In the main mansion of the Legends, Nicholas was in his study when the Albert the family butler walked in. Nicholas raised his gaze to et the butler whose eyes where on the floor but very well aware of the man’s gaze on him.

"I will be leaving soon, Albert. You have nothing to worry about," Nicholas said thinking the butler was there to remind of his bedti.

It was sothing that he dies regularly to ensure that Nicholas was well rested. His aging body couldn’t much stress as the young people would.

"I am afraid I have not co here for that, old friend," Albert said and raised his head. Nicholas arched a brow and he chuckled. "Ms Lovelace is here. I thought I should inform you since you will leave early tomorrow."

Nicholas frowned wondering what his little sister was doing here at such a late hour.

"She intends to spend the night here," Albert said as if he was able to read his mind.

Nicholas sighed and stood up. "She couod have just called. Sotis I wonder who is older between us that can’t even make use if her phone," he grumbled as he made his way around the desk.

"I believe she has always been like this, Master. You just didn’t notice it," Albert said. He opened the door for Nicholas who walked out with a sigh.

"I did. But I expected her to change. She is mother with grandchildren and still act like this. Would there ever a ti where she would be different?" He said but deep down, he knew she was always like with him. She had this attitude of always popping up unannounced at his doorstep in na of a surprise.

Albert smiled without saying anything for he knew the siblings better anyone else.

"Where is she?" Nicholas asked.

"She is currently in the drawing room while her room is being prepared by the maids," cane Albert’s quick reply.

Reaching the drawing room. Lovelace was sipping on her tea looking as graceful as always. Hearing footsteos approaching, she looked up. Her lashes fluttered and her lips stretched into a beautiful smile, causing her already wrinkling face to wrinkles further but still looked as beautiful.

Even with her age, you could still see that she was beautiful. You could onky wond3r what a heary stealer she must have been while in the pri of her life. Her blonde hair which now were now becoming lighter as a testant of her age adorned her head beautifully, framing her face.

She stood up and approached the grumpy man coming towards her with a smile not minding his scowl.

"I have told you many tis, if you don’t want to smile, then stay neutral, Nicholas. No need to frown and ruin you good looks," she chided but still enveloped hom in a hug.

Nicholas stood rigidly in her embrace, raising onky a hand and awkwardly patting her back seconds after the hug began.

"You can do better than that, Nicholas," she said still not letting him go until he wrapped his hands around her returning her hug.

Nicholas sighed and did what she wanted him to do. "Happy now?" He asked, she humd and released him. "What brings you here today?"

"The last ti I rember, this is my ho too. Can’t i co here without any motives?" She asked sounding offended but Nicholas gave her look that says, ’isn’t it the truth?’ she sighed but smiled.

"Fine. I have a reason for coming," she admitted. "Where is Alex? He is the reason I am here," she said and Nicholas raised a brow. "Co and have a seat first.

"Lovelace, it is late and I have a trip tomorrow. I don’t have ti to play gas with you," Nicholas but still followd her to sit down.

"I saw him with a girl the other day. Although she denied being in a relationship with him, he did not deny it. Do you know anything about this?" She asked, ignoring his words of protest. "Is she the sa girl? Or...?"

"She is. Now, if that is all. I will take my leave," Nicholas said and stood up but she followed him.

"Rwally?" She asked with so much surprise in her voice and expression thay woukd would easily mistake her for an enthusiastic child. "She is so beautiful..." as if rembering sothing, a small frown tugged on her expression. "...but, why did she deny their relationship? It was sothing beautiful and still is."

Nicholas stopped walking and so did she.

"She lost her mories," he said. His heart hurt just thinking of the internal suffering Akex must be going through being the onky one who rembers and is trying to co to terms with. He has to chase her again, try to win her heary again when everything shoulf have been all lovey dovey now.

Lovelace paused as she absorbed what he just told her.

"That is sad to hear," she said, now understanding why Alex was yet to put a ring on her finger.

Seated in the hotel’s restaurant, Dane swirled the drink in the glass, the dark crimson liquid danced around the its edges soundless while his gaze lingered on it a second lo ger before he looked at Heath, who was seated opposite him.

"Have you found her yet?" Dane asked his assistant who couldn’t reply knowing the man wouldn’t be pleased if he heard the sa negative response each ti.

"No then?" Danes said, answering his own question. "What about her father, Mr Ambrose?"

He was ho until last night. He suddenly disappeared this morning and no one knows where he went. His truck is still parked at ho but he is gone," Heath replied and Dane’s expression turned cold.

Could this be the Goldmans’ doing? We’re they ssing with hom.ir sothing? He couldn’t think of anyone else who would do that when no one knows about the engagent between the families. But the then again, what reason do the Goldmans have to take their daughter away and keep her hidden from him when he is her fiancé?

"Perhaps Mr Goldman have a change of heart?" Heath said thinkingbif what else could be the behind it. But would tye Goldmans go as far protecting a man who isn’t related to them? That was not possible especially since Mr Goldman hardly made any more decisions due to his failing health.

"You must have lost your mind to think that," Dane replied. He was itching to go out there and conduct the search himself but he couldn’t risk alerting that annoying man. This was his turf so Dane had to act lowkey.

"Forgive my..." he stopped when a waitress approached them with a small envelope in her hand.

They both turned to her waiting fur her to speak.

"I am sorry to intrude, sirs. This ca in just now for you," she said extending her hand to the less scary one of the two being Heath.

Heath hesitated but eventually reached out fir and took it. He looked at the envelope for a na but there was none. Not even a sender or recipient’s na. "Who did you sent it again?" He asked with a deep crease between his brows.

"I am sorry, he didnt give us a na. He just pointed at your table and left,’ she replied and the crease between his brows deepened.

"You may leave," Heath dismissed her, having a bad feeling about the whole thing.

"Open it," Dane ordered on a low voice after she walked away. His gaze on the piece of paper was sharp as if accusing it of a cri.

Without hesitation, Heath opened the envelope and in it was a small piece of paper with just a few words written on it but it was enough to cause an almost permanent scowl on his face.

"It’s from Alexander," he said as he handed the paper to Dane.

"You entered my city without prior notice."

The words were simple but were able to ruin the n’s mood.

Dane shredded the paper and crumpled the pieces before tossed it over the table. He stood up and left having no appetite for al any longer or drink.

"Sir," Heath called but he didn’t slow down. Heath picked up the crumpled pieces and chased after him.

"Send wirds to him. Tell him I ca to handle personal... I was invited to a banquet," he said after reaching his room and swipped in his card. "Just about about the banquet, nothing more."
