The battle went too smoothly, too easily, which instead put Gao Yang in a very awkward and frustrating position.
"How can it be like this?"
"Why can’t it be? You know reality is often the most exaggerated."
After a brief conversation, Glolov patted Gao Yang on the shoulder and said, "Don’t think too much, go in and take over the equipnt. This battle ends here."
Gao Yang shook his head, smiled bitterly, and said, "Actually, we should really be thankful. It’s never a bad thing to have such a conversation."
After a few bitter smiles, Gao Yang said to Salim, "Brother, take your people inside. I think the people inside should surrender. You go take the prisoners, and I’ll go take the equipnt."
Salim was already at the peak of excitent. The battle was unbelievably easy, surely a good thing rather than bad.
Salim led his people inside to take and guard the prisoners. As the Houthis Ard Forces soldiers entered the camp one after another, no more battles occurred afterward, so the situation was indeed just as Gao Yang predicted, leaving only the task of taking the prisoners and equipnt.
Gao Yang lifted his gun and shouted, "Then let’s go in as well. Although it’s unlikely there will be any battle, let’s be more vigilant. We’ve had enough unexpected occurrences today, and I don’t want any more bad surprises."
With increased vigilance, Gao Yang and the few left to provide cover followed into the camp.
Everywhere were people from the Houthis Ard Forces. The soldiers staying in the camp left their barracks in groups, then squatted or sat at designated spots. The battle was not only easy to an excessive degree, but even the surrender was excessively smooth.
Shortly after entering the camp, Gao Yang heard Li Jinfang say excitedly, "Boss, we found the artillery! Artillery, tanks, armored vehicles, they’re all here!"
Gao Yang was finally spirited and exclaid with surprise and delight, "Where! How many cannons are there?"
Li Jinfang shouted, "We’ve hit the jackpot! Six 2S3 self-propelled artillery, there must be over a dozen towed cannons, all stored in the warehouses, several T55 tanks, BMP1 armored vehicles, and 120mm self-propelled mortars. We’ve really hit the jackpot this ti!"
Gao Yang was ecstatic and imdiately said, "Keep an eye on those self-propelled artillery! We don’t want anything else, just the artillery! Guard all the ammo trucks and support vehicles; no one is allowed to touch them!"
Ending the call, Gao Yang imdiately told Jansen, "Radio! Quickly notify Wild Duck to co over quickly!"
Informing Rebrov to hurry over, Gao Yang and a few others ran quickly to reach the warehouse where Li Jinfang had discovered.
"We followed the tanks here. Initially, we wanted to take out the tanks, but then we saw, haha! This is the storage area for heavy equipnt!"
Li Jinfang couldn’t stop smiling. On his left sat dozens of prisoners, while on his right were individual warehouses with self-propelled artillery parked inside.
Gao Yang looked around, took a deep breath, and muttered to himself, "What am I thinking? I can understand armored units living with the infantry, but why are the armored units and their equipnt separated? Shouldn’t they stay with their vehicles so they can mobilize quickly if sothing happens?"
Eileen urgently said, "What are you thinking? Everything is normal in this place!"
Gao Yang patted his chest and shouted, "Inform Vorvitsky to bring the recruits over to watch the prisoners. Then, then, I don’t even know what to do next..."
Thinking about what to do next, Gao Yang exclaid excitedly, "Right! Check whether these cannons can be used. Also, interrogate these people, ask who are artilleryn, they should know where the ammunition depot is, and control the ammunition depot!"
Although he had given orders, an overly excited Gao Yang couldn’t wait any longer, so he shouted, "Who knows how to operate self-propelled artillery? Who can drive them? Go check the fuel levels, and move the artillery out first!"
Glolov frowned and said, "Is it necessary to be so urgent? Wait for Wild Duck and the others to co before moving."
Gao Yang waved his hand and said, "No, I’m uneasy!"
After saying that, Gao Yang lowered his voice and told the others of Satan, "I can’t stay calm. This camp is too large. Who knows if soone will resist, and there’s a possibility of enemies from other places coming to support. Overall, I think our main task now is to quickly take these artillery and leave."
At this point, one could clearly see who had undergone proper special training and who hadn’t.
Taylor raised his hand and said, "Boss, I can operate the self-propelled artillery. Just operating them won’t be an issue."
Eileen also said, "I don’t have a problem either, these things are quite similar."
With that, Taylor and Eileen entered one of the self-propelled artillery pieces. After studying the cockpit for a while, they began to ignite it. However, after so whirring noises, the self-propelled artillery did not start.
Eileen soon ca out of the self-propelled artillery with a somber face, shook her head at Gao Yang and said, "Can’t start it. I’ll try another one."
Eileen also got into another self-propelled artillery, which then began to groan and moan. But after a few puffs of oil smoke, the diesel engine still did not start.
Eileen climbed out of the cockpit again and shook her head at Gao Yang, "No, I think there’s a problem with the engine."
"The engine is fine. There’s an intake preheat switch next to the ignition switch. Check if the intake preheat switch is on. It’s too hot here, and if they turned on the preheat switch, it could cause unstable starts or stalling. Check it out."
The speaker wasn’t from the Satan group, but a prisoner.
Without lights and in the darkness, Gao Yang and his team used night vision devices to observe their surroundings. Glancing at the speaker, Gao Yang saw a man among the group of prisoners looking up at Eileen.
Eileen paused, then got back into the self-propelled artillery. Soon she stuck her head out again and said, "The preheat switch is off."
Everyone’s attention turned to that prisoner.
The prisoner was sowhat interesting because he spoke Russian and sat among the tank crew prisoners. He wasn’t wearing a uniform, instead clad in work clothes stained with oil spots, with two particularly tacky little mustaches on his lips.
"Hey, you, tell what’s going on."
Upon hearing Gao Yang’s words, the mustached prisoner suddenly froze, glanced around in the darkness, and then had a look of annoyance on his face as he loudly said, "If it’s not the preheat switch then I don’t know. I... I’m a tank crewman; I don’t know about the diesel engines used in self-propelled artillery."
