"The Dragon Mortality Weapon developed by the Doctor is a type of weapon specifically designed to counter Ether Blood. ’Mortality’ implies death... could this weapon also have the intention of slaying dragons?"

I’m not too clear on the specifics, since I can’t understand most of the terminology involved.

But the Doctor made it very clear in his manuscript: the Dragon Mortality Weapon can absorb Ether Blood and has a chance to degenerate citizens of the Secret Society back into ordinary people.

Although the success rate isn’t high... it has given Yawen great hope and motivation.

"As long as the Ether Blood in my body is extracted and stripped away... at the very least, I could still preserve my own personality, right?"

That alone is enough.

Since penetrating high society, Yawen has continually used her connections to gather information related to the Dragon Mortality Weapon known as ’Dialan’.

First of all, she is certain that Dialan is on this planet, definitely living on Azure Star at this mont.

According to the Doctor’s records, when the Doctor passed away four years ago, the record for ’Dialan’ at the ti was only 13 years old, with no guardian or proof of identity. A 13-year-old child, according to the law, couldn’t possibly leave the planet to venture into the starry sky.

Next, it’s about narrowing down the search range. Information gathering should be about subtracting rather than adding. Utilizing her past experience with the Fourth Rule, Yawen focused her investigation on Dialan’s background and the people she had co into contact with.

Soon, she confird her target group—the students.

Dialan, at the age of 17, doesn’t have many options.

Given her background, Dialan carries the top-grade True Dragon Breed and Titan bloodlines. Such a being, still an immature juvenile, is an easy target for the Magical Nobility eager to enhance their bloodlines, whether for research or breeding purposes. Both options are quite appealing.

Therefore, if Dialan is living alone, the only option on Azure Star is to gain entry into a university and rely on the school’s asylum.

A prominent characteristic of magic civilization is that the Scholarly Faction is also the financial elite. The power of the academic world is more terrifying than the military’s. They are directly in control of the lifelines and progression channels of civilization. Magicians are the exemplary group changed by knowledge. Ard with their accumulated knowledge and extensive connections, the Scholarly Factions can easily outpace capital and independently develop new types of magic weapons or civilian equipnt.

For this reason, schools are the rare sanctuaries untouched by politics, the military, or noble families. Or rather, within the context of magic civilization, educational and scientific research institutions are the most powerful political entities.

Since Dialan has limited choices, Yawen began her investigation in this area.

She was in luck; although Azure Star belongs to a magic civilization, the network of magic civilization shares a similar underlying logic with that of a technological civilization. After entering the interconnected era, most of the protocols and rules are alike.

This ans that certain institutional websites could potentially provide detailed enrollnt lists.

Yawen first looked into the nas of the test candidates every year. The volu of this data was rather large, and after searching through several nearby cities, she found no trace of Dialan’s na.

Later, while having tea and chatting with the wives of the rich and powerful, one of them ntioned using a magic application to check her husband’s hotel records, which sparked an idea in Yawen.

After all, if soone is a candidate, they must stay nearby to rest during the marathon-like magic qualification examination that spans several days, in order to stay refreshed and spirited.

Seizing this opportunity, she quickly found related records—this year, the 17-year-old Dialan stayed in a budget hotel in Elatu City. Yawen promptly followed up and found her examination venue. After greasing so palms and giving out so insignificant gifts, Yawen bribed the staff to provide her with Dialan’s candidate and examination numbers.

Afterward, the rest was not difficult.

Yawen reverse-searched Dialan’s identity information using the examination number, logged into her academic records website with her own decryption tool, and effortlessly found Dialan’s enrollnt information.

"Trevela City... Baizhu Interstellar University, Departnt of Magic Application, freshman, student ID 57571189, ID number..."

It appears she scored quite well; Baizhu Interstellar University is a prestigious school.

Yawen looked at the website information, deep in thought.

Trevela City, it seems Mr. Li Aozi also attended university there.

Although he never ntioned it, with her ability, she could find out Li Aozi’s school anyti.

"This would be a good opportunity to apologize to Mr. Li Aozi..."

Every ti she rembered how she had avoided Li Aozi’s care due to her own tangled emotions and caused various minor quarrels, Yawen felt overwheld with guilt.

After all... Mr. Li Aozi had also shown such concern for her. It was rare for him to pay such attention to others, not to ntion, he had said at the ti:

...............

"What I’m trying to say is—don’t worry, I will always trust you."

"If anything happens to you, Yawen Heskixin, I, Li Aozi, will take responsibility for cleaning up the house. No one but is allowed to kill you."

"It’s not about whether I should or shouldn’t, I can do it, so I just went ahead and did it—as long as you trust , I will continue to trust you."

"No matter what, always rember this: Yawen Heskixin, you an a great deal to ."

...............

Smack.

Yawen covered her cheeks, her ears turning red at the re thought of those words.

No matter what... those words, they were too lethal to her!

"This ti, I need to apologize properly to him and then—I must seize the opportunity to make a good impression on Mr. Li Aozi."

As long as I find Dialan and ask her to draw out the Ether Blood from my body, I can boldly be with Mr. Li Aozi... Perhaps we really might beco lovers.

And then, get married? Have children?

She quickly opened her makeup mirror to check her reflection.

"I do look sowhat attractive, and my figure isn’t bad either, with big breasts and long legs, I should be a good match for Mr. Li Aozi’s handso looks. I just hope the child doesn’t inherit my looks, these scary spider-web eyes... Ah, no good, relying on looks, he’ll definitely think I’m shallow."

But then again, didn’t Li Aozi say I was ’of great significance’ to him?

"I should have a bit more confidence in myself! Yes, that’s the way."

Calming herself down, Yawen patted her cheeks and quickly made a call to the nanny at the villa:

"Sister Annie, I’m planning a trip to Trevela tomorrow. Could you please prepare so dishes that n like in advance?"

Hearing her request, the nanny obviously misunderstood and confidently said:

"Don’t worry, Miss Yawen, I’ve been cooking for thirty years, I guarantee your husband will enjoy the als."

"Not at all, we haven’t gotten that far yet." Yawen denied with her mouth, but her lips couldn’t help but curl into a smile: "—Sister Annie, you’ve been working hard lately, I’ll give you a 30% raise this month."

"Oh my, how can that be?"

"You deserve it."

Yawen chuckled, leaning back in the seat of her luxury car, looking out at the scenery. Even ordinary passersby looked so beautiful to her.

All the effort so far seed not to have been in vain.

Hope was right in front of her eyes.

As long as I leave the Secret, to exist as a person, Mr. Li Aozi will surely co to accept —right, who would dislike a sowhat pretty, modestly wealthy woman, who cares for you, loves you?

"It’s just a pity that my family background isn’t great. If my father hadn’t been imprisoned, I could’ve been the daughter of a president. In ancient tis, I would have been a princess, hehe! A princess, huh..."

Li Aozi is the great hero of Azure Star, a legend.

In fairy tales, heroes and princesses... such a perfect match.

Yawen raised her hand, the sunlight was a bit too glaring, making her feel like her smile was a bit silly.

Silly or not, it didn’t matter anymore.

Sijia, can you see? I haven’t let down your expectations, I’m still trying to live on, and the hope of escaping the darkness is now within reach.

The life that belongs to Yawen Heskixin is finally about to begin.
