Ren Suo felt that the adventurer was now like a runaway horse, completely out of control and past the point of no return...

Ren Suo hadn’t even scanned it yet, and there he was, putting it on. Ren Suo even wanted to give him a Magical Girl Transformation Rod right then and there, just to see how he’d handle that situation.

But the Magical Girl Transformation Rod is an Epic Item, and Ren Suo didn’t have enough energy points right now.

Besides, it was one thing to ss with the adventurer, but if he actually got that item, Ren Suo would feel like playing the ga had been a waste of ti.

The adventurer was now wearing a pair of Heart-Shaped Sunglasses, dressed in a Tactical Bureau vest, with Kusanagi Household’s Fla Gauntlets, and holding a copy of *Thought Cultivation*. He looked odd enough already; Ren Suo didn’t want to push it further.

Ren Suo also discovered a hidden setting: the adventurer now attacked with only his right hand. His left hand was occupied with *Thought Cultivation* and, therefore, remained immobile.

This ant the items Ren Suo scanned in should ideally not replace the ones the adventurer already had, or it was likely they’d be mutually exclusive. Moreover, he couldn’t add non-combat props to his right hand—otherwise, the adventurer would be left hopping on three legs.

At that mont, the adventurer was facing a swarm of Strange Creatures that resembled weeds, creatures akin to the ’trash’ children tossed into ditches. As they were soaked with water, they were hard to damage with fire.

Ren Suo first equipped the adventurer with another attack Bond, ’Storm Restraint,’ then searched through his own cosplay props and found a nice pair of boots:

"Flying Boots: An Extraordinary Tier Item. These boots can help you travel thousands of miles and woo a partner from afar. They significantly increase their user’s Movent Speed and add a 15% dodge rate, requiring 50 energy points."

The adventurer’s Attack Power was just barely up to standard, but his defensive power and Movent Speed were lacking. He should be able to break the deadlock with speed-enhancing equipnt, especially since Ren Suo couldn’t find any other boots to equip.

Even if Ren Suo ended up with this equipnt after the ga update, he wasn’t worried. These physical-type props usually just required Ren Suo to have a similar item to take effect. For example, the hat he always wore (except when bathing and sleeping) shielded his cat head, which would otherwise break the chart with its Charm Points. It also activated the Seeker of the Dao Correction Hat.

Once scanning was completed, the adventurer pulled a pair of bright red boots with glittering golden trim from his backpack. When he wore them, each step he took left a golden trail in the air—incredibly cool.

"If fire cannot cleanse your despair, then only a storm can restrain you."

"Only a storm can fell a great tree, huh?!"

The adventurer’s hands were wrapped in milky-white cyclones. He quickly dodged attacks from the Peashooters and slamd his fists into the creatures. With each punch, whirlwinds shot out like cannonballs toward the monster horde!

"ORA ORA ORA ORA—"

The whirling cyclones drilled through the Treen like the bits of a pile driver, exploding and spreading within them, blasting out one hollow after another!

Nut Warriors were blasted into powder, man-eating plants were crushed into juice, and Peashooters had their stems and leaves shattered!

The monsters tried to counterattack, but the adventurer didn’t engage them up close and was too quick on his feet. Ultimately, the monster army was worn down and killed by him.

Ash to ashes, dust to dust. That which is plucked must not be distressed (Energy Points 20).

The casent window of the castle swung open. A little girl, holding a tray laden with delicious food, struggled over. She set the tray on the table before scurrying to her seat and smoothing her dress as she sat.

We quietly enjoyed our afternoon tea. The red velvet cake was delicious; the Water of Life and the tea brewed by the little girl were wonderful too. Drinking them made a bit drowsy (Energy Points 5).

After we finished eating, the little girl asked if I could pass on a ssage to her relatives outside.

Of course, I agreed. I’m a good person who likes to help others, after all.

Then the little girl took a handkerchief and wiped the cream from her mouth; it was an amazingly cute and endearing sight. She hopped down from her seat and ran into the garden, letting the flowers embrace her.

She said:

"Mom and Dad, does this place look like our garden at ho? I really love it here, so I won’t go back. Hehe. I just rember closing my eyes, and when I opened them, wow! I was here, transported from our garden. Later, I found out this was a gift from Mom and Dad. I also really love the castle.

"Look, now I can tie my own braids, isn’t that amazing? I still love long hair, and it’s not hot here. When I had no hair, my head felt weirdly smooth to the touch, and looking in the mirror, I always thought I looked so ugly. But now, don’t I look much better?

"Does Mom have a little brother or sister for in her belly now?"

The little girl talked without much logical sequence, chattering away about many things.

I nodded, promising to convey the little girl’s words to her parents completely.

The little girl thanked and gave the address of the next person who would invite to dinner. As she was bidding farewell, she suddenly told to be careful of Grandpa Fugui’s cow, saying it could be quite fierce. Then she asked to wait a mont.

After a while, the little girl handed a vibrantly blooming flower. It was stemless and radiant. She said she knew Grandpa Fugui’s cow well, and if I carried this flower, the cow wouldn’t be an to , even if I accidentally ran into it.

Ren Suo perked up. As soon as the adventurer left the house, he imdiately sent him on another exploration!

These two battles had drained so much energy. Although there were replenishnts after the victories, they were still ager. At this rate, he could only scan for Rare Level Items.

To his surprise, a new opportunity had arisen: the little girl had given the adventurer an item that could help him avoid the cow’s deadly gaze.

This ti, Ren Suo finally let the adventurer farm idly with peace of mind and then went to sleep himself.

He slept comfortably, but that night, many people were kept awake by his actions.

