Li Ya hurriedly waved her hand, forcing out a smile: "No, no, it’s a bit hot, just letting it cool down for a while."

Wen Shulin was worried that Li Ya’s odd behavior might be noticed by Xiao ier, so he quickly changed the subject, "Xiao Er, what are you planning to do today?"

"? I’m planning to go with Xiao Cheng to visit my godfather for New Year’s greetings." Xiao ier replied.

"Over at Mr. Jin’s place?" Wen Shulin followed up, "Makes sense, we should go visit the old man."

"Sister Lin, are you going too?"

Wen Shulin smiled, "Sure, why not."

"Then we’ll go together; it’s good to have company." Xiao ier smiled, squinting at i Xiang, "i Xiang, what about you?"

i Xiang had no necessity to visit Jin Baogen for New Year’s greetings, and she replied, "Then I’ll head back and pack my luggage! Aren’t we going to Hainan?"

"I’ll pack my luggage too." Li Ya quickly said, "I won’t go over."

Wen Shulin couldn’t do anything about Li Ya, "Alright, then we’ll send you both back first."

A sweet and cozy bowl of tangyuan, but for so people, it didn’t have any discernible flavor.

While Wen Shulin and Xiao ier were inside preparing, Chen Cheng called out to Li Ya.

"Li Ya."

"What?"

"Why are you still mad?"

"Because you didn’t co last night!~" Li Ya pouted again.

Chen Cheng smiled helplessly, "I was too tired last night."

"Hmm! Just making excuses. i Xiang and I waited for you all night, and you... with my mommy..."

Chen Cheng was slightly taken aback, "What about and Shulin?"

"Don’t pretend, i Xiang and I saw it."

i Xiang nodded emphatically from the side, "Yes, Brother Cheng. Li Ya and I saw Aunt Wen co looking for you."

At this mont, Chen Cheng was exasperated and amused; Wen Shulin was being blad unjustly.

However, he didn’t clarify, "Alright, it’s all in the past. The year is just starting today, let’s be happy."

"Can’t be happy."

"Then how can you be happy?"

Li Ya’s eyes darted around, and after half a second, she clasped her hands behind her, closed her eyes, and tiptoed towards Chen Cheng.

Chen Cheng smiled slightly and bent down, planting a kiss on Li Ya’s forehead.

Li Ya opened her eyes, her face slightly red, but her mouth couldn’t help but curve upward.

In that instant, all the grievances from last night seed to vanish.

i Xiang saw the scene and felt a sour pang in her heart.

She pouted and muttered quietly, "I want one too..."

Chen Cheng chuckled and reached out, pinching i Xiang’s cheek, "Want what?"

i Xiang smiled sweetly; what she wanted was just Chen Cheng.

"Alright, let’s be happy for the New Year." Chen Cheng looked at the two in front of him, "Don’t be unhappy; we’re going traveling."

"Right!"

"Yeah!"

Soon, Wen Shulin and Xiao ier were done packing and ca out.

"Ready?" Chen Cheng asked.

"Ready, let’s go." Wen Shulin linked arms with Xiao ier, a blissful smile on her face.

As they were preparing to leave and reached the front of the side room, Xiao ier suddenly stopped and looked at the closed door, saying, "I should tell Wan Ning, so she won’t worry if she wakes up and can’t find us."

They reached the door, and Xiao ier knocked, but there was no response.

"Miss ng probably hasn’t woken up yet?" i Xiang said, "She ca back quite late last night."

Xiao ier knocked a few more tis, but still no reaction.

She felt sothing was off, so she pushed the door open.

The room was empty, the bed neatly made.

"Huh? Where’s Wan Ning? Why isn’t she here?"

"Not here?" Chen Cheng was also alard, he stepped inside, and indeed there was no one as if she had never been there.

Wen Shulin frowned, knowing ng Wanning was a considerate girl who wouldn’t leave without a word.

"Why don’t you call her?" Chen Cheng didn’t feel comfortable directly calling ng Wanning, so he said to Xiao ier, "How could she just be gone like this?"

He was uncertain inside, wondering if ng Wanning was upset.

"Alright, I’ll ask." Xiao ier took out her phone.

Just as she was about to dial ng Wanning’s number, Li Ya noticed a paper note on the dressing table.

"Mommy, there’s sothing."

Wen Shulin walked over to take a look and instantly relaxed his furrowed brows, "Looks like Miss ng got up even earlier than us."

She handed the note to Chen Cheng, and Chen Cheng took a look: Sister, Happy New Year! I’m going to serve tea to our master, heading off first.

