Editor: Dragon Boat Translation
At first, Ren Suo thought this ga’s setting likely had nothing to do with Earth. Considering the Magicians speaking different languages, the abandoned Monastery as the main battleground, and all these bizarre Demons, if this were actually happening on Earth, the world would surely be facing its doom.
However, a group suddenly appeared at the Monastery entrance. They wore Black Body Armor and carried assault rifles—likely mbers inducted into the Tactical System, specialized Cultivators tasked with combat using modern Hot Weapons. Generally, Tactical mbers didn’t need firearms. Most of their adversaries were Awakened Humans or the Demons and Ghosts found lurking in streets and alleys. Compared to firearms, which required extensive practice, the "Clothing" and "Lock" abilities already t their combat needs. But Ren Suo knew from the internal network that Tactical mbers assigned to external missions—like Scouting in mountains or hunting Demons in the wilderness—faced greater environntal and unknown risks. Aside from a few Second-Turn Level combat experts, most ordinary mbers were combat personnel transferred from the military. These individuals were also proficient in Spells like "Clothing" and operated in groups. They could be considered the Mysterious Country’s well-developed and fully ford Transcendent Warriors.
But in the ga, since the characters’ appearances were modified to so extent, how did Ren Suo recognize his acquaintance?
—Because their nas floated above their heads.
Just as Red Hood had "Red Hood" glowing in blood-red light above her head, the Tactical Cultivators appearing in the hall also had their nas displayed above them, albeit without any color effects. Among them was soone nad "Yuan Dang." He had been Ren Suo’s roommate, along with Zhao Huo and Xie Qiansi, during their civil servant training. Later, Ren Suo and the others lost contact with Yuan Dang, only vaguely hearing he had been transferred to a more secretive location for advanced training. Ren Suo had thought he’d likely never see him again, so he was surprised to encounter him in the ga. Although ’Yuan Dang’ was a fairly common na, his prior impression made it easy for Ren Suo to connect this slightly altered face with the one from his mory.
When the Transcendent Warriors of the Mysterious Country spotted Red Hood and the Magician, the warriors naturally saw them in return. They split into two groups, lowered their rifle barrels, and slowly approached the Monastery, calling out loudly, "Who are you?"
At that mont, Red Hood suddenly said, "They’re here."
Ren Suo instantly pressed the dialogue key, pausing the ga, and typed out a line. He had intended to type ’AAAAAH’—the universally recognized cry of alarm—to warn the Transcendent Warriors. But then, he noticed a small character, ’Ya,’ next to the dialogue box. Clicking it revealed options like "Aphalonian," "Mysterious Country language," "English," "French," and so on. This selection, however, didn’t affect the input thod, only the language the Magician would speak.
Does the Magician have mastery of all languages by default? Ren Suo wondered, then typed: "Be careful!"
The Magician’s voice echoed through the Monastery. The Mysterious Kingdom Warriors who were approaching its inner sanctum imdiately halted. anwhile, in the dilapidated, dried-up pond at the Monastery’s center, dark red plasma suddenly oozed from the dark brown soil. The plasma quickly filled and overflowed the pond. Then, a massive hand stretched out from the gore, and a terrifying, giant creature appeared on screen. It stood about three tis the height of a person, clad in what resembled armor but was actually more like a torture device—an inverted bed of nails pressed against its body. Its neck was bare, and in its left hand, it clutched a full-coverage mask depicting a ’weeping compassionate woman’! However, the areas not covered by this "armor" were overgrown with tree roots. A vibrant purple flower even blood where its neck should have been. Its right hand was simply a giant wooden club, its rough bark soaked in dark red blood. The creature stepped out of the pond. Its lower body was supported by two exceedingly slender legs—which weren’t legs at all, but tal prosthetics.
Simultaneously, several Lower Magical Creatures like Goblins and Queen Bees appeared in the Monastery. Normally, the Magician and Red Hood would handle them with ease, but there was no ti for that now!
The Transcendent Warriors, alerted by the Magician’s warning, nervously aid their guns at the giant, head-carrying monster but didn’t fire. Instead, they seized the mont to retreat.
Just then, the Iron Masked Head held by the monster suddenly shrieked, "AAAAAH... Don’t go!"
This demonic cry ca with subtitles, though not in Mandarin; only the Magician and Red Hood could understand it. However, the Transcendent Warriors could already guess its aning from the creature’s posture: the monster was charging at them as they retreated!
"Fire!"
The cacophony of gunfire reverberated through the Monastery like a jarring hymn, but it had little effect. The monster’s Charge slowed under the impact of the bullets, but the roots and armor covering its body were sufficient to protect it from harm! Its imnse size and long strides allowed it to quickly close the distance to the Transcendent Warriors, and it swung its massive club! Although all the Transcendent Warriors managed to Dodge in ti, the flying debris and shockwaves still sent two nearby individuals sprawling, grunting as they were thrown aside.
