"What’s that?"

Suddenly, Zhang Feng pointed towards the direction of the corpse and asked this question.

This left Officer Ma montarily stunned:

"What do you an?"

But before Officer Ma could react!

Zhang Feng walked directly to the skeleton and squatted down.

He wasn’t at all concerned about the wriggling maggots crawling all over the bones.

He directly picked up the skeleton’s wrist and lifted it.

Seeing this scene, the expressions on the faces of Officer Ma and the others showed a hint of discomfort.

But when Zhang Feng stood up, there was unexpectedly a small piece of paper in his hand.

"Is this actually a photograph?"

Curious, Officer Ma suppressed the nausea in his heart, walked over to Zhang Feng, and voiced his surprise as he looked at the item in Zhang Feng’s hand.

Zhang Feng slowly nodded and said in a deep voice:

"Officer Ma, I have a feeling this photo might be related to the cause of the vagrant’s death, so..."

"Can you try to restore this photograph?"

When Zhang Feng said this, his expression was very serious and earnest.

Officer Ma also sensed sothing unusual.

Plus, with Zhang Feng’s previous miraculous actions helping them solve cases.

So, at this mont, he had 100% trust in Zhang Feng.

Officer Ma nodded imdiately and said:

"Don’t worry, the colleagues from the tech departnt can definitely handle this task!"

Zhang Feng slowly nodded.

But his expression did not relax.

Because when he got the photo, his eyelids kept lightly twitching.

At Zhang Feng’s level, his eyelids would never twitch casually.

You know, the last ti his eyelids started twitching was when Officer Hu was in danger.

This ti, although it wasn’t as intense, it was proof that this photograph was certainly unusual!

Officer Ma also asked his subordinates to carefully search the surrounding area to see if there were any missed clues or details.

Finally, they packed up the skeletal remains and took them back to the bureau.

When they returned to the bureau,

Lin Rui had already co back from the hospital.

Seeing Zhang Feng, she originally wanted to confront him about why he left her at the hospital.

But then she noticed the body bag that followed closely behind Zhang Feng.

As well as the evidence that Officer Ma was holding cautiously in his hand.

Her expression turned serious.

anwhile, in the bureau, Officer Hu had a sarcastic look as he spoke to Officer Ma:

"Hey, Old Ma!"

"Isn’t Xiaozhang supposed to be one of our bureau’s people?"

"Why does he handle more cases at your bureau than in his own unit?"

"You’re really treating him like one of your own!"

Officer Ma laughed and said to Officer Hu:

"It just happened to work out this way, didn’t it?"

"Besides, aren’t we practically family?"

"Bah! Nonsense!" Officer Hu of course had reservations about this matter.

But knowing that Officer Ma and the others had serious business, he decided not to pursue it further.

The skeletal remains had already been sent to the forensic room in the D City Branch.

The forensic scientist in the D City Branch had already started working.

But progress was predictably slow.

After all, the body was only bones now.

The most the forensic scientist could do was compare DNA to determine the deceased’s identity, and that’s it.

As for the cause of death and the like, that was really a long shot.

But Zhang Feng wasn’t concerned about this.

What he cared about was that photograph.

Why did it give him a strange feeling?

The colleagues in the tech departnt had accelerated their work pace.

But it wasn’t until the sky outside began to darken,

that Officer Ma brought over an impression of the photograph to Zhang Feng:

"The photo’s restored! It’s actually a hand!"

"A hand?" Zhang Feng raised his eyes lightly.

He swiftly took the photo into his own hands.

And the mont he saw the photo, Zhang Feng’s pupils suddenly contracted, and they lightly trembled.

The hand in the photo couldn’t be clearly identified as male or female because it looked withered!

To say it was a living person’s hand was sowhat of a stretch, it almost looked no different from a corpse that had been dead for a long ti!

Of course, this wasn’t the reason for Zhang Feng’s pupil tremor.

It was because, on the back of the hand in the photograph, near the forearm, there was a tattoo.

A tattoo of a cross!

When he saw this tattoo, the twitching of Zhang Feng’s eyelids stopped completely.

He looked up and quickly said to Officer Ma:

"Is Cheng Bing still in the holding cell at the bureau?"

Officer Ma didn’t know why Zhang Feng was reacting so strongly, but he nodded:

"Yes, why?"

"Take to him quickly!"

Officer Ma didn’t understand, but he took Zhang Feng to where Cheng Bing was being held.

At this ti, Cheng Bing, although not yet tried, already knew his fate.

Previously, he was graying at the temples, full of lancholy.

But now, he seed to have confessed everything, feeling light as a feather, lying on the bed in the cell, even looking quite content.

But Zhang Feng didn’t care how Cheng Bing was doing; he directly held up the photograph and said to Cheng Bing:

"The tattoo you ntioned, is it this one?!"

The relaxed smile on Cheng Bing’s face froze instantly when he saw the photograph in Zhang Feng’s hand!

He even gripped the iron bars tightly, blood vessels appearing in his eyes, fixating on the photograph, his voice hoarse:

"Master... Master? Master?!"

"Did you catch the master?!"

"Impossible! Absolutely impossible!!"

"How could you re mortals capture the master?! The master has boundless divine power!"

"No way, definitely not, how could the master be caught, no way!"

Officer Ma stood aside, stunned.

How could a photo found under a holess man’s corpse drive him to such madness!

Officer Ma didn’t understand, but Zhang Feng did!

Cheng Bing’s current expression clearly showed that the owner of this hand was the master he spoke of!

Which was the very evil cultivator Zhang Feng had been searching for.

Zhang Feng pondered slightly, secretly thinking:

"Could it be that this evil cultivator even knows the Gu Technique? Or perhaps he is a Gu Master who has touched the threshold of cultivation?"

Zhang Feng solemnly handed the photograph to Officer Ma and said:

"Do you rember the seven skulls hidden beneath the flower field?"

Officer Ma nodded.

Zhang Feng pointed to the cross tattoo on the photo and continued:

"The one manipulating Cheng Bing to kill from behind is likely the owner of this tattoo!"

"What?!"

Officer Ma’s pupils also constricted sharply.

From previous interrogations of Cheng Bing, it was known that he had ntioned a godlike person he boasted about.

He claid that all his actions were under that person’s instructions.

Originally, Officer Ma and the team thought Cheng Bing had fabricated soone to hide his deep-rooted evil nature.

But to their surprise, they encountered the sa clue in another case today.

Could it be that such a person truly exists, still at large, and unknown, continuing to do evil sowhere?

"This..." Officer Ma looked at the photo, his brows furrowed:

"We’re in trouble! We might be too late; the vagrant is now just a skeleton! Is our lead really cut off?"

Zhang Feng didn’t reply to Officer Ma, but a glint flashed in his eyes, and even a slight curve appeared on his lips:

"No! The lead isn’t broken yet!"
