Chapter 044: Sooner or Later, She’ll Drive Crazy

Su Mingxuan felt incredibly awkward. A handso guy like him—smoking hot, basically a walking Greek statue—was now suspected of having hemorrhoids? That was just brutal. But what could he do when the bloodstain was right there on the bedsheet?

“Yeah, I have them…” Su Mingxuan gave up pretending and responded with a deadpan face like he’d lost all hope.

Bai Suxin bit her lip, trying not to laugh. Poor guy—both of them knew exactly where that blood ca from. But could they tell Su Xiaong? Not a chance.

Hearing his confession, Su Xiaong’s expression turned complicated. It was a mix of disbelief, pity, and a little… amusent.

“It’s okay, Brother Mingxuan,” she said gently, walking over to hug him. “It’s a normal thing! No need to feel ashad. But… why is there so much blood? Should we go to the hospital? Maybe get it cut out or sothing?”

Su Mingxuan was speechless and so wa Bai Suxin.

Cut… what, exactly?

He stood there like a man sentenced to death, eyes hollow. “Please, Xiaong… enough. I’ve got this handled. Don’t worry about it. Go find your Sister Bai. I’m heading down for breakfast.”

He needed to escape before this situation got even more ridiculous.

“Wait for , Brother!” Xiaong said and followed him out the door.

Once the door shut, Bai Suxin finally let out the breath she was holding. She crept out of the closet like a thief and tiptoed around the room.

That was way too close—never again would she do a midnight sneak-in. Not unless Xiaong was away from ho.

She threw on her clothes, rushed to clean off all the evidence left from last night, and made herself presentable. When she finally walked into the dining hall, her expression was as gentle and calm as ever.

“Sister Bai!” Su Xiaong called excitedly when she saw her. “Where were you this morning? I couldn’t find you anywhere!”

Bai Suxin sat down beside her, smiling with a touch of guilt. “Ah, I woke up early and went for a walk around the manor. Just trying to get familiar with everything…”

Her lie was smooth, her face composed. Not a single bead of sweat.

Su Mingxuan glanced at her with amused suspicion. She caught his look and gave him a subtle glare, biting her lip slightly.

“Huh?” Su Xiaong blinked. “You look… prettier today.”

She leaned in closer, squinting. “Whoa! Your skin looks amazing! It’s glowing! Bai-Elder Sister, what did you do last night?”

It was true—Bai Suxin’s skin was radiant, porcelain-smooth, and luminous under the morning light. Even Su Mingxuan was surprised. Last night had purified his own inner qi, and now it seed like it had also refined her complexion.

Bai Suxin turned red. “Is it? Maybe it’s just the lighting…”

But she knew that wasn’t the reason. Even during her bath earlier, she’d noticed the changes—skin soft like silk, shedding layers of what looked like gray gri. She had thought it was Mingxuan’s… lingering essence, but now it was obvious. It was so kind of transformation.

“No way! Look at my skin—I’m not glowing!” Xiaong said, holding up her arm for comparison. “Co on, tell how you did it!”

Bai Suxin glanced helplessly at Su Mingxuan. How was she supposed to explain that? She couldn’t very well ask him to… “help” Xiaong the way he helped her. His dad would break both his legs.

“I… I just…” she stamred, unable to co up with anything convincing.

Su Mingxuan decided to step in. “Alright, alright. Your Sister Bai can tell you another day. For now, take this.”

He pulled out two golden boxes and handed them over. As soon as they were opened, a rich dicinal scent filled the room.

“What’s this?” both girls asked, staring at the pills.

“Sothing good for your health,” Su Mingxuan said with a casual smile. “It’ll improve your strength, your reflexes, even boost your endurance. It’s basically a super vitamin.”

In truth, it was a physique-boosting pill. Won had naturally lower thresholds than n, and Bai Suxin and Xiaong could both use the help—especially if things continued down this dangerous road.

Hearing his explanation, Su Xiaong blinked up at him with wide eyes. “Brother Mingxuan… you’re not trying to drug us and do weird stuff, are you?”

Su Mingxuan froze. “…What?”

That was it. He was done here.

If he kept hanging around this girl, he really would die from a burst blood vessel one day.