At that mont, Red Hood and the Magician Teleported over using a Movent Spell. With a loud shout, Red Hood clenched her Offering and summoned a Fiery Fla Giant Axe, over two ters tall, slashing it towards the monster’s exposed waist!
Red Hood shouted, "Humanoid Demons have weaknesses! Its body is all roots; it must be afraid of fire!"
The Fiery Fla Giant Axe, trailing flas, tore a large chunk of roots from the monster’s body. The monster shrieked, its cry surprisingly high-pitched and tender. Then, the monster swung the Iron Masked Head in its left hand, smashing it violently towards Red Hood!
Red Hood easily dodged with a Flash Step and continued attacking the monster with the Fla Great Axe. anwhile, Ren Suo, controlling the Magician, fired Holy Light Bullets at the Transcendent Warriors to heal them, asking, "How did you get in here?"
The Holy Light Bullet’s Healing effect was remarkably potent. Witnessing this, the Transcendent Warriors realized the Magician wasn’t an enemy. The Cultivator nad Cheng Wenchao explained, "We are the vanguard unit scouting this Secret Realm. We entered through an opening that appeared near the edge of Ailan Lake."
While asking, the Magician wasn’t idle. Although his only fire-based Attack was the "Fragnt of the Broad Fire Sword," the Holy Light Bullet itself could deal damage and reduce armor, making him effective as a ranged attacker. So, he continued, "Can you leave now? It’s dangerous here."
"We can’t," Cheng Wenchao replied, shaking his head. "Only Cultivators can enter this place. But once inside, we currently have no way to leave or communicate with the outside."
The Magician turned to Red Hood and asked, "Can they leave this place?"
Red Hood replied, "They are outsiders, just like you. Outsiders can only leave this wicked fruit once the Palace Demon is purified! To the Demon, all outsiders are nourishnt; it won’t let any of you go!"
Ren Suo pondered for a mont, then relayed Red Hood’s words to Cheng Wenchao. "Can you skirmish from a distance and help attack the smaller creatures?" he asked. "Leave this to and... my senior."
Ren Suo considered it. He felt it was inappropriate to refer to the Western-looking Magician and Red Hood using terms like ’senior martial sister’ and ’junior martial brother.’ Besides, Red Hood couldn’t understand Earth languages anyway, so it didn’t really matter what he called her.
The situation was urgent, and the monster was clearly extrely ferocious. Cheng Wenchao readily agreed, "No problem. But may I ask who you are? More Support troops should be arriving soon. Is it possible to avoid further combat?"
The Magician replied, "I am a Magician, Mr. Cheng Wenchao. There’s no escaping this battle—this creature will hunt us down until it can feast on our corpses."
Ren Suo could see Cheng Wenchao was taken aback; he likely rembered he hadn’t ntioned his own na.
The monster shrieked, its voice laced with anguish, "AAAH... I love him! I love him! But why are there so many won around him?!"
The monster’s screams materialized as blood-red letters on the screen. It suddenly charged at the Magician. He imdiately activated his speed Offering to Dodge, simultaneously switching to the Fire Broadsword and slashing viciously at the Iron Masked Head clutched in the monster’s left hand. The Iron Masked Head shrieked. The monster’s body swayed, and it swung its giant wooden club even more violently. However, both the Magician and the Transcendent Warriors had already retreated in the opposite direction, causing all its attacks to miss.
The monster cried out, "I’m willing to give up so much for you! Why do you want to leave?!"
Blood suddenly began to drip from the monster’s feet, causing its movent to change from stepping to a grueso slide. It made little difference, however—the Magician and Red Hood’s rapid Teleports to the left and right were enough to evade its attacks. After several attacks, the monster seed to gain a sliver of cunning. It turned its attention towards the Transcendent Warriors, who were still firing from a distance, intent on killing them!
The Magician shouted, "Get back! Quick!"
Even though Ren Suo, controlling the Magician, shouted a warning almost instantly, and both Red Hood and the Magician continued to pursue and attack, the monster didn’t shift its target. Instead, blood surged from the wooden club in its right hand, transforming it into a terrifying Blood Sickle!
The monster declared, "My blood! This is my blood! This is the fresh blood I’ve squeezed out for you!"
This stance, clearly indicating it was about to unleash a devastating attack, made Ren Suo take a deep breath. He, too, was ready to try out his own ultimate move.He had discovered more useful Offerings in the Equipnt Interface than just the Unlimited Fried Chicken Set.
He activated the Offering: "Secret Records of the Mysterious Sovereign (Chapter One)"!
