The [History Confirmation] skill is the ability to reveal what events have occurred in a given location.

In the ga, it was mainly used to uncover information that couldn’t be found through normal ans.

It’s a highly useful skill, one that I would go to great lengths to acquire. However, not every event gets recorded in it.

The only events that are recorded in [History Confirmation] are those that could impact history in so way.

A regular day where soone wakes up, eats, chats with friends, and goes back to sleep is not recorded.

When it was still a ga, I thought it was probably omitted due to resource limitations, but seeing that it hasn’t changed in reality, it seems there’s so kind of standard.

[The Kidnapping of the Cleve Young Lady]

[Friday evening. While Lady Cleve was away, a follower of the Void infiltrated from outside. Using the powers of the evil god, the intruder waited until the mont Lady Cleve fell asleep, then bound her. The follower, having extracted several pieces of information using the evil god’s power, then pondered what to do with the now useless Lady Cleve. The issue was that the academy’s servants cleaned her room every day. If they acted hastily, they were likely to be discovered before their mission was complete. The follower, looking at the trembling Lady Cleve, recalled the information from the Apostle and carried her over their shoulder. And…]

The book’s content stopped there.

The rest of the events would unfold outside the room.

It didn’t matter much. I would just follow the direction in which the record continued...

"Lucy?!"

I was almost about to stumble when Joy rushed in to catch .

I steadied myself, feeling dazed in her arms, and took a deep breath, stepping back a little.

"Are you okay?"

"...Hmph. You’re panicking. Joy, you really are an idiot. You get scared just because I pretend to be weak. If I collapsed right now, would you cry like a baby? Huh?"

"Don’t joke around like that! You really scared !"

"Hmph. Heh-heh."

I chuckled to soothe Joy’s worry, but at the sa ti, I was reflecting inwardly.

More than half of the divinity I had been holding had disappeared.

I wasn’t carrying a small amount of divinity, but half of it vanished in one go because of [History Confirmation].

Naturally, I was starting to feel dizzy.

This is strange.

[History Confirmation] wasn’t supposed to be like this.

When it was a ga, it was a passive skill that could be used at any ti.

That bastard, Ganshu. Did he do sothing to ss with it because he doesn’t like ?

Given that he’s a nasty little brat locked up in the library, there’s definitely a chance he tampered with it.

Ah, damn it. I should’ve punched him in the head back then.

I really should’ve seen him cry and whine like that.

While I was silently venting my frustration at Ganshu, I explained what I had just seen to Grandpa.

Grandpa’s comnt about it being more realistic to hide her sowhere in the academy rather than try to break through the academy’s defenses made sense. I nodded.

Despite the Void’s powers causing a breach, the academy’s security is still stricter than usual.

Due to the past incidents, they had to be extra cautious. It’s more realistic to hide her inside the academy than risk getting caught while trying to break through.

‘Hmm. I have a few ideas, but there are so many that it’s hard to narrow them down.’

Places where people could be hidden inside the academy?

There’s no shortage of them.

Just the places that co to mind right now number in the dozens.

If I include areas that are difficult for regular students to access, the number would increase dramatically.

After pondering for a mont, I decided to ask for help from a new ally.

I wanted to find where the young lady of Cleve was.

[Go to the ghost.]

The ghost, that must be referring to Adry.

...Yes, that makes sense.

With his ability to transcend physical limitations, he could search the academy with speed incomparable to an ordinary person.

Thinking about how Adry can detect malevolent energy only makes it more efficient.

As I thought about how proud I was of choosing this skill in the past, I left the room with Joy.

Once back on the academy street, I found myself wishing only to return to the dormitory and get so rest.

The weekend had been so eventful that even after resting, my body felt drained.

I had spent ti with people who could threaten her family with a single word.

I had fought black mages who were truly trying to kill her.

In the midst of it all, I faced countless deaths.

Vishi.

"It’s okay."

In most cases, Vishi was just a stepping stone for Adry’s movents, but that wasn’t the whole story.

During the battle, Vishi had certainly hard others by her own will.

And with that death, she hard others again.

As a necromancer, she intervened between life and death.

I’ve cast a spell to strengthen your mind.

"It’s really fine."

But...

"I told you it’s fine."

With a growl, Vishi finally ca to her senses and forced a smile at Adry.

"I’m sorry."

Vishi...

"Don’t worry. After so rest, it’ll be nothing."

Vishi, who had rejected Adry’s suggestion, walked aimlessly back toward the academy when, suddenly, she saw her reflection in the window.

