751: Chapter 742 Aerial Photographer and Radar

Catherine was not surprised by Gao Yang’s attitude.

After sighing softly, Catherine stopped talking, knowing what Gao Yang did, so she couldn’t possibly persuade Gao Yang to join in any filming project.

After walking in silence for a while, Gao Yang laughed, “And Adele, I thought she would co with you to pick

up.”

Catherine sighed and said, “She’s not feeling well, you know, won’s nstrual cycles, quite troubleso.

But you’ll see her soon enough.”

Walking in silence once again, Gao Yang waved his hand and said, “If you have sothing to say, you can tell

directly.”

Catherine nodded and responded, “I don’t know if this will put you in a difficult position, but I want to ask for your help with Martin.

Martin is a good man, and I don’t want to see him go bankrupt.

I an no offense; I just hope you can help him film the Akuri tribe as much as possible.

If so, maybe he still has a chance to sell his docuntary.”

Gao Yang chuckled, “Is that all?

It’s too simple.

Of course, there’s no problem.

After all, this trip has given

a chance to find my tribe, and the first one I should thank is Martin.

Without him, there wouldn’t be your filming crew.”

Catherine shrugged and said, “Although Martin can’t possibly achieve his wish, this result should satisfy him.

He’s been worried sick these days, and he has always planned to convince you by paying you, hoping you’d agree to be on cara.”

Gao Yang laughed out loud and said, “Well, he’s going to have to prepare a hefty sum then, at least enough to make

willing to give up my current job and change careers to beco a TV star.”

Catherine murmured, “I do hope you can change your profession.

Maybe becoming a star isn’t such a bad idea.”

Perhaps feeling it not suitable to discuss with Gao Yang about what he should do, Catherine murmured her suggestion, then quickly changed the subject, “Let’s talk about our achievents these past few days.

Our biggest accomplishnt is finding out for sure that the Akuri tribe hasn’t been living within at least a thirty-kiloter radius.

I think if anyone can still find the Akuri tribe in the current situation, it’s you.”

Gao Yang found the situation sowhat tricky and said, “The Akuri tribe’s territory is too large.

When we could only hunt with bows and arrows, running tens of kiloters each ti was nothing.

Now that the Akuri tribe has guns, this makes hunting a lot easier for them.

I thought this might make them reduce their range, but it seems like they haven’t scaled back much.”

Catherine replied with a wry smile, “I know finding the Akuri tribe won’t be easy, but I didn’t expect it to be this difficult.

I hope you can find them soon.”

One mile is equivalent to about 1.6 kiloters, not a long distance.

Gao Yang and Catherine walked and talked, and soon they saw the temporary camp.

Upon seeing the camp, the two hastened their steps.

The temporary camp was made up of seven or eight large tents with a sunshade net strung up in the middle to form a shelter, which is pretty much the standard arrangent for any field camp.

When Gao Yang arrived at the camp, Martin, who had returned ahead of them, had already gathered everyone.

For Martin, Gao Yang’s role was too significant, so he had no choice but to receive him with due honors.

Underneath the sunshade, it was crowded with people, about half white and half black.

After leading Gao Yang and Catherine under the shelter, Martin pointed out Gao Yang with a smiling face and announced, “Guys, you’ve all heard about Mr.

Gao’s incredible experience from Catherine, so I won’t say much more.

Now, I have the honor to announce to everyone, this is the remarkable Mr.

Gao.”

The introduction scene was a bit odd, but Gao Yang didn’t mind.

He waved to the people in front of him and said with a smile, “Hi, guys, nice to et you all.”

Being acquaintances of Catherine and Adele, and relying on Gao Yang for Martin’s filming mission, the mbers of Martin’s crew greeted Gao Yang with great enthusiasm.

Gao Yang looked over Martin’s production team briefly; the shooting team was not large, the Caucasians were part of the production team, and the Blacks carried guns, likely hired by Martin for security.

The entire team, including the ard guards, was about twenty people in total.

After glancing around, suddenly Gao Yang felt sothing was off.

After pausing to recollect, he imdiately locked his gaze on a relatively younger person.

There was a familiar face in Martin’s team for Gao Yang.

Strictly speaking, not an acquaintance, but definitely soone he had seen once and made a lasting impression on him.

After observing carefully for a mont and confirming he hadn’t mistaken the person, Gao Yang tried to keep his expression from showing surprise and withdrew his gaze.

Just then, Martin began to introduce the mbers of the production team to him.

“Redding Shoal, our photographer, this is Sean, the assistant photographer and photographer’s assistant, oh, and this is Jansen Jones, the aerial photographer.

