1054: Chapter One Thousand Thirty-Seven: The Charm of That Kick_2

Gao Yang initially felt that it wouldn’t be too embarrassing, but after several back-and-forth attempts, he could hardly bear it anymore.

He would fall with every kick, and trip over with every lift of his leg.

Peter kept throwing him in different ways.

It didn’t matter that Gao Yang’s butt was bruised black and blue, the key issue was a group of people who found fun in his misery and made snide remarks, which he couldn’t stand.

Once again Gao Yang pulled himself up from the ground, glanced at Li Jinfang subconsciously, only to see Li Jinfang frowning intensely and yelling, “Do it again!

Look at how floppy and weak you are!

Your kicks are getting softer, didn’t you eat?

Who cares about them laughing, let them laugh, later go after each of them and knock them down, then they won’t be laughing, keep kicking!

Hurry up!”

Even when Gao Yang was sparring with Li Jinfang, the Groin Kick was ineffective, but Li Jinfang would do his best to enhance the power of Gao Yang’s Groin Kick.

Having a top-notch expert like Li Jinfang as a partner sped up his progress significantly.

However, Li Jinfang was not skilled in joint techniques or ground techniques, nor was he proficient in Sambo, the close-combat martial arts, so Gao Yang was always unsure how to deal with an expert like Peter.

Before eting Li Jinfang, Gao Yang’s combat skills were weak, and he couldn’t even fight against a few street thugs.

Although he was physically fit, he didn’t know how to utilize it, just like a piece of valuable but useless fine iron.

After encountering Li Jinfang, Gao Yang was forged into a steel plate by Li Jinfang which could be used to strike others.

Then, continuing under Li Jinfang’s persistent coaching and his own hard training, Gao Yang slowly took on the form of a knife, and gradually sharpened it.

This knife, that is Gao Yang, was now shaped and sharpened, but had flaws and weaknesses, and Peter was his whetstone, smoothing out the flaws, filling in the weaknesses, and making it even sharper.

Gao Yang knew the benefits of sparring with Peter, but still regretted his decision because it was just too frustrating.

Gao Yang varied his kicks, but each ti he was thrown to the ground.

After a few more tis, Peter suddenly extended his hand and seriously said, “I’ve spotted your problem, you’re not good at dealing with opponents like .”

Gao Yang nodded and said, “Yes.”

Peter thought for a mont and then said, “Your legs are good, really good, and this isn’t flattery.

But the downside of this move is that it lacks follow-up adaptability.

Even if you practice more and add more variety, it won’t work.”

Finally, hearing sothing useful, Gao Yang was a bit excited and asked, “What should I do?”

Peter unhesitatingly said, “Your kicking technique is already perfect, I can no longer give you any advice on kicking.

You can’t beat

because I’m stronger, faster, and more importantly, my awareness is faster.

When facing an opponent of my level, trying to use a more complex kicking technique is completely wrong.

I think what you need to improve now is sothing beyond skills.”

Gao Yang frowned and asked, “Beyond skills?

What is that?”

Peter thought for a while, shook his head and said, “This can’t be described in words, at least I can’t.

If you keep practicing, keep having opponents of sufficient level to hone yourself, you might get the chance to experience that feeling.”

Li Jinfang yelled loudly, “The feeling beyond skills is the ‘intent’ I’ve told you about!

‘Intent’ is very clearly explained by the ancients; it can only be understood and not conveyed.

It’s like your shooting; how your confidence and feeling in shooting cos about, it’s just like that, keep kicking!

By kicking, you’ll understand!”

Gao Yang disliked anything too profound and mysterious, and he couldn’t connect shooting with fighting, but since Li Jinfang had said so, he decided to keep enduring.

Gao Yang was thrown at least sixty or seventy tis.

Although Peter was very asured in his force, the pain of being thrown to the ground every ti was not sothing everyone could endure.

Gao Yang was thrown until his whole body ached, and it was inevitable that he started showing bruises on his body after a while.

With gritted teeth, Gao Yang kept enduring, being thrown ti and again, until it reached a point where he was almost thrown down by Peter the mont he lifted his leg, giving him no chance to perform a complete Groin Kick.

Although Gao Yang knew that Peter was being patient enough to repeatedly practice with him, he couldn’t help but feel extrely frustrated.

Anyone being thrown ti and again would undoubtedly get angry, and now Gao Yang’s anger was intense.

It was bad enough to be thrown, but to not even perform a complete Groin Kick – initially missing his powerful moves dodged by his opponent, and now being silenced and thrown before he could launch such moves was too stifling.

His body hurt, his heart was stifled, and the naless fire within Gao Yang burned even more fiercely.

After dozens of kicks being grasped before fully extending, eventually reaching the limit of his tolerance, Gao Yang uncontrollably burst out in a loud shout as he kicked.

Gao Yang’s right leg finally managed a clean kick, reaching past Peter’s left hand before he could catch it.

It was a near miss, but Peter could no longer block this kick.

With a sudden clarity in his mind, Gao Yang saw Peter’s eyes widen in shock, and amidst an astonished face, Peter contorted his body trying to block the kick with his hip bone, but was still sent flying backwards.

At the sa mont, Li Jinfang shouted, “Good!”

Gao Yang didn’t understand what was happening; he had hit Peter, though not a critical spot, but he knew this kick was significant.

Peter didn’t fly far, but he still fell a couple of ters back.

Gao Yang’s kick hadn’t been packed with force enough to send soone flying through the air, but when the power focused at one point, it could deliver greater destructive power.

The expression on Peter’s face was painful, but more so, it was one of extre shock.

Gao Yang didn’t feel happy, or any other emotion for that matter, his mind was clear, only feeling an indescribable sense of elation from deep within himself.

Gao Yang wasn’t sure what he was feeling, he only felt as if he had been suffocating underwater for a long ti, and finally had thrust his head above the surface to take a deep and gratifying breath.

Lost in thought, Gao Yang stood motionless.

After Li Jinfang shouted his approval, he imdiately shut his mouth, and Peter, looking pained but wanting to speak, upon seeing Gao Yang’s expression, imdiately closed his mouth and lay on the ground motionless.(To be continued.