For example, at the headquarters of a certain bullet-screen website, although it was past midnight, the place was still packed and as brightly lit as dayti.

In the reception room, the person in charge was nervously eting with staff from the Tactical Bureau. He had just been snuggling with his wife in bed when a sudden phone call roused him. He rushed back to the company, only to discover that such a major incident had occurred.

"I’m Dai Yuxing, deputy captain of the Fifth Team of the Shenhai City Counterasure Bureau," the female agent showed her ID and asked, "What’s the current situation?"

"I’ve already instructed all staff to copy all data from the computers; it will be available to you shortly. All technicians are at their posts, trying to investigate the cause of the video anomaly. The server is also being checked. However, if we shut it down for maintenance, it would affect the website..."

"Then don’t bother. Find out the cause of the video anomaly as quickly as possible while the website is operating normally."

"Should we block this video directly and review it slowly?"

Dai Yuxing did not give a clear response but countered, "Do you think the anomaly in the video could be achieved through technical ans?"

The person in charge hesitated for a mont before responding, "No. We did a preliminary check and found that when the Nine-Tailed Fox appeared, the backend data hardly changed. Furthermore, apart from opening the video to observe, other thods, such as inspecting the page code, revealed no traces of the Nine-Tailed Fox."

"It’s as if she appeared out of thin air and doesn’t even consu any resources. Even if we shut down the server to investigate, I’m afraid we won’t find anything."

"So, it’s not by technical ans, but by Transcendent thods?" Dai Yuxing asked.

"Not necessarily," the person in charge replied. "Although I don’t know much about Transcendent thods, they usually involve physical or chemical changes, right? But this is the online world. Can transcendent powers affect data changes?"

"Have you forgotten *Infinite Intrusion*?" Dai Yuxing said indifferently.

The person in charge was stunned and then showed a look of sudden realization. "Right, *Infinite Intrusion*... If soone had the abilities from *Infinite Intrusion*, pulling off this kind of prank would indeed be a piece of cake."

In *Infinite Intrusion*, characters from different gas can actually fight on a single server. It’s a spectacle for layn and practically a ’Bible’ for insiders—how is that even done?

The technical ans displayed in *Infinite Intrusion* were almost miraculous, like magic; no one in the industry had been able to learn even a fraction of it. Over ti, they forgot about this video. The person in charge had subconsciously forgotten as well, only rembering when Dai Yuxing ntioned it.

"Do you think this is a prank?" Dai Yuxing smiled.

"Isn’t it?" the person in charge replied. "Could it be... that soone from the Fairy Palace really went online?"

"What’s impossible about that?" Dai Yuxing said. "Compared to the World Tree, which is unwavering in its mission to save the world, the Fairy Palace... seems more human. There’s the God of Cookery, who aids the world’s people, and the Nine-Tailed Fox, who cares for pets..."

"The internet is one of humanity’s greatest inventions in modern tis, don’t you agree?"

"Without a doubt." As a mber of the internet industry, the person in charge naturally nodded.

"Then, what’s so impossible about people from the Fairy Palace also enjoying the internet?" Dai Yuxing said. "It’s just that since they are not in the Human World, they have to use more wondrous ans to go online—such as directly entering the network."

The person in charge was left stamring by Dai Yuxing’s words. "So, Deputy Captain Dai, you an... the one who left a ssage on our website’s video is really the Nine-Tailed Fox?"

"That’s a possibility," Dai Yuxing said. "Among the people from the Fairy Palace who have appeared so far, the Nine-Tailed Fox is the one who loves novelty the most and puts on the grandest show."

"If it really was her who left that ssage, it would make perfect sense. Therefore, this video cannot be blocked; the Nine-Tailed Fox might want more people to see her trace."

"No problem," the person in charge nodded. "Is there anything else you require?"

"Since it hasn’t yet been ten hours since the incident occurred, many decisions are still under discussion. You need to be ready at all tis," Dai Yuxing said.

"Always prepared!" the person in charge declared, slapping his left chest.

"However, there is one thing you can prepare for in advance," Dai Yuxing said. "Your site is currently the only one suspected of being visited by an Immortal like the Nine-Tailed Fox. We need your website to organize an event to probe the Fairy Palace’s attitude."

"You need to prepare a contest that involves people from the Fairy Palace and the World Tree. For example, have users create related video compilations or 3D character animation shorts. Better still, hold a popularity contest allowing netizens to choose which Immortal or Magician they support."

"Use this contest to attract the attention of Immortals and Magicians, to see if they’ll react to public adoration? I understand," the person in charge said.

"We’ll work overti and prepare at once! Our systems will be ready whenever the Tactical Bureau needs them online. The Earth doesn’t explode, we don’t take holidays!"

"Good," Dai Yuxing nodded in satisfaction. However, as she was preparing to leave, she turned and said to the person in charge, "Oh, I have one more personal favor to ask you."

What? Even the Tactical Bureau is shaking people down for favors? The person in charge was taken aback but quickly said, "Please, go ahead."

"That contest I ntioned—if possible, please focus the promotion on the God of Cookery," Dai Yuxing said. "Even if the God of Cookery doesn’t finish first, it would be best if he’s not last... Do you understand?"

The person in charge blinked and nodded vigorously. "Understood, understood. Don’t worry. We’ll design it so the God of Cookery competes against less popular characters. This will ensure he advances to the final stages smoothly."

"You’re quite skilled at this," Dai Yuxing remarked with so surprise.

"Of course. We’ve held many such contests. There’s no need for covert manipulation. While we can’t guarantee the God of Cookery will take first place, securing second, third, or fourth is quite simple..."