Our aerial shots mostly depend on him…”

As Martin began to introduce the third person, Gao Yang couldn’t help but smile.

The na was right, Jansen Jones, that poor sod who got into the wrong car in Cape Town, almost got robbed by the taxi driver, and nearly had an…

unfortunate encounter.

He hadn’t expected that, thousands of miles away and several days later, they would et again in South Sudan.

Gao Yang wasn’t sure if Jansen Jones recognized him, but as they shook hands, he had to try hard to keep his smirk in.

However, he noticed Jansen’s gaze flicker, confirming to Gao Yang that Jansen indeed recognized him.

Since they recognized each other, Gao Yang felt there was no need to pretend otherwise.

So, he gave a slight smile and said, “The world is really small indeed.

I didn’t expect to et you here again.”

Jansen Jones probably hoped Gao Yang hadn’t recognized him.

Upon hearing Gao Yang’s words, a hint of disappointnt flashed in Jansen’s eyes, followed by a strained smile.

“Yeah, it’s really unexpected to et again.

Um, I still need to thank you, though.”

Gao Yang shrugged and laughed, “I do think you should thank .

So, how co you’re here?

Weren’t you looking for a job in South Africa?”

Jansen Jones looked embarrassed as he said, “I did apply for a job in South Africa, specifically to join Mr.

Martin’s filming crew as an aerial photographer.

I was fortunate to get the job, so I ca here with Martin and everyone else.”

This ti, Martin finally had a chance to join the conversation.

With a look of surprise, he said, “You two know each other?”

Gao Yang laughed, “We’ve t once, so I guess we do.”

Jansen Jones also managed a strained smile, “I t Mr.

Gao in South Africa, um, I encountered a robbery, and Mr.

Gao lent

a great hand, no, I should say he saved my life.”

Martin said with surprise, “That’s quite a story, God, it’s such a small world.

It must be fate’s arrangent, divine providence that brought you together.

Hey, Jansen, you never told us about the robbery in South Africa.”

Jansen tried to downplay it, “Getting robbed in South Africa isn’t that uncommon, so I didn’t ntion it.

Um, there’s not much to say about it, don’t you think, Mr.

Gao?”

Gao Yang fully understood Jansen’s concern.

Nobody wants to share their brush with a terrifying experience, one that thankfully didn’t co to pass and certainly wouldn’t want to recount it to anyone.

You don’t reveal people’s embarrassing secrets, and Gao didn’t want to be the one doing so.

Thus, he laughed it off, “Yeah, getting robbed in South Africa really isn’t worth ntioning.

But what I don’t understand is, Martin, how co you were recruiting in South Africa?”

Martin shrugged and said, “I originally had two filming projects, one of which was a cultural docuntary to be fild in South Africa.

However, I had to cancel that project in the end.

But I spent a long ti preparing in South Africa, and my crew was mainly ford in the United Kingdom.

Unfortunately, my aerial photographer left the crew at the last minute, so I had to recruit soone urgently in South Africa.

I posted the job online, and then Jansen applied.

It’s really as simple as that.”

After a brief conversation, Martin continued his introductions of the film crew, and when all nine mbers were introduced, Martin pointed to a black man standing to the side and said, “This is Bantuna Nodasi, our guard squad leader.

He’s responsible for our security.

As you know, South Sudan isn’t exactly safe, but with Bantuna here, we don’t have to worry about security.”

As soone familiar with the dangers of the gun, Gao Yang had already taken notice of Bantuna Nodasi.

Though dressed simply and looking no different from the ard guards hired in Malakal, Bantuna was different.

If he weren’t, he wouldn’t have caught Gao Yang’s attention with his re presence.

Gao Yang estimated Bantuna’s height to be around 1.8 ters and his weight approximately 75 kilograms – not overly large for a black man, but Bantuna appeared vigilant, a stark contrast to the languid posture often seen in others.

Apart from his deanor, another reason Bantuna attracted Gao Yang’s attention was the AK74U compact assault rifle he carried and a large machete tucked at his waist.

In Africa, while AK74s were not uncommon, the shorter assault rifle AK74U was rarely seen.

After Martin’s introduction, Gao Yang reached out his hand to Bantuna, and as they shook hands, Bantuna’s gaze lingered on the shotgun over Gao Yang’s shoulder for a mont before finally settling on Gao Yang’s hand.

During the handshake, Gao Yang could feel the thick calluses on Bantuna’s palms – he had the sa from practicing with firearms almost daily.

After a glance at Gao Yang’s hand, Bantuna spoke in a deep voice, “You can call

Radar.” (To be continued.
