826: Chapter 817: The Last Piece of the Puzzle

Every mber of the Satan rcenary Corps was versatile, and for critical roles, there were backup candidates to ensure that no single capability was completely lost in case of casualties.

First, take Gao Yang, who was a marksman and could also serve as a sniper and shoot a shotgun while acting as an assault trooper.

In modern warfare, the role of a sniper within a squad is significant.

If Cui Bo were to encounter any issues, Gao Yang could imdiately take over as the sniper, and conversely, if Gao Yang faced any problems, Cui Bo could also move forward imdiately and fill the marksman role.

Gao Yang and Cui Bo already had the ability to interchange positions; it’s just that each had their specializations, but in an ergency, there would definitely be no problems.

Thus, whether in the marksman or sniper role, the Satan rcenary Corps were doubly insured.

The role of the machine gunner was too important, but no one could replace Glolov in that position.

When a role is elevated to the top tier on this planet, equipping two equally skilled experts in the sa position becos extravagantly unrealistic.

Yet, if Glolov really encountered any issues, Tommy could imdiately step up as the machine gunner, and there were also Frey and Eileen—even Li Jinfang could serve as next-in-line machine gunners.

In any case, even if the Satan rcenary Corps lost Glolov in battle, they would never lose their machine gun fire suppression.

Then there were the mortars.

Tommy, needless to say, was a treasure-level gunner, and having another gunner of the sa caliber as a backup for Tommy was impossible.

However, Glolov knew how to use mortars too.

If Tommy was lost, Glolov could step in, and if Glolov was unavailable, Rafael along with Li Jinfang and Eileen would also be competent with mortars, ensuring that the mortars would not fall silent when needed.

Next were the rocket launchers.

Frey specialized as a rocket launcher operator and was accurate, but if Frey was lost, anyone in the Satan rcenary Corps could imdiately use a rocket launcher, although accuracy was out of the question.

Furthermore, there were grenades.

Nowadays, not only was Frey a rocket launcher operator, but he was also a grenadier.

Everyone knew how to throw grenades, but Frey’s grenades had an edge due to his talent and intense training.

In this respect, Frey, like Gao Yang, Glolov, and Tommy, was irreplaceable.

Unfortunately, even though the range of grenades was sowhat short, Frey’s accuracy elevated the single soldier weapon to a new height.

Then, there was the military dic.

The Satan rcenary Corps were fortunate, or rather, had much to be envied by other rcenary groups.

With the best configurations already in place for roles like marksman, machine gunner, and mortar operator, they managed to attain equally high standards for the usually hard-to-fill role of military dic; luxury and redundancy combined.

In many cases, having a good military dic ant surviving serious injuries; without one, severe injuries were lethal, and with a diocre dic, even minor injuries could prove fatal.

If the setup of the Satan rcenary Group’s military dics were to be disclosed, rcenaries would break their necks trying to join Satan’s ranks.

Although Bruce and Andy He each excelled in either battlefield first aid or more in-depth follow-up treatnt, the combination of Bruce and Andy He was more perfect, more luxurious, a suprely lavish lineup.

Only in regards to the military dic did the Satan rcenary Corps achieve equal standards of redundancy, unlike other positions where stakes were deadly; this position, however, was life-saving, and those who could save lives were absolutely indispensable.

Finally, ca the fire assault specialists— the most abundant in the infantry combat system of modern warfare.

The most abundant role ant it was foundational; without the fire assault specialists, Gao Yang and his colleagues in other roles would be rendered redundant.

Despite being remarkable in roles like marksman, sniper, machine gunner, mortar operator, and rocket launcher, as well as the military dic, they were all ultimately supporting the fire assault specialists to create better conditions for the final confrontation.

Of course, marksn and machine gunners could independently complete a mission occasionally, but such cases were rare, and battles typically required fire assault specialists to conclude the combat, just as modern human warfare ultimately relies on infantry to conquer enemy territory.

Fighting only naval or aerial battles is, of course, a form of warfare, capable of achieving the objectives of warfare, but these aren’t complete forms of warfare, nor the ultimate manifestation of warfare.

To put it simply, imagine if the Third World War occurred.

Can you envision it without infantry involvent?

More drastically, imagine a war aid at national and racial extinction occurring now—would it be possible without infantry involvent?

Because the role of fire assault specialists was so crucial, they constituted the most nurous position.

It is quite normal for a sniper to support ten assault troopers charging forward, but ten snipers supporting one assault trooper charging forward would be abnormal.

