He completed, and Sara could only nod.

Graduating from SLS at 21, she was among the top 10 students ever to graduate from the University.

Job offers from various companies had co pouring in right after, but it had been two months, and she had yet to pick up any.

The only reason was that, in a way, she didn’t want the future that awaited her.

She knew what she was capable of, and being reduced to a desk, running through websites to get information on what people were buying nowadays just seed a bloody waste of that.

The money was never an appealing factor.

Her mom is a successful businesswoman, so without the money appeal, there wasn’t really anything that brought her that much interest in doing any work at all, leaving her at ho bored all the ti.

She spent the free ti browsing around illegal nets, but even that was exhausting.

Seeing so much chaos while being unable to do anything to help was exhausting, and it only added to her sense of helplessness.

All she needed was a chance, and right now, with him, she was seeing one.

Though looking at him, doubts were flickering in his eyes.

Everlearn’s reason for his doubt was simple.

He didn’t believe she really knew that much about the war, nor was she indeed a good Infotech graduate.

Besides, she was an ordinary human, lesser in every way compared to a Corer.

Her reasoning speed and mory capability were automatically lower than even the average Corer.

But there was indeed sothing she had.

The flas in her eyes, her conviction to influence the war, and what’s more, it was far stronger than his.

He also knew that if he had to gather the information himself and then react to it properly, it would waste a lot of ti, even with his high intelligence.

But if he had soone in the background feeding him instantaneous information, and locked in on that while he focused on using his power to affect things...

Then he could see the quick growth that followed.

And in a war where the lives of millions were involved, fast growth wasn’t a requirent, but a must.

"There isn’t much for you in it, though? I’m not an organization that pays for information given, and I’m not sure I want to force you into sothing that has no value."

"You an, materialistic value?" she asked, and he fell quiet.

"Look around you..." she said, as Everlearn turned an eye around.

All that he saw was a grandiose living space.

"If you grow up around this, it doesn’t excite much after 21 years," she said, continuing,

"The cars are fun, buying anything you want is fun. But I have all of that, thanks to my mom, and I’m grateful for it all, of course."

"But I don’t see much value in working for what I already have."

"What value did you see in providing info that impacts the war?" he asked.

"I can’t explain it. But I do know I’ll feel more satisfaction if one or two can survive the claws of Nakros because I provided important information than any money ever will."

"I just know it."

She said, and he humd, but then she asked,

"What of you?"

"Huh?"

"You said you have power. I bet there are a million ventures you could put that in."

"Why specifically try and impact the war? I’m pretty sure you’re not being paid for that, too, are you?"

She asked, and Everlearn paused for a long while before saying,

"I always knew war would co. I think every human on Nvidia does, just not when."

"But when I read the news of the Nakros having resud their attacks, and the others around are all blissfully oblivious, made sure by the power behind us, I knew I couldn’t sit there doing nothing while hearing endless news of lives being destroyed."

"So, I had to get out there, to at least do sothing..."

"That’s noble. But, motivations like that die off quickly, though," Sara said, continuing, "Eventually, people just beco desensitized about things, and seeing a building blown up just becos another day."

"That’s true," Everlearn nodded.

If he had been helplessly watching news of Nakros’ invasion and destruction, it was only a matter of ti before he saw it as a normal thing, drowning in his own helplessness.

"I might indeed lose that feeling to help, if in the end, I realize I’m helpless or lie to myself that it had nothing to do with , or that there are hundreds of thousands in the Corer world, so I’m not needed."

He added, and Sara nodded.

Those were the easy ways the mind drowns out motivations.

She knew that from personal experience.

"But I’m not helpless," Everlearn said with a confident shrug, leaving her speechless.

"I’m not just another Corer amongst hundreds of thousands of Corers. I can make a big impact."

"Big enough that not trying will be an even bigger waste."

"Yes. I’m not being paid for it, but I will indeed feel more at peace knowing I’m out there doing sothing, rather than sitting down doing nothing."

Everlearn said before pausing and turning to her.

"And in a way, that seems so familiar with your reason."

It left her giggling. And Everlearn decided.

"Let’s work together for a month," he said as she listened.

"If we, together, within a month, can truly make a solid impact..."

"Then we will find ways to make things more official, lasting many more months, and also more rewarding beyond just personal feelings of satisfaction or responsibility." He said, pausing for a while, then continued,

"But if it leads nowhere or we did so little together, then we can go our separate ways after a month, knowing we at least tried."

He said, and in reply, she stretched out her hand.

"Deal?"

She asked with a beaming smile as Everlearn looked at the handshake.

For so reason, his heart began to pound louder, in premonition of an unknown change, but he pushed the feeling down and shook her hand in return.

"Deal!"
