Xia Xin hesitated and looked at Jiangli.
Jiangli, however, was looking out the window, as if it had nothing to do with her.
Xia Xin knew that Jiangli wanted him to practice on his own. He took a deep breath and agreed, "Alright, I’ll pack my things and head over right away."
Qin Yingjun was deeply grateful and casually asked, "Will the Abbot co too?"
Xia Xin coughed and made an excuse, "I’m sorry, Mr. Qin, our Abbot has sothing to do today and can’t leave. It looks like it’ll just be going."
Qin Yingjun was slightly taken aback but did not object or complain, "If the Abbot is busy, then that’s alright. Master Xia Xin, you coming is just the sa. I trust Jiaoyang Temple."
"Thank you, Mr. Qin. I’ll prepare and head over," Xia Xin forced a laugh, thinking to himself, you trust , but I don’t trust myself.
Qin Yingjun readily agreed and said he would send the address of the funeral ho to Xia Xin shortly.
Xia Xin agreed, and as soon as he hung up the phone, he looked at Jiangli with a bitter face, feeling very uneasy, "Old Ancestor, do I really have to go perform the ritual alone?"
Sohow, Jiangli had an ice cream in her hand and was eating. Without thinking, she said, "Can’t you do it alone?"
Xia Xin t Jiangli’s seemingly indifferent eyes but felt a deep threat. How could he dare to say no?
Pouting, he nervously said, "Alright then..."
Jiangli looked at his pitiful appearance, finding it quite amusing. She freed a hand, opened a nearby drawer, took out a Suppressing Evil Talisman, and handed it to Xia Xin, "This is a Suppressing Evil Talisman. Take it, it will be useful."
Xia Xin took it, still a bit confused, "Old Ancestor, I’m going to perform a ritual. What do I need a Suppressing Evil Talisman for?"
Jiangli said aningfully, "Just take it. It will co in handy."
Upon hearing this, Xia Xin felt a chill, a sense of foreboding rising within him.
He felt that this ritual might not go so smoothly...
Xia Xin beca even more nervous.
However, being nervous was useless.
Jiangli made it clear that she wanted him to go out and practice alone, never even ntioning any help.
The pleading looks Xia Xin cast several tis were completely ignored.
Xia Xin could only pout and start packing the things needed for the ritual.
Performing a ritual is a very cumberso task; upon arriving at the venue, there are many preparations to be made.
Xia Xin had no ti to waste. After packing up, he told Fu’er to find sothing for Jiangli to eat, then bitterly set off with his gear.
Fu’er saw his retreating figure, which seed to say he’d never return, and couldn’t help but laugh.
Later, he complained to Jiangli.
"Old Ancestor, you really scared that kid Xu Xin. He was so reluctant when he left."
Jiangli had just finished a cup of yogurt and threw the container into the trash, saying nonchalantly, "Reluctant or not, he has to do it himself. Neither you nor I can accompany him forever."
Fu’er’s smile froze for a mont, then he sighed, "Yes, from now on, Xia Xin will have to rely on himself."
As he spoke, he couldn’t help but complain again, "But Old Ancestor, why did Ouyang Min take on such a talentless disciple? If it had been soone exceptionally gifted, the situation wouldn’t be so bad now."
Jiangli paused while searching for snacks, a flash of Xia Xin’s fleeting Spiritual Feature during the fight with Wei Xue crossing her mind.
The sight seed familiar...
Xia Xin’s Spiritual Bone didn’t seem like a natural deficiency.
Jiangli vaguely felt that Xia Xin’s lack of a Spiritual Bone might be related to her, but her mory was always fuzzy and she couldn’t recall.
Ouyang Min, although not exceptionally talented, had a keen intellect. Choosing Xia Xin as a disciple surely had a reason.
Jiangli guessed that reason had sothing to do with her.
But, what exactly it was, she didn’t know.