The position of Fire Assault Specialist, because it occupies most of the numbers in a team’s combat operations, does not easily shine like other roles.

However, skilled fighters accomplish great feats without fanfare.

The more capable the assault specialist, the less likely they are to encounter dangerous situations, the more easily they can resolve battles under favorable conditions, and it seems as if no battle had taken place at all by the ti they’re done.

Not every infantry can be called a Fire Assault Specialist.

In most rcenary groups, the role of Fire Assault Specialist is as vital as that of a Marksman or Machine Gunner, if not more so.

It is only because of the high requirents for mbers in the Satan rcenary Corps that this position appears as if any infantry could fulfill it.

A good Fire Assault Specialist is as rare as a good Marksman, Sniper, or Machine Gunner, and Satan has an ultra-luxury setup in this role.

Li Jinfang and Eileen are two daggers in the position of assault specialists, highly specialized and multi-skilled.

Their specialization lies precisely in the role of assault specialists.

Thus, in the role of Fire Assault Specialist, the Satan rcenary Corps not only possesses two top-of-the-line configurations but also has the double assurance of mutual substitution.

Furthermore, Eileen can also pilot helicopters, which is one of her multifunctional roles.

As for Li Jinfang, he is capable of many things, but his combat skills are what elevate him to the sa standard as his ability as an assault specialist.

rcenary groups aren’t like regular armies; regular armies hardly ever resort to hand-to-hand combat, while for rcenaries, situations that only fists can resolve shouldn’t be too frequent.

In such cases, Gao Yang would have the confidence to throw Li Jinfang out to solve any problem with his superior close combat skills—an important multifunctional option beyond his role as an assault specialist.

Of course, this is provided that Li Jinfang can overco his psychological issues; otherwise, Gao Yang would lose his number one assault specialist and top-tier fighter.

Then there’s Rafael, who’s a competent assault specialist.

Although not as good as Li Jinfang and Eileen, he is definitely skilled, yet his primary focus remains being a Blaster, and he is top-notch at that.

Lucica, quiet and unassuming with little presence normally, becos an undisputed commander once she enters jungle warfare.

Jungle combat is her specialty, and she is certainly more than qualified in the role of Fire Assault Specialist.

Then there’s Andy He, whose nickna reflects his value and function.

Whether as a doctor or an assault specialist, Andy He is an excellent choice, which is why even soone with Destin’s high standards could comnd Gao Yang for discovering a gem.

A rcenary group with a complete setup, equipped with top-tier specialists at every position, and Gao Yang as a shooter capable of decisive action from close to long range—it must be said, the Satan rcenary Corps is truly formidable.

Each mber of the Satan rcenary Corps exhibits the aning of “specialized but versatile”.

Even Bruce, solely a military dic, is capable of engaging in combat, which leads Gao Yang to see no position needing reinforcent by Jansen.

Jansen’s primary role is a scout, offering air reconnaissance and long-distance positioning capabilities, which were previously lacking in Satan.

While Jansen’s specialty is set, Gao still struggles to find where Jansen is needed most.

Thus, training Jansen as a real jack-of-all-trades, a dedicated one, seems a fine choice.

Glolov needs an assistant shooter to help carry ammunition and change barrels, enabling greater efficacy of the machine gun.

However, giving him a dedicated assistant shooter is wasteful since machine guns are not always needed.

Tommy also needs an assistant shooter to carry and load shells, but just like with Glolov, providing a dedicated assistant shooter is too wasteful.

Even Frey and Cui Bo require assistant shooters, the reason none are provided thus far is simply due to waste, especially after Gao Yang set the rcenary group’s pay and spoils distribution system, which indeed beca too lavish and wasteful.

If Jansen could be trained not only as a dedicated scout but also as an assistant shooter capable of supporting in every position, then his arrival imdiately becos very important.

Imagine in field combat, needing enhanced machine gun firepower, Jansen could serve as Glolov’s assistant, reinforcing a mortar, he could stand in as Tommy’s helper, targeting tanks or armored vehicles, he could help Frey carry an extra couple of rocket launchers, engaging in street or indoor assaults, even carrying extra grenades or joining the fray himself—such a multipurpose candidate would naturally be important.

Realizing the most suitable position for Jansen, Gao Yang’s heart started racing, because if Jansen could fulfill the roles he envisaged, then the last missing piece of the Satan rcenary Corps could perfectly fall into place.
