Chapter 255: Chapter 255: The Snickering Ancestor Chapter 255: Chapter 255: The Snickering Ancestor Xia Xin glanced at the television content, which featured the classic segnt of Jack teasing Tom.
Children should really like it.
But for soone like the elder, chuckling foolishly at the animated show was sothing Xia Xin did not expect.
“The elder…” Xia Xin muttered, uncertain and sowhat suspicious that his own elder had been switched with soone else.
Jiangli, without even glancing at him, eyes locked on the TV, asked, “What’s wrong?”
Xia Xin pointed to the television and tentatively asked, “Elder, do you find this cartoon entertaining?”
“Yes, it’s entertaining; although it’s pretty silly, it’s silly in a cute way,” Jiangli replied sincerely.
Xia Xin thought that made sense; as long as the elder was happy, that was what mattered. He took out his phone and handed it to Jiangli, saying, “Elder, General Manager Fu has sent a ssage; he saved an elderly person on the road and is now at the hospital. He hopes we can stop by if we have ti.”
Jiangli diverted his gaze to the phone, extended his hand, and said, “Let see.”
Xia Xin passed the phone to him.
After taking a look, Jiangli made no comnts and handed the phone back to Xia Xin.
Xia Xin, puzzled, asked, “Elder, when shall we visit?”
“No rush, in a while,” Jiangli replied, turning his attention back to the television.
The next second, he burst into laughter.
“I’m dying of laughter… Is this cat stupid or what? What cat is so dumb that it can’t even catch a mouse!”
Xia Xin chuckled.
Calling the cat stupid, yet the elder, you’re thoroughly enjoying it, aren’t you?
Xia Xin glanced at the TV, seeing Jiangli laughing heartily, and thought to himself that cartoons indeed had their value.
He put away his phone, sat down on the stool beside the bed, and started on the serious matter, “Elder, what do you an by ‘in a while’? Are we going to the hospital tonight?”
“You’ll find out soon enough.” Jiangli didn’t even look his way.
It seed like nothing was more attractive than the animated show.
Xia Xin sighed and continued watching the cartoon with Jiangli.
Just then, a figure appeared at the entrance of Jiaoyang Temple, hesitantly pacing back and forth, as if contemplating sothing.
After a little while, as if having made up her mind, she approached and knocked on the door of Jiaoyang Temple.
“Bang, bang, bang—”
As Xia Xin and Jiangli were engrossed in the show, they heard a series of urgent knocks on the door.
Xia Xin snapped back to reality, “Who could it be at this hour?”
Jiangli nudged his chin outwards, “Go and see, and you’ll know.”
Xia Xin uttered an acknowledgnt and got up to check.
Jiangli then looked towards Lin Yurong, “Turn off the TV, so I just press this red button, right?”
Lin Yurong nodded, “Yes, that’s the power button. If the TV isn’t on, pressing it will turn it on, and if it’s currently on, pressing it will turn it off.”
Jiangli understood and quickly pressed the button.
The next second, she tossed the remote control onto the bed.
As she walked out, she spoke to Lin Yurong, “Just stay in my room; I might return late tonight, and don’t you go out.”
Lin Yurong obediently agreed, “I understand, Master.”
Jiangli nodded and stepped out.
…
Jiangli followed behind Xia Xin to the gate of Jiaoyang Temple.
Upon opening the door, Xia Xin saw a middle-aged woman standing there, probably around forty years old.
Xia Xin asked politely, “Hello, who are you looking for?”
The middle-aged woman looked at them, nervously clutching her hands, and asked, “Is this… Jiaoyang Temple? The one from the internet… that Jiaoyang Temple?”
Hearing this, Xia Xin knew she must have found her way here from online information.
Xia Xin imdiately said, “Yes, we are the Jiaoyang Temple from online. The Abbot is Jiangli; we also previously saved the beauty blogger Nana. Are you perhaps a fan of Nana?”
