I dusted my hands after a job well-done. My faithful ‘Rember ?’ curse had been spread all over this oversized structure. It shouldn’t be long before people are overwheld with negative emotions in the area and beco plagued by my nightmares… I killed quite a few people while on my way, but it isn’t my fault that so of them are awake at this hour.

They should have been sleeping like good boys and girls. I would have just placed a curse on them instead of sending them directly to the afterlife–Actually, do people get to go there if their souls are stolen? Heh…Who knows?

Regardless, I had not been approached by that spirit thing again after it had written all over the walls about how it really didn’t like … Which is a sha, frankly. I wanted to eat the bastard. It was probably very nourishing–I might be able to balance my Vengeful Spirit nature with my Living Curse nature by eating this one.

Catching this one wasn’t going to be easy, however. Not only did the spirit seem quite powerful, but it was also smart enough not to get anywhere close to … Well, anyway… I have just one more thing that I want to do before leaving this city.

The big architecture had a basent area. I hid in there until the sun dipped below the horizon again, and already, I could tell that my curses were having an effect. The large concentration of them ant that the ‘aura’ they gave off overlapped with one another, and since no one in this building seed to be very tough ntally, many were already drowning in negative emotions.

Their sadness, anger, and whatever else were amplified to an absolutely mind-numbing level. Still, many of them were still capable of going around just fine. They felt the need to go to work, thus carrying their aura of gloom around the city.

This process would work itself out without requiring my intervention.

I erged from the basent in my knightly form, bearing the sa bird design as previously. Guard patrols were seemingly less common in the area, and currently, I shouldn’t be anywhere near suspicious. No one should know I had ever been close to the restaurant.

I just looked like a female knight with a most enviable sense of fashion–The place I was headed to, though… I would have to enter sneakily.

While moving around at night previously, I had noticed an impressively long street leading to a wide open space. I hadn’t thought much of it at the mont, but I felt that this was the place those giant flying beasts took off and arrived here.

So might wonder why I would want to go there, and the reason was very simple: I wanted to test sothing. I wanted to see if ‘Rember ?’ worked on beasts, and I wanted to harm this city’s main way of trading goods… The reason I would do this was obvious… It would make the entire city depressed and on edge.

Since I was responsible, that negative emotion should be directed at . Therefore, I was seeking to do so stocking up.

Heheheh… Imagining an entire city panicking makes feel giddy. I first need to know if my plan can even work, though.

If I couldn’t curse beasts, or if I couldn’t get to said beasts, then my idea would be toast.

Regardless, I walked with casual steps, staying close to the left side of the road to minimise my chances of being seen, but not too closely, so that it wasn’t obvious that I was trying to hide. I needed to act casual. Yep… I am just a regular, beautiful, mute knightess walking through the streets of a city late in the evening.

Absolutely nothing suspicious about .

I could feel the gaze of guards flying above or standing on top of roofs, but they never spoke to or otherwise showed any signs that they were going to try to stop . As nurous and organised as they may be, they probably didn’t want to do any more work than necessary–And apparently, a knightess was not worth their attention.

I eventually reached a fence. The wide open space I had seen from afar was actually blocked off for pedestrians to go to. This only made it more obvious that this place was indeed what I had assud it was. I peered in for a few monts, taking note of a particular building that actually had a large door leading into this open space, and then went on my way.

From the look of things, there was only a single way in and out unless you were able to fly… Or burrow, I guess.

In any case, the important structure was easily identified. It was larger than the rest and had a large symbol right on its front.

To , it looked like this whole trade via giant flying beast was a privately owned business, which wasn’t a very good sign, considering that the city depended on it… Well, it was a bad sign for the locals. If the business here was compromised, then, unlike a local authority linked to the crown, a private owner could just decide to stop operations to save money, which would force the other smaller trading entities to take on the brunt.

I suppose the story could end in a better place than it had started, with several booming businesses instead of just one, but things would definitely be difficult for a while, and many people would probably decide to leave this city altogether.

Mmh… Hopefully, so of the people bearing my curse will be amongst those few.

I didn’t actually know if it was a private business or if it just presented like one, but I liked to be optimistic. I quietly made my way to the front door and, acting like I was familiar with the area, went over to a nearby habitation and knocked on the door. The neighbourhood looked rather wealthy, and with my refined dress and armour, I looked sowhat the part.

At least, the guards flying around the night sky must believe so, since none of them did more than montarily glance in my direction.

I actually find it a bit weird how none of them even spoke to once. Shouldn’t they have wanted to at least check what I was up to? Knights aren’t supposed to be common here. Even if my armour was specifically thought to appear bestial, it didn’t change the fact that most beastfolk warriors were opposed to wearing armour.

