Chapter 024:What If My Legs Get Broken?
“Why did it take so long?” Su Mingxuan asked as soon as Su Xiaong returned to the car, escorted by bodyguards.
He had been waiting for half an hour and was about to send soone to look for her. After all, she was gold and jade in status—nothing could be allowed to happen to her.
Blinking playfully, Su Xiaong answered, “I was playing upstairs a little.”
“How was it?” Su Mingxuan smiled and asked.
“Not telling you,” she huffed with a pout.
“Still mad at ?” he teased.
“Yes!” she declared loudly.
Su Mingxuan had nothing to say to that.
The bodyguards started the car, and the convoy quickly exited the slums, heading toward Su Mingxuan’s private estate. Naturally, he wouldn’t live without his own place in Tianhai City. Liu Qin had spent a fortune to build a sprawling manor nestled in a scenic area north of the city, surrounded by mountains and water.
As a real estate magnate, purchasing land and constructing estates was as easy as lifting a finger.
Half an hour later, the cars arrived outside the manor. From the airport pickup to now, a lot had happened, and it was already ten in the evening.
Su Xiaong looked out the window, eyes filled with excitent. “Wow, it’s huge! So pretty!!” she exclaid.
Looking out, the manor stretched over at least five hundred mu. Inside were massive swimming pools, basketball courts, football fields, golf greens, and landscaped gardens. It had practically every kind of luxury leisure facility one could think of.
“Which room is mine?” she asked eagerly after the car circled through the estate for more than ten minutes.
“Don’t rush.” Su Mingxuan chuckled, patting her head with a touch of indulgence. T
hough raised in the Su family and not unfamiliar with luxury, their ho had always been more royal than lavish—dignified, not extravagant. So she found this place particularly delightful.
Once the car stopped, Su Xiaong imdiately jumped out, curiously exploring every corner like an overgrown child. Su Mingxuan followed behind, watching her with amusent. Though the manor was large, everything had already been set up by the ti he arrived in Tianhai. Maids, security, and surveillance systems were all in place.
Because of their status, the manor’s security was tight, with guards stationed every few steps and full surveillance coverage. If he rembered correctly, Liu Qin had even ntioned that underground there were defensive installations—this place could beco a fortress if needed. Now that was truly impressive.
Seeing that it was getting late, Su Mingxuan gently took Xiaong’s hand and said, “You’ve been on a flight for hours. You should get so rest. You can explore more tomorrow morning.”
“Okay…” she nodded, her cheeks reddening slightly.
Su Mingxuan led her into the castle at the center of the estate. Built in a Western architectural style, the interior was appropriately matched. As soon as they stepped inside, several maids bowed to him. He gave a small nod and led Xiaong upstairs.
“Go shower and rest,” he said, pointing to one of the rooms with a smile. “That’s your room. There’s a private bathroom. I’ll be next door. If you need anything, just call .”
He turned to leave, but before he could walk away, she grabbed his hand.
“What is it?” he asked, smiling.
“Can you… can you help shower like you used to?” she mumbled, her voice growing quieter with each word.
If his physique hadn’t been enhanced, he might not have even heard her.
Su Mingxuan froze.
That was the past. Things were different now.
He looked at her speechlessly. The little girl had grown up and everything about her had grown. He couldn’t treat her the sa as before.
He shook his head. “Xiaong, you’re not a kid anymore. You can’t do that kind of thing like we used to.”
She stomped her foot. “So just because I’ve grown up, you’re not going to treat the sa anymore? I knew it! If you get married, you’re going to forget about completely!” she said angrily.
Su Mingxuan was speechless. What kind of logic was that? Classic rebellious phase nonsense. He rubbed his forehead, exasperated. “That’s not the sa thing…”
“Hmph!” she glared at him and stord into her room, slamming the door behind her. Judging by that reaction, she probably hated him even more now.
Su Mingxuan shook his head and went back to his own room. After a quick wash, he sat on his bed with a book. Having crossed over to this world twenty years ago, he’d lived under his grandfather’s strict discipline, developing strong self-control and habits.
Since he didn’t have a cheat when he first arrived, he relied on his own effort and the Su family’s resources to achieve success in his studies and career.
In a sense, he had worked hard for twenty years. That was why his grandfather viewed him as an exceptional heir.
After all, soone who was disciplined, hardworking, and ntally resilient didn’t need to be a genius—he just needed ti and support to rise high. But in Su Mingxuan’s case, he wasn’t just disciplined—he was smart too. Compared to other young masters in the capital, he was on a different level entirely.
He didn’t know how long he’d been reading when suddenly—click.
A faint sound ca from his door.
His brows furrowed wondering who would be coming at this hour? Then it hit him.
Oh no. Please no.
If it’s what he thought it was… his legs might really get broken by the old man!
