Griffons equipped with twin-turbocharged jet engines could easily achieve subsonic cruising flight; supersonic and subsonic flight offer two completely different experiences.
Before perfected knight protective gear had been developed, knights had to devise their own thods of protection.
If a knight were a hero, they could construct a magic shield for temporary protection. If not, the flight system, detecting the absence of a shield during afterburner engagent, would automatically disengage supersonic acceleration.
This was a safety asure for Gryphon Knights.
Constructing a teardrop-shaped magic shield was also a significant test of a hero’s casting abilities. Whether the shape t the standard determined the ultimate flight speed and energy consumption rate.
With Chui Chui’s magical assistance, Yan Xing naturally found it easy to construct a teardrop-shaped magic shield.
The corresponding magic circle materialized before Yan Xing. As the magic runes within it shifted, a teardrop-shaped shield unfolded before him.
Its brilliance flowed, its hue reminiscent of amber.
It protected both the griffon and the knight behind it.
Then, with a sonic boom, the griffon Kayla broke the sound barrier and entered supersonic flight.
Within Yan Xing’s helt, the magic energy reserve depleted rapidly, consuming several tis more energy than at cruising speeds.
The Gryphon Armor’s aerodynamic layout was not yet perfect, so forcefully entering supersonic flight was literally burning money.
It wasn’t just the rapid energy consumption; the turbocharged engines also suffered severe wear.
Fortunately, given the current aerial combat situation, subsonic speeds were sufficient.
Supersonic speed could serve as a supplent in ergency situations.
After experiencing supersonic flight, Yan Xing disengaged the supersonic mode. The griffon Kayla returned to its normal cruising speed, and a cry of relief resonated in Yan Xing’s ears.
The flight had been extrely intense and nerve-wracking for the griffon as well.
Allowing the griffon a mont to adjust to the current speed, Yan Xing began testing its maneuverability.
With just its agile wings, a griffon could easily outmaneuver any aircraft.
It could decelerate from high-speed flight to a complete stop in an incredibly short ti.
It could execute consecutive abrupt changes in direction.
During a dive, it could pull up at the very last mont, just skimming the ground.
Riding on the griffon’s back, Yan Xing experienced extre maneuvers; a roller coaster was truly child’s play in comparison.
However, this was still not the limit of the griffon’s abilities.
As Chui Chui had said, it was precisely the knight on its back that limited the griffon’s maneuverability.
In any case, Yan Xing was extrely satisfied with this Gryphon Armor.
Its introduction would allow the Eternal Domain Air Force to achieve a degree of aerial superiority within a designated airspace, even with fewer numbers.
"What about weapons?" Yan Xing looked around but found none, so he asked Chui Chui.
Chui Chui answered, "Master, given the altitude and flight speeds of ordinary griffon combat, double-barreled shotguns are barely usable. In high-speed, large-scale aerial combat, none of the weapons we currently possess are suitable for this Gryphon Armor. I suggest we look to the real world for these weapons."
In the Magic World, Gryphon Knight aerial combat primarily involved close-quarters fighting and the use of bows and crossbows; hero units would use magic. In the battle of Nuta City, the Eternal Domain’s Gryphon Knights had gained a considerable advantage using double-barreled shotguns.
Using their self-developed shotguns with the Gryphon Armor would be a disservice to such expensive equipnt. Moreover, given its high cost, offensive efficiency was paramount; it couldn’t be treated as expendable. The weapons would have to be purchased from the real world. Fortunately, an appropriate and reliable source was available. The Renlun Investnt Bank’s security forces were ard to the teeth, truly capable of operating in the sky, on land, and under the sea. The Gryphon Island armory was full of top-notch gear. I should talk to Feng Tingyue.
Yan Xing concluded the weaponry testing for the Gryphon Armor, a piece of equipnt he was very fond of.
"After further testing and resolving any identified issues, it can go into mass production," he declared. "The Eternal Domain Air Force is to order 200 sets. Deliver them as soon as possible, start training imdiately, and ensure they achieve combat capability quickly. We don’t have much ti. Also, design a set for my steed, Shadow. Use all the best materials and technology available."
After flying the griffon, Yan Xing still had his beloved horse Shadow on his mind.
Shadow’s top aerial speed had not yet reached the sound barrier. Being slower than the griffon made Yan Xing sowhat uncomfortable.
Custom armor exclusively for Shadow had to be arranged.
Chui Chui added this research task to its agenda.
Having experienced the Gryphon Armor, Yan Xing, accompanied by the goblin Gaga, proceeded to the next workshop.
The Magical Protective Plate was one of the collaborative developnt projects between the Eternal Domain Alchemy Laboratory and the Goblin Alchemy Factory.
It was part of the truck modification plan.
The goal was to develop a reliable armor plate for the new trucks, balancing defense with lightweight construction. It needed to allow cargo and personnel to escape safely during an attack.
If successful, this Magical Protective Plate could be used not only for trucks but also in many other applications.
The Eternal Domain Alchemy Laboratory provided high-strength alloys and their processing, while the Goblin Alchemy Factory was responsible for developing enchantnts compatible with the alloys.
After a period of collaborative developnt, the truck R&D departnt finally produced a viable finished product.
Chui Chui controlled an alchemy robot to bring over a Magical Protective Plate the size of a book.
Yan Xing took it and found it much lighter than he had expected.
Examining it, Yan Xing could see from the side that the protective plate was composed of three layers.