Her eyes, filled with a dark tinge, reminded her of soone broken.

Wow. I really am no necromancer material. To learn magic that always keeps death close by, and yet I’m shaking like this after just a day of hardship.

"Vishi?"

Vishi, lanting her own incompetence, turned her head at the soft voice from beside her.

There stood the person she most wanted to avoid right now.

"Are you okay?"

The saint of the Church of the Divine, Faye, was looking at her with concerned eyes.

Vishi didn’t think that Faye’s kindness was insincere.

Her actions were too devout to be described as pretentious.

Such a kind, pure person would surely harbor disgust if she found out I’m a necromancer.

If she knew I’ve killed others, she’d condemn .

If I’m going to be rejected anyway, I might as well reject her first.

"Uh... It doesn’t seem like we’re in a state to talk."

"...Huh?"

"I’ll be a bit more extre. Please understand."

At words that didn’t seem to match the title of ‘saint’, Vishi blinked in surprise, but in that mont, Faye’s hand touched her forehead.

Vishi felt the divine energy flow into her, but by then, her limbs had already lost their strength.

Like a puppet with its strings cut, she was about to collapse, but Faye gently caught her.

You! What are you doing!?

"Don’t worry, Ghost. I have no intention of harming her."

As Faye smiled softly, Adry’s face showed confusion.

...You knew?

"Of course. Though I look like this, I’ve been through everything as a saint of the Church of the Divine. How could I not know of the existence of necromancy?"

Then why didn’t you...

"Seeing that Lady Patran left you alone, I didn’t think you were a bad person. And if I acted like I knew, I thought it would make Vishi uncomfortable."

Adry furrowed his brow at the suggestion that if Vishi had been fine today, Faye would have left her alone.

Does a saint get to break the rules of the church?

"It’s fine. I’m a fake. Even if I do sothing a bit bad, it doesn’t matter."

Faye said this with a smile, continuing to perform her magic on Vishi.

Wait! If you use divine magic on Vishi...

"I understand your concern, but it’s fine. There will be no problem."

Faye’s assertion was not a lie. Normally, divine magic should have been deadly for a necromancer like Vishi, but strangely, it only made her expression more relaxed.

...What did you do?

"To put it simply, I used a trick."

As she continued to explain in a gentle tone while performing various asures, Adry shut his mouth and stepped back.

The priests he knew were extre when it ca to magic, always willing to eradicate those who crossed the line.

That wasn’t wrong.

It was the necromancers who chose persecution, after all.

The priests were simply doing their job.

So.

The unusual one here was the priest standing before him.

"Hey, Ghost?"

Adry.

"Ah, it’s you, Adry. What a lovely na."

Enough with the formalities. What is it?

"I want to take Vishi to the dormitory. Would you guide us?"

...Follow .

Adry sighed and accepted, but her role was soon to be over.

As soon as Faye took a few steps while carrying Vishi, others ca forward, eager to help.

Amidst the many offers, Faye reached Vishi’s room, laid her on the bed, and perford more actions.

Vishi’s expression relaxed further. The girl, who had been trembling and waking from nightmares every few minutes, now had a foolish smile on her face, and Adry felt a sense of relief.

"Please continue talking to her when she wakes up. There’s nothing better for maintaining ntal peace than a conversation. Oh, and please keep secret that I noticed. It might cause her distress."

Faye continued to worry about Vishi rather than talking about rewards.

Adry, who had been quietly listening, sighed, resting her chin on her hand.

You know, you just called yourself a fake.

"Yes."

I get why you said it, but don’t worry about it. If others call you a saint, then you truly are one.

"...Haha. I didn’t expect to hear that from a necromancer. Thank you."

As Faye maintained her humility, Adry pouted slightly.

Sigh. If that arrogant little brat hadn’t been such a fool, you’d have been the saint of the Divine.

"Don’t say such disrespectful things."

Her words were firm, and at that mont, Adry cautiously glanced at Faye.

From the warmth of earlier, there was now a cold glare in her eyes.

"That’s entirely His role."

Overwheld by that gaze, Adry froze, and Faye turned her head toward the door.

As Faye’s expression softened, Adry beca more concerned.

"Adry?"

...Uh. Uh?

"Please never say anything like that again."

Ah. Okay. I’ll be careful.

"Good. That’s enough."

Not long after, Faye greeted Lucy, who had burst in through the door, and Adry significantly revised her opinion of Faye.

That woman was far more dangerous than she seed.
