Chapter 520: I love you Chapter 520: I love you Dr. Tang laughed heartily, “It’s . I thought perhaps you didn’t rember .”
Yun Xizi’s palms beca sowhat stiff as she ran her fingers through her hair, her expression grew slightly uneasy.
After listening to their conversation, Nana’s gaze darted back and forth between them, “Dr. Tang, Yunzi, you two knew each other before?”
“Tang Heping, my high school classmate,” Yun Xizi introduced, yet a blush crept onto her cheeks.
Nana had known Yun Xizi for quite so ti and could tell at a glance that Yun Xizi was actually shy. She imdiately smiled teasingly, “Classmates? I feel like there’s more to it than that. Dr. Tang, Yunzi, are you hiding sothing from ?”
Yun Xizi hadn’t spoken yet.
Dr. Tang, however, admitted generously, “I pursued her in high school, but unfortunately, I was rejected.”
Yun Xizi looked at Dr. Tang in astonishnt, then quickly turned her head away, too embarrassed to et his gaze.
Nana, upon hearing this bombshell gossip, beca excited at once.
But just as she tried to sit up, she felt a pain in her chest and abdon from the movent.
“What’s wrong, did you pull your wound?”
Seeing Nana’s reaction, Yun Xizi quickly leaned in, showing both concern and quickly changing the subject.
“It’s nothing, it’s nothing.”
Nana clutched her chest, couldn’t help but grimace, and laid back down properly.
Before Yun Xizi could say anything, Nana regained her teasing deanor and asked snidely, “Yunzi, what’s the deal? Dr. Tang is the most handso doctor in the hospital, and you turn down such a handso guy chasing after you? What kind of guy are you waiting for?”
Yun Xizi’s expression tightened.
Nana went on and on, “If you ask , Dr. Tang is really great, why don’t you two consider rekindling the old fla?”
Yun Xizi hurriedly covered her mouth, apologetically looking towards Dr. Tang, her eyes unsure where to rest, “I’m so sorry, my friend just talks a lot. I haven’t been around these past couple of days and had no idea you’d taken over her ward…”
Dr. Tang joked, “What, now that you know I’m in charge, you’re not going to co anymore?”
Yun Xizi was mortified, “That’s not it, that’s not it…”
She clenched her palm, hiding the sweat that had broken out within it.
Her relationship with Tang Heping was actually quite awkward…
Tang Heping had indeed pursued her when they were about to graduate from high school.
Back then, Yun Xizi’s parents had already divorced.
Yun Xizi lived with her mother, and had always been much quieter and more reserved than Nana, rather shy and silent.
Her mother constantly harped on her, telling her to stand up for herself, to work hard, and to make sure she got into a good college.
Only then could she hold her head high with pride.
After starting high school, these admonitions beca even more pressing, with her mother constantly warning her that her priority should be her studies and to avoid any premature romances.
But after starting high school, Yun Xizi t Tang Heping.
Just like Nana had said, Tang Heping was handso, like one of those academic achievers straight out of a book, brimming with scholarly charm, yet also good at sports.
He was unquestionably the school heartthrob.
However, at that ti, Yun Xizi kept to herself and barely had a presence in class.
Latterly, on the teacher’s arrangent, the English-struggling Yun Xizi was assigned to Tang Heping for one-on-one tutoring.
Tang Heping was easygoing and kind, and virtually everyone who spent ti with him found it hard not to like him.
Unsurprisingly, Yun Xizi was no exception.
She had always been afraid of interacting with others, generally resistant to strangers and clueless on how to express her own feelings of affection.
In front of Tang Heping, she scarcely spoke.