They were always very proud of their bestial sides, so when engaging in combat, they tended to only want to use their animalistic aspects to do so… Of course, a rhinofolk or elephantfolk probably had stronger defences than most armours could offer to begin with, and especially agile felinefolks certainly wouldn’t handle having their freedom of movents restrained in any way…

Which made sense, while a full suit of armour wasn’t nearly as heavy as many believed, they definitely made their wearer less flexible… Anyway, many beastfolks would still benefit greatly from them, but it was a cultural matter, and so far, it had worked quite well.

Heldinot was a large and prosperous kingdom. Had they had strong flaws, Beelmart would have already tried to invade them in a direct manner.

Anyway… Is no one going to co and answer ?

After a few more minutes of insistent knocking, I heard what sounded like hooves approaching the door from a distance.

Perfect.

Rather than more steps, what ensued was the noise of sothing much heavier falling to the ground, followed by the key turning in the lock and the door opening.

I slipped in, looking down at a donkeyfolk with a bleeding head on the ground.

I gave a thumbs-up to Elowen. With her assistance, from the outside, it had looked like the person inside had opened the door for , and that I had peacefully entered without any ruckus.

Of course, this couldn’t have happened if the owner of this place had opened the door himself. He would have been rightfully focused as to who the hell I was.

My cute tomboy had hit him over the head with a poker from his own fireplace–Elowen hadn’t gone easy on him either. He was bleeding profusely… In fact, I am pretty sure she had cracked his skull with that surprise attack. Not so surprising since the donkeyfolk looked quite old.

I switched over to my ‘Base Form’ after receiving confirmation from Elowen that there was only one person inside this place at the mont.

The unconscious man was killed and devoured, not even a drop of blood left behind, and I then sat down on the ground as my ghostly little sisters gathered in front of like attentive pupils.

“A–A–Alright, Sweetie Pies. I want to gain–ain access to the place just in front of this one–one. Nessa, you a–are stealthy, I will need you to ent–enter the building and find a way to open the door”

“I… Will… Do my best!”

“Gigi, you will be on the look–look–lookout for any guards nearby. Stay hidden like when we–we play hide-and-seek”

“I… Will… Keep… My eyes wide open for anything!”

“Poppy, you–you are the swiftest when it cos to phasing through objects in gene–general, stay close to Gigi, and be prepared to relate information between every–everyone”

“I… Understand… Big Sis”

“Annie, you are the fastest. I need you to distract the attention of the gu–guard–ards. Run them as far away from the area as po–possible”

“I… Will… Make… Them run until they fall dead, you can trust , Big Sis”

“Elowen, you will go–go–go with Nessa. If there is any–anyone inside of here, take them out. If there are security asures, ins–pect them and destroy them if it makes sense to do so”

“Understood… I’ll break their bones”

“Ophelie, follow Elowen. Don’t hesi–hesitate to use your stake to help her”

My Sweetie Pies split up. In the anti, I returned to my knightly form. I would have to switch back again to place curses, but this one was just more practical to get around, and also because the wide fra of my ‘Base Form” sotis ant that I couldn’t get through doorways without bumping against the edges.

It would be embarrassing to get caught in the doorway while I was trying to be swift and sneaky…

In any case, as per usual, I could trust my ghostly cuties to do a good job. I couldn’t check how they did it myself, but soon enough, Poppy popped her head out from the floor, telling that the way was cleared, and indeed, I got inside the building without a hitch.

Soon enough, all of my little sisters showed up around .

Annie looked very pleased with herself. I could only imagine what she put the guards through… As for Elowen and Ophelie… I knew they had done sothing since I had received a soul out of the blue coming from the direction of this place.

They led to what looked like a guard’s office, only that instead of advanced machinery, this one just had a big, glassless window. This place did not seem to have benefited from any state-of-the-art security. Probably believing that its doors and the city’s own security were enough.

Obviously, it had not been enough today, because the guard had been repeatedly stabbed in the back, and had his jaw so thoroughly ssed up that it would probably take soone who had known him a few seconds to realise his identity.

The cause of the stab wounds had been Ophelie. Her stake only needed to stab once to take effect, but I suppose it didn’t hurt to make sure… Regardless, it was good to see that there was so viciousness in her adorable little body. It was needed to go far in life… Or undeath in her case, I suppose.

Though Elowen had clearly been the one to have dealt the brunt of the damage and killed the man.

I didn’t need to guess. She was very proud to explain how she had done it. Excited to receive so guidance about how to do it better next ti.

They are all so freaking cute…