Chen Cheng’s heart finally settled down, as Xiao ier looked at the words on the paper, "Seems like Wan Ning is worried about disturbing us by ssaging, she’s really considerate of others."

"It’s just right that we’re going to the villa, you can ask her if she’s going to Hainan." Chen Cheng put down the note.

"Okay! Let’s go!"

The group left the room and headed towards the garage.

Chen Cheng was driving, Xiao ier was in the front passenger seat. The back seat was squeezed with Wen Shulin, Li Ya, and i Xiang.

The New Year’s sunshine bathed them, warm and comfortable.

...

...

Chen Cheng first dropped off Li Ya and i Xiang at their place, then arrived at the villa with Wen Shulin and Xiao ier.

Outside the villa, quite a few packing boxes had already been piled up, it seed Jin Baogen was also about to move to the new mountain ho.

The three walked in and imdiately heard ng Wanning’s poignant and lodious singing.

Jin Baogen was sitting in the grandmaster chair in the living room, while Cui Xiaolin was beside him, watching ng Wanning.

ng Wanning paused her singing when she saw the visitors.

Jin Baogen opened his eyes, "Xiao ng, you..."

Just as the word "Master" was about to co out, ng Wanning could only say, "Sister."

Jin Baogen and Cui Xiaolin turned their heads to look at the three as they walked in.

"Godfather, Happy New Year!" Xiao ier quickly stepped forward, saying with a full smile while handing over the carefully prepared New Year’s gift.

Jin Baogen took the gift, nodding and smiling, "Good, good, you’re all here, co in and sit."

Wen Shulin also stepped forward, respectfully wishing Jin Baogen, "Mr. Jin, Happy New Year, wishing you good health and smooth affairs."

Jin Baogen laughed heartily, "You all are so thoughtful. On such a festive day, you even specially ca to see this old man."

"Xiao Lin, go find soone to pour so tea."

Xiao ier was quick to respond, "Auntie, let do it."

"Mr. Jin, my visit today really interrupted your peaceful enjoynt." Chen Cheng teased.

Jin Baogen said, "Not at all! When you arrived, Xiao ng stopped singing."

Chen Cheng nodded slightly, responding with a smile, "Mr. Jin, you wrong , Miss ng has a voice that’s hard to co by, I was hoping to hear more."

ng Wanning finally greeted everyone, "Mr. Chen, Ms. Wen."

Chen Cheng understood ng Wanning’s difficulty, nodding slightly.

Wen Shulin also said courteously, "Miss ng’s singing truly lingered, I was completely captivated just now."

ng Wanning returned to stand beside Cui Xiaolin, who invited, "Feel free to sit."

"How is your moving preparation going? Do you need any help?" Chen Cheng asked.

Jin Baogen waved his hand, "Almost done, the moving company is handling it, no need to worry."

Wen Shulin asked, "Mr. Jin, where are you moving to?"

"To the mountain side, not doing business anymore, it’s peaceful there." Jin Baogen said, "Visit when you have ti."

Wen Shulin nodded, and Xiao ier returned at that mont, sitting beside Chen Cheng.

Everyone was seated, except ng Wanning who remained standing.

Xiao ier saw the situation, "Wan Ning, co, there’s just sothing I want to ask you."

She said as she got up and pulled ng Wanning into her seat, then found another chair for herself.

"Sister, what do you want to ask ?"

Xiao ier smiled and said, "Xiao Cheng, Sister Lin, and I are planning to go to Hainan for a few days, along with Li Ya and i Xiang, how about it? Do you want to co along?"

ng Wanning was about to speak but her gaze unconsciously drifted towards Cui Xiaolin.

Cui Xiaolin had just brought Xiao ier’s tea to her mouth but stopped.

If Chen Cheng were only taking ng Wanning, she would definitely have no objection.

But now the situation is such that besides ng Wanning, there’s also Xiao ier.

In Cui Xiaolin’s view, Xiao ier is the biggest obstacle standing between her disciple and Chen Cheng.

If Jin Baogen hadn’t recognized Xiao ier as his goddaughter, she would not want ng Wanning to suffer such grievances.

Jin Baogen noticed the gaze between the master and disciple, and before Cui Xiaolin could speak, "Xiao ng, go ahead, it’s good to get out and about."

"Master, I..."

Cui Xiaolin still didn’t speak, just drank the tea she hadn’t drunk earlier.

"See, no words ans agreent." Jin Baogen patted Cui Xiaolin, smiling as he said.

He fumbled in his bag and took out a key, handing it to Chen Cheng, "Just right, when you return, this villa will be truly handed over to you."
