Chapter 26: Chapter 26: The Ancestor Starts to Change Outfits
After buying a cellphone, Xia Xin took Jiangli to get a sim card and downloaded so essential apps for her. He added his own contact information and showed her so basic ways to use it.
That way, if Jiangli ever got separated from him, she could contact him right away.
Jiangli nodded in sudden understanding and began to explore her new phone.
Xia Xin then took Jiangli to buy clothes. On the third floor of the mall, there was a won’s clothing store, and he led her straight there.
Once Jiangli walked in, she saw a dazzling array of won’s clothing. They were strange and unusual, unlike anything she had seen before, but they also looked quite nice.
Xia Xin didn’t know much about won’s clothing and thought it would be better for Jiangli to choose sothing herself.
...
But perhaps it had been too long since the ancestress had been confined—or maybe she just had a unique taste—because the clothes she picked out were all flashy, obviously unsuitable for her.
Xia Xin, feeling helpless, had no choice but to ask a sales associate for assistance in selecting so appropriate clothes for Jiangli.
With a friendly smile, the sales associate quickly chose a black dress, so jeans and T-shirts, as well as a few pretty little dress sets for Jiangli.
After the selection was made, the sales associate handed the clothes to Jiangli and suggested she try them on in the fitting room to see how they looked on her.
Jiangli, not quite understanding, held the clothes and followed the sales associate to the fitting rooms.
Xia Xin waited outside and suddenly rembered that Jiangli had never seen these kinds of clothes before, let alone worn them, and he wondered if the ancestress would know how to wear them.
Xia Xin quickly located the sales associate and awkwardly asked, “Miss, could you please help with sothing?”
The sales associate’s smile was very kind. “What can I do for you?”
“It’s about the young girl who just went in. She used to live in a remote temple in the mountains and has only ever worn Taoist robes and such. She’s never worn these kinds of clothes. I’m afraid she might not know how to put them on. Could you please help her out?” Xia Xin was so embarrassed he felt his scalp tingle, but he still tried to explain the situation clearly.
Hearing this, the sales associate thought it made sense why the girl had such a unique aura from the mont she walked in.
Since it was part of her job anyway, the sales associate cheerfully agreed, “I’ll go take a look. Please wait here.”
Xia Xin thanked her profusely.
…
When Jiangli entered the changing room, she realized she was a bit out of her depth.
The clothes were pretty, but she didn’t know how to wear them.
As she hesitated, there were suddenly so knocks at the door.
Jiangli was on alert and looked towards the door, sensing a familiar presence outside. She opened it and saw the sales associate standing there.
The woman smiled gently at Jiangli. “Your friend ntioned you haven’t worn this type of clothing before and hoped I could help you. Do you need assistance?”
Friend?
That must an Xia Xin?
She hadn’t expected Xia Xin to be so observant.
With this in mind, Jiangli nodded slightly, “Then I will trouble you.”
The sales associate shook her head and went into the fitting room with Jiangli to help her.
It was while helping Jiangli change that the sales associate realized sothing—the girl wasn’t wearing any underwear, only a traditional undershirt like those seen in TV dramas.
This was too strange…
Did the remote temple not have proper clothing for won?
Feeling a wave of sympathy for the young girl before her, the sales associate’s deanor beca even gentler.
While Jiangli was selecting clothes with the help of the sales associate, another group was also busy elsewhere.
After leaving, Fu Shiyan and Duan Jianchuan went straight back to their own place.
Shiyan went to his study to deal with so work, while Jianchuan waited outside for so news.
About an hour later, there was a knock on the door of Shiyan’s study.
At this ti, he knew without a doubt who would dare to disturb him.
