He was furious and helpless when he thought about the rumours, from a simple rumour it snowballed into sothing like this. These people even believe he eats children for breakfast because he likes how tender their skins feel.
His ROOT found it more and more difficult to operate in the village, as he couldn't acquire recruits that easily due to him being banned from the orphanages and if any orphanages were seen or known to associate with him then they would be shut down by the people.
He didn't know how they knew he had dealings with said orphanage as he made sure to be as secretive as possible.
He even had the idea of establishing his orphanage but Hiruzen didn't give him his permit and even warned him to stop abducting children.
He was aggrieved and hurt by Hiruzen's words, he felt that Hiruzen was getting more and more strange and unfamiliar. He was not like before when he caved in easily and would accommodate him.
Right now Hiruzen held no sympathy for him. Danzo couldn't help but feel angry, wasn't it just a bunch of no-na orphans?
They would be doing Konoha a favour by joining his ROOT, couldn't Hiruzen understand that he was doing all of this for Konoha?
He was simply exchanging the lives of so nobodys for the peace and prosperity of Konoha! ( Danzo/ ROOT )
