“And you video calling her during your bath didn’t make you uncomfortable?” Wen Shulin asked with a smile.

They resettled themselves, Wen Shulin cradling Chen Cheng in her arms, gently stroking his hair.
“Have we got this the wrong way around?” Chen Cheng asked.
Wen Shulin smiled softly, “Do you not like it this way?”
The night deepened, and in Chen Cheng’s first night back in Beijing, he fell deeply asleep in the soft embrace of Wen Shulin.
