Mr. Wei looked at his sister’s expression and said, “Although Qingran has been married to Liang Xi for a few years and they don’t have any children yet, she isn’t that ignorant. She wouldn’t disregard her own well-being for the sake of a child. Abbot, could there be so misunderstanding?”
Jiangli, seeing Wei Qingran’s bewildered look, also realized that she probably didn’t know she had been drugged.
Jiangli asked, “Have you eaten anything unusual recently?”
Wei Qingran was about to say no when suddenly she rembered sothing, her expression tightened, “I, I’ve taken so tonics…”
Jiangli narrowed his eyes, “Tonics?”
Wei Qingran clasped her hands and nodded blankly, “Yes…”
Her expression was sowhat bitter and stunned, as if she had thought of sothing but didn’t dare to believe it.
Jiangli pressed, “What kind of tonics?”
“Just… just so to regulate my body that could help get pregnant soon…”
Wei Qingran’s voice was sowhat hoarse.
Jiangli asked, “Who prepared them?”
Wei Qingran: “…”
She opened her mouth but produced no sound.
Seeing this, Jiangli didn’t rush her and waited patiently for Wei Qingran to speak up.
Xia Xin also looked at Wei Qingran nervously.
Mr. Wei, however, couldn’t help but say, “Qingran, just speak if you have sothing to say!”

Mrs. Wei quickly ushered the two daughters back to their rooms and said solemnly, “Is it because Qingran hasn’t had children in these three years, and the mother-in-law has resorted to so special thods?”

Liang Xi’s mother had always wanted to hold her grandchild sooner rather than later.
On the occasional eting with the Wei family, her conversation hinted at various ways for them to urge Wei Qingran to beco pregnant and bear a child soon.
But how could outsiders rush such matters?
Wei Qingran was aware of her mother-in-law’s desires, so she had been actively trying to conceive since getting married.
Back in the entertainnt industry, she kept a strict control of her diet and figure, but now, for the sake of getting pregnant, she was taking in nutrition every day, no longer caring about her previously slender figure.
Yet, even so, she remained without child after several years.
Liang Xi’s mother, anxious, frequently changed the tonics for Wei Qingran.
Wei Qingran had grown accustod to them.
