch a heavyweight like Aurora Roy!?
「...」
anwhile, Ren Suo, having just washed his face in the won's restroom, suddenly noticed a cyan ring, like flowing water, had appeared on his left ring finger.
The True Form of the 'Rippling Spring Sounds' ring.
"'The ti has co.'"
Ren Suo exhaled softly, smiling as he gestured to Little Jiu. "'Let's get ready to go.'"
「...」
"'Still thinking of leaving?'"
Roy, 113 ters in a straight line from Ren Suo, noticed the red dot on his Supre Treasure search watch begin to Move. Never mind that Mysterious Country Cultivator behind who's skilled with the Power of the Earth, he thought fiercely. Even an expert a tier stronger couldn't stop from killing you—
The next second, Roy suddenly saw a dark figure pop up before him.
"'Scram!—'"
With the Sharingan in his left eye and the Samsara Eye in his right, a wicked, audacious smile on his face, Noise-Canceling Headphones hanging around his neck, wearing a Tactical Team Leader Vest, Crimson Flying Boots on his feet, Heart-Shaped Sunglasses dangling from his collar, and Fla Gauntlets on his hands, with Buddha Beads wrapped around them...
It was this man—a bizarre mix of Ani Fans and real-world styles, his ridiculously ostentatious outfit inviting endless ridicule, his attitude utterly arrogant—who kicked the previously swaggering Federal Undertaker, sending him flying.
Roy, whose disguise was nearly shaken loose by the kick, dug his heels into the ground to stop his montum, astonished to find his Protective Spell had been weakened by more than half.
This Explosive Power... it's comparable to my own!
But even so... Roy began, then trailed off as he looked up, utterly speechless.
He saw the Mysterious Country man who had kicked him go over to a nearby comic con stall selling weapon props and pick up a crudely made Frostmourne and a shoddily crafted Ashbringer.
With a casual flourish of both weapons, the downward-pointed Frostmourne radiated a bone-chilling current, while the upward-pointed Ashbringer erupted with a pillar of fla that shot towards the heavens!
Roy could only watch helplessly as soone with Explosive Power rivaling his own acquired divine weapons...
Then this strangely dressed man, who had entered the fray midway, first swept his wicked, unrestrained gaze around the venue. Then, in a voice that wasn't loud but carried clearly throughout the hall, he drawled lazily:
"'All irrelevant personnel, leave at once! The Fairy Palace is conducting business!'"
