Dominic was starting to feel the strength leave him and knrw what hus wife was certainly thinking but he still stood by her side trying his hardest to stay calm his now hysterical wife.

While Adam was a complete loss for words. He had seen his mother cry before but it had never been because of him and now that he was the cause of her tears, he didn’t know what to do about it. His heart ached for her and felt the weight of her words hang over his head like a looming phantom. Her accusation cut deep adding to pain of the heartbreak her words had caused.

"If you hated so much why didn’t you tell earlier? Huh? Why would you throw away everything just for an undeserving woman just to tell that?" Lily yelled, barely able to keep her voice down.

"I don’t hate you, Mum," Adam said but his voice ca out weak as if afraid that if it were to be louder she would accuse him of raising his voice on her too. "I truly don’t."

"You don’t, huh?" She chuckled humorlessly. "Then why do you disappoint so much? Everything you worked hard for you tossed it away. Tell , what part of what you have done proves to that you care for ? That you care for my feelings and the for this family?"

"Lily, that’s enough," Dominic decided to intervene and stop it here before she cried even harder again.

"You are taking his side," she turned to him with a look of accusation in her gaze. "It’s no wonder he is like this. He must have taken after you," she said and Diminic stared at her in bewildernt. Was she thinking at all now?

"Do you realize what you are saying, Lily?" Dominic frowned, her words left a bitter taste in his mouth and he was not going to let her have her way.

"If I am wrong then why are you defensive? Huh, Dominic? Why?" She aske stepping away from him and then glaring g at the two of them. "Do you think I don’t know about your mistresses? Dominic, I know all of them," she said.

Both Dominic and Adam were on stunned silence. They couldn’t even react.

Were won always like this when mad? Adam wondered while Dominic just stared at his wife not knowing what emotion to display.

"You have all ruined everything. My daughter is paying the price for sothing she didn’t do and none of you are doing anything about it," she said and stord away but Adam frowned.

What happened to Olivia?

After dinner, as Williams ascended the stair to his study and Olivia was asked to follow him. With heavy steps and wary heart, Olivia climbed each step, looking back at her mother for reassurance that she would be fine.

Lily, although she didn’t know what Williams had in store for Olivia, she knew it wasn’t simple but she nodded reassuringly to her daughter. "You’ll be alright," she mouthed inaudible to her before she went to find her husband and son.

Inside the study, Williams sat behind the desk ans Mr Noth stood beside him. Noticing the shadow under the door, North went to open it and found the cowering Olivia standing behind it. He didn’t need to ask her what the problem because like everyone else, she must have heard Williams declaration. The only difference was that, while others received a court notice and a penalty to pay, she will answer directly to the patriarch.

"Co inside, Young Miss," Mr North held the door for her. She looked up at him with pursed lips but still took slow steps inside.

"G...grandfather," she called with eyes casted down, staring at her shoes and sotis tracing the lines of the marble floor.

Williams lifted his gaze from the docunt he has been forced to go through and stared at his granddaughter. Grandparents were usually very proud and fond of their grandchildren but he wondered why he only felt disappointnt towards his own. Both siblings have found ways to make him disappointed in them.

"Sit down, Liv," Williams offered her a seat and she reluctantly sat down, her fingers gripping the hem of her dress in nervouseness and fear. "I want you to be honest with ," Williams began. His voice calm and sounded nothing like she had expected it to be.

She whipped her head up to look at him. His expression wasn’t that of anger, rather it looked like he was –truly trying to understand her. She heard as the door opened and the went shut again and knew she was now left alone with her grandfather. Mr North has left them.

"Why did you say those things about Sara? You and I know none of them are true," Williams continued and Olivia bit her bottom lip. "Liv, don’t make more disappointed than I already am," he warned and she gulped.

Had her grandfather always been this scary? He wasn’t even frowning nor was he hostile towards her. Just a few calm words and a simple warning had her cowering like this....?

"Grandfather, I...I..." she stuttered, having no proper words to say. "I am sorry, Grandfather," she said tearing up under his gaze.

"Being sorry does not answer my question nor does it explain your actions, Liv. Or would you prefer paying the fine everyine else is paying?" Williams said and she sucked in a harsh breath.

There was no way she would be able to pay up the fine. She looked at him with teary eyes but his gaze remained the sa. Neither harsh nor comforting.

"I was wrong, Grandfather, please, don’t make pay the fine," she pleaded, though unable to believe that he even ntioned the fine to her.

"Then tell why," Williams pressed further. He wanted to know why this child hated Sara so much when all Sara has ever been to the family was kind. She was just like her brother, not seeing the goodness in a person. They didn’t appreciate the thing they had within their grasp.
