Chapter 861: Jayden’s Tragic Past

The door to my room swung open, and I stepped inside, sensing Jayden’s presence lingering just behind . She followed, almost unconsciously, as if drawn by sothing she didn’t fully understand.

Yet, when I turned to face her, I saw it—the hesitation in her stance, the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes. It was a far cry from the fear that once dominated her expression.

I sat down on the edge of the bed, my gaze never leaving hers. The air between us was thick with unspoken questions, the kind that only surface when the masks start to slip. "Officer Jayden," I said, my voice low and asured, "is sothing bothering you?"

Jayden seed to snap back to reality, as if my words had jolted her out of a trance. She stood there for a mont, her fingers twitching slightly at her sides, before she finally spoke.

"Master... that... I..." She paused, gathering herself. "I want to ask you... Why didn’t you control

like the others? You could have easily done it."

A slow, knowing smirk tugged at the corner of my mouth. "So your detective brain is working again, is it?"

Jayden’s eyes widened slightly, but she didn’t back down. "Master, don’t be angry. I’m just... curious."

I studied her for a long mont, tilting my head as if considering sothing far more intriguing than her question. "Because I found you interesting, Officer Jayden."

My voice was smooth, almost casual, but there was an edge to it—sothing that made her breath hitch. "Now, I have everything with my powers. I could gain anything I desire. But when you have it all..."

I leaned back slightly, my fingers tracing idle patterns on the bedspread. "Life becos a bit boring. So, I have to find sothing... interesting to do."

Jayden processed my words, her expression shifting as she pieced together the implications. The weight of my answer seed to settle over her, and for a mont, she looked almost vulnerable.

"Master... I’m sorry for before," she said quietly, her voice tinged with sothing raw—regret, perhaps, or relief.

I waved a dismissive hand, my smirk softening just a fraction. "I know it wasn’t your fault. I don’t hold it against you."

A visible wave of relief washed over Jayden, her shoulders sagging as she exhaled. The room seed to shrink around us, the air thick with sothing unspoken—sothing electric, sothing dangerous.

Without warning, I pulled her into my arms, my hands gripping her waist possessively. She stiffened, her body tensing with panic.

"Master... don’t," she gasped, her voice trembling. "I’m a married woman."

I ignored her protest. My lips crashed against hers, hungry and demanding, my tongue tracing the seam of her mouth until she gasped, granting

entry.

My free hand slid up her side, my fingers finding the weight of her breast, teasing her nipple through the fabric of her blouse. A shudder ran through her, her body betraying her even as her mind resisted.

"Shh..." I murmured against her lips, my voice a dark purr, my thumb circling her hardened peak. She whimpered, her hands fluttering between pushing

away and clinging to my shirt, torn between guilt and the fire I was igniting inside her.

But then I felt it—the way her body trembled, not with desire, but with sothing deeper. Fear. Sha. The weight of everything she was trying to escape.

I pulled back, my lips lingering just a breath away from hers, my hand still resting possessively on her waist. "Jayden," I said, my voice low and velvety, "why don’t you beco my woman? What do you say?"

Her eyes widened, shock and longing warring in her gaze. "Your woman?" she repeated, her voice barely a whisper. "I’m not worthy of you, Master." A tear slipped down her cheek, and she quickly wiped it away, as if embarrassed by her own vulnerability.

I cupped her face, my thumb brushing away another tear that followed. "I know you’re worried about your daughter," I said gently, my voice a stark contrast to the usual command in my tone.

"Don’t be. I’ll treat her like my own. We’ll be a family, Jayden. And I can give you everything—pleasure, power, protection. Everything you’ve ever wanted, everything you’ve been denied." My fingers trailed down her neck, my touch feather-light, teasing the sensitive skin just above her collarbone.

Jayden’s breath hitched, her lips parting slightly as she struggled to find words. "Master... can I think about it?" she asked, her voice trembling.

I nodded, watching as she exhaled shakily, her shoulders relaxing just a fraction. "Jayden," I said, my voice warm, almost intimate, "call

by my na. Jack."

She nodded again, her fingers twisting nervously in her lap. "Jack," she repeated, as if testing the weight of it on her tongue.

"Tell

about yourself," I urged, my tone inviting, my gaze never leaving hers. I guided her to the edge of the bed, my hand still resting on her waist, my touch possessive but gentle. "Tell

everything."

Jayden hesitated, her eyes dropping to her hands, which were now clenched tightly in her lap.

Then, as if a dam had broken, the words began to spill out, her voice thick with emotion. "I was in the military for ten years," she started, her voice steady at first but growing more fragile with each word.

"I thought I was strong. Invincible. But then..." She paused, swallowing hard. "There was a mission gone wrong. A gang—ard to the teeth. I took a bullet to the thigh." Her fingers trembled as she traced the scar through her pants, her breath hitching. "I bled out in that alley. I should have died."

I listened, my expression unreadable, but my touch never wavering. My thumb drew slow circles on her waist, grounding her, urging her to continue.

"But it wasn’t just that," she whispered, her voice breaking. "There was an RDX blast. I was too close. The flas..." She closed her eyes, her body shuddering as the mory washed over her.

"My back, my arm—they’re covered in scars. Burned. Twisted." Her hands clenched into fists, her nails digging into her palms.

"I used to be beautiful, Jack. Or at least, I thought I was. But after that... my own husband couldn’t even look at . He hasn’t touched

in years." A sob escaped her, and she covered her face with her hands, her shoulders shaking as the tears ca faster.

I pulled her hands away gently, forcing her to et my gaze. "Look at , Jayden," I commanded, my voice firm but not unkind. Her eyes were red-rimd, her cheeks wet with tears, but she obeyed.

"You’re still beautiful," I said, my voice a low growl. "More so, because of what you’ve survived. These scars?"

My fingers trailed lightly over her arm, tracing the raised skin beneath her sleeve. "They’re proof of your strength. Of your resilience. And any man who can’t see that doesn’t deserve you."

She stared at , her breath coming in ragged gasps, as if she couldn’t quite believe what she was hearing. "Jack... I—" she started, but the words caught in her throat.
