After dealing with Land Loyd, a bigger problem faced Lai Anding:
"Simply punishing Him isn’t enough. No matter what, He is still my child. Causing such a big problem and not restoring His reputation will surely make it hard to convince the public, and trouble will arise sooner or later."
Lai Anding raised her hand, her fingertips already turning sowhat blurry.
’Ti is running out.’
Since the beginning of the "From Star Abyss" plan, her life had been on the decline. The massive number of player deaths and revivals, along with maintaining the dical protocol, consud Lai Anding’s emotional and ntal Strength.
Her dedication to the Starry Abyss was unquestionable, and she need not worry about what ca after death.
However, the Pathway of Redemption was the last Pathway still held by the Primordial Abyss, and it was absolutely impossible to hand it over.
When the Primordial Abyss chose to open the first Narrative, the Pathway of Redemption beca the backbone of the entire Narrative. As the Chief God, her days were numbered, and she had to ensure Land Loyd grew quickly.
"Launching another round of public opinion managent is impossible now. The long closure of the forums has already affected many players, causing them to quit the ga. Continuing to maintain the water army would surely have negative effects."
After careful consideration, Lai Anding decided to seek Plyer’s help.
Her figure disappeared instantly, and when she reappeared, she was already in the sealed spaceti that had once brought Oshen.
Plyer sat in the center of the space, still with a lone table, an enigma as to how he managed to keep the server connection running.
"You seem a bit upset, Your Excellency Lai Anding."
Player Plyer shuffled a deck of cards, speaking without looking up to Lai Anding, who entered the isolated space:
"You’ve paid quite a cost this ti. The Primordial Abyss has already shifted the pressure onto , and I bet they’ll soon co to question you... My advice is to act quickly."
"That’s nothing, the Primordial Abyss will at most give a verbal punishnt. With so many matters to occupy it, it won’t be angered by just a mischievous child."
Lai Anding was unconcerned. She walked over to Plyer, looking at the cards in his hand, and curiously asked:
"What are these?"
"The All-Knowledge Cards of Scholar Lyle Sventler, different from the Destiny Card Set that holds the fragnts of the Eye of Discernnt. This set of All-Knowledge Cards records the analyses and understanding of hidden professions by past Scholars. The Primordial Abyss has been urging to upgrade the dical protocol, and I can only find inspiration from here."
Plyer explained clearly:
"Back then, the Eternal Speaker escaped, stealing the Chief God history of the Raiding Pathway, also dragging down the Emperor and the Scholar, apparently due to so personal grievances. The Dynasty Giants of the Emperor were cursed, unable to form a civilized clan, and the Scholar lost 80% of the All-Knowledge Cards, leaving him unable to leverage the abilities of other Secret Citizens."
"Such an important matter, you should have ntioned it sooner." Lai Anding said calmly.
"Your Starry Abyss Divine Race didn’t tell that Redd Gold stole the history of the Raiding Chief God—Let guess, you did it on purpose to make Severston personally descend to the Starry Abyss, right."
"Even if Severston’s history were stolen, telling Him it was Redd Gold would just result in Him hearing ’Severston’."
"Hmm, it seems you care quite a bit about your own people."
Plyer chuckled:
"Lai Anding Immortal Spirit, we’re both in the sa boat, no need to argue over this—after all, cooperation is crucial, right?"
"I have no objections." Lai Anding smiled slightly: "Now that we’re all in the sa family, unity is the primary task. But even amongst close friends and relatives, there should be so private space—Earthlings probably agree on this."
"Naturally."
Plyer raised a hand, drawing a well-dressed Lawyer card, and his eyes flashed with blue light, then the card turned to ash.
Plyer folded his arms, beginning to contemplate:
"Hmm, it’s indeed a bit tricky."
"Encountered trouble?" Lai Anding asked.
"It’s confird that soone on the Secret side has noticed the dical protocol, and they intentionally strengthened the Ether’s destructive power against Descenders. This thod is akin to an armor-piercing shell: first using heat and pressure to lt the armored suit, making the protection fragile, and anwhile, the real hardened tal turns into a tal jet, piercing through space, cutting down all personnel."
Plyer scratched his head:
"There’s essentially no better counterasure for such a weapon, unless by adopting active interception—when Ether damage descends on a Descender, imdiately sever the network, forcing the player offline, akin to abandoning the player’s account to ensure their safety. Though this would still harm the player—still, I think such minor injuries wouldn’t need your intervention, the hospital alone could handle them."
"Interesting." Lai Anding nodded: "Do you need my assistance?"
"To establish an active interception system, the program must thoroughly identify the different Ether traits of each occupation, akin to deep learning in AI—which ans I need more All-Knowledge Cards to build a large model to counter various Citizen attacks."
Plyer said:
"Oshen is already quite busy, just assign soone else specifically for this."
"Doesn’t sound too dangerous." Lai Anding said.
"What danger could there be? All-Knowledge Cards aren’t like Destiny Cards, scattered in different places and held by various collectors, it’s just a matter of spending so money and taking so trips to complete it, and the rewards are substantial, making it a gilded task."
Plyer looked aningfully at Lai Anding:
"How about it? Do you have a suitable candidate?"
"This task involves the repair of the dical protocol, a significant matter, and can’t be taken lightly. It must be completed by soone trustworthy."
Lai Anding crossed her arms, displaying a helpless expression:
"It’s just that Oshen is busy, otherwise, he would undoubtedly be the best candidate. He’s strong and the most reliable among us. Alas, given the situation, the hope lies with getting Land Loyd. If possible, I truly wouldn’t choose this guy."
"Heh."
Plyer continued to laugh, spreading his hands:
"Don’t be like that, Lai Anding Immortal Spirit, always give the young ones a chance. Who hasn’t made mistakes?"
"Hmph, it’s not like there’s another choice, nor do I have a personal bias, otherwise why would Land Loyd be assigned this task?"
Lai Anding put a hand on her hip, displaying a displeased deanor:
"But given the urgency, I can only choose him."
Plyer shrugged:
"Think of it as letting the kid atone through rit, eh? Land Loyd is to inherit your mantle one day; who hasn’t erred? When they do, they just slowly correct them."
"Since you put it that way, it’d seem petty to complain further."
Lai Anding sighed:
"Send the coordinates, I’ll go notify that child to take action imdiately—are you sure it’s safe? I’ve already forced him to be deployed to the Layer Abyss, and if he infiltrates the Layer Abyss again, the Primordial Abyss might notice."
"Rest assured, at most, it’s internal Narrative activities, all within the Inherent Ti Domain, how could there be any danger?"
Lai Anding was relieved upon hearing this.
"Yes, it seems so."
This world has no safer place than the inside of the Inherent Ti Domain.
Ti was pressing, she had to hurry back to continue maintaining the dical protocol, so she notified Land Loyd of the ssage and turned to leave.
