At Xun Tianhai’s earnest request, Jiangli took over the handling work for the Unusual Affairs Managent Office in F City and established a specialized office there to deal with various bizarre events.
Besides her regular streams, Jiangli also needed to resolve minor troubles in F City in her capacity as the director of the Unusual Affairs Managent Office.
One day, she received another small task.
Soone had posted a task on a forum, saying that soone upstairs had committed suicide by jumping, and now every night, he hears what sounds like soone jumping and heavy objects continuously crashing down, hitting the walls and floor.
At first, he suspected he was imagining things, but when he invited a friend to stay over, both of them heard the noises.
He felt that this matter was not simple and wanted to find soone to co and dispel evil, so he could get a good night’s sleep.
The Unusual Affairs Managent Office under Jiangli’s command had actually recruited quite a few talents by now.
Such a small matter usually wouldn’t require Jiangli to step in personally.
But recently, Fu Shiyan, President Fu, had gone on a business trip to maintain appearances, leaving only Jiangli at ho; she was a bit bored and took up the task after seeing it, then brought Xia Xin along to investigate.
The person who posted the task was nad Tang Qi.
He lived in the west of the city.
When Jiangli and Xia Xin arrived at the address, Jiangli found the surroundings familiar and asked Xia Xin, "Have we been here before?"
Xia Xin nodded, "Yeah, Ancestor, you forgot? We were here before when we found Shuaishuai’s remains, the event with the life-stake. That incident caused quite a stir in our F City for a long ti before the police suppressed it. But the person in charge of the real estate, as well as the property itself, was abandoned."
Jiangli looked at the hospital ahead and said, "I was wondering, how co there’s a hospital here now?"
Xia Xin replied, "It’s a governnt project, a benefit policy. After the project was abandoned, the land beca a hot potato. The governnt took it over and built a hospital, which cald things down. However, due to the peculiar nature of this land, the housing prices in the surrounding residential areas have dropped."
Originally, most of this area was in a state of being developed, a great place where many people were waiting for redevelopnt compensation, hoping to beco the first to benefit from reconstruction.
However, because the life-stake incident blew up, the redevelopnt was seriously delayed with no progress in sight.
Tang Qi lived in the old community next door.
When Jiangli and Xia Xin arrived at Tang Qi’s place, Tang Qi was sitting wearily on his own sofa, full of worries.
Hearing a knock at the door, he opened it and imdiately recognized Jiangli and Xia Xin.
After all, he was a die-hard fan of Jiangli’s live broadcasts.
Seeing Jiangli, he felt as if he had seen a true deity, eager to pour out all his troubles in one go.
He lived on the third floor, and below was a shop; because of the rooftop of the shop, they had a large terrace.
When they first bought the place, looking at this terrace, everything seed great.
But...
Since the incident with the jumper, everything about this terrace made Tang Qi uneasy.
Their community was considered an older, newly-developed one, the first high-rise residential area from early years.
The entire building was 17 stories high.
The person who jumped was a resident of the 17th floor, and he jumped directly onto their terrace.
It happened in the middle of the night.
Tang Qi and his wife were asleep when a loud noise startled them awake.
Tang Qi initially thought it might be sothing thrown from above or a pet that fell, but when he followed the noise, he saw a body, like a broken doll, lying on his terrace, with blood splattered everywhere. He almost collapsed on the spot.
The incident took a long ti to get over, and he continued having nightmares.
Not only did he have nightmares, but he also often heard the sound of heavy objects hitting the ground at night, as if the person was continually jumping, repeating the sa action.
The noises would continue all night, only stopping at dawn.
Tang Qi complained, saying he was nearly driven insane by the noise.
Unfortunately, due to the life-stake incident that had previously occurred, the tenant upstairs committed suicide by jumping and landing on their terrace, rendering his property virtually unsellable.
Selling it was almost impossible unless at a very low price.
However, Tang Qi was just an ordinary salaryman with only one property.
