This tiline is set before the ending of the main story.
Duan Jianchuan never really liked Wen Zishu. Although they grew up together, he always disliked Wen Zishu’s slick talk and carefree lifestyle.
As soon as they started junior high, Wen Zishu changed girlfriends one after another.
This made Duan Jianchuan even more upset.
He couldn’t help it and got into argunts with Wen Zishu every day.
All their friends knew that they were always at odds, and that they would definitely argue if they t.
Duan Jianchuan also thought he really disliked Wen Zishu.
When did these feelings start to change?
Probably from the first ti he dread about Wen Zishu — it was a fantastical dream.
In the dream, it was actually Wen Zishu.
For the first ti, Duan Jianchuan panicked, fearful of the unknown, and this strange change in himself.
Then, he made his first evasive decision — to throw himself into the military.
He thought joining the military would make everything better, and he would forget this inexplicable shift in feelings.
But...
It didn’t.
He found himself thinking of Wen Zishu more and more.
Occasionally, when he returned on leave and saw Wen Zishu surrounded by one girlfriend after another, his anger and longing surged.
He couldn’t understand why Wen Zishu could be so carefree while he was so unhappy.
Later, after eting Jiangli, with just one sentence, Jiangli shattered Wen Zishu’s carefree dream, correcting his womanizer nature of many years.
At the ti, Duan Jianchuan felt quite happy.
But he forgot there’s a saying that a dog can’t change its habit of eating poop.
And another saying that mountains change easily, but personalities do not.
Once, Wen Zishu pulled him along to support him at a party.
At the party, a young male celebrity ca over to curry favor with Wen Zishu.
Wen Zishu was initially surprised but soon began to chat and laugh with the guy.
Duan Jianchuan nearly crushed the cup in his hand.
He had always believed Wen Zishu was a straight-as-an-arrow guy, only interested in girls, and never thought about bending Wen Zishu.
But he didn’t expect that Wen Zishu turned out to be an equal opportunist.
Duan Jianchuan, with a dark expression, watched him drink glass after glass with the male celebrity, getting himself drunk and wanting to check into a room with the guy.
Grinding his teeth, Duan Jianchuan heavily put down his glass, marched over, grabbed Wen Zishu, and took him away.
He couldn’t even rember what he was thinking at the ti.
He just thought, if he can accept another guy, why not him?
Perhaps it was the alcohol, or maybe the anger, but he did sothing he would never have imagined himself doing.
And even more unexpected...
Afterward, seeing Wen Zishu covered in bruises, once he sobered up, he chickened out. Without giving it much thought, his mind went blank, and he ran back.
Fu Shiyan was at ho then, and when he saw Duan Jianchuan co back, he asked about the perfu sll on him.
Duan Jianchuan didn’t dare say what had happened.
The next day, receiving a barrage of calls and ssages from Wen Zishu, he didn’t dare answer or reply.
He always considered himself soone who never regretted anything he did, believing himself to be carefree enough.
It was only then he realized how timid he actually was.
So timid that...
Even when accompanying Fu Shiyan to B City for the competition between Sang Country and ChinaCountry, he didn’t dare see Wen Zishu once.
Later, accompanying Fu Shiyan and others, he went to Dangshan.
When Fu Shiyan and Jiangli went into Dangshan for the last ti, he, as usual, went back to Wutong Garden to wait for news.
Only upon reaching the entrance did he discover that Wen Zishu had actually cornered him there.
Duan Jianchuan’s first reaction was to run.
But Wen Zishu had already seen him.
Seeing him about to run, Wen Zishu was furious.
"Damn it, Duan Jianchuan, are you even human? You’re such a jerk, putting on pants and pretending nothing happened? Do you dare not own up to your actions? Are you even a man?"
Hearing this, Duan Jianchuan steeled his resolve and walked over to hoist Wen Zishu up.
Wen Zishu was startled and struggled, shouting for Duan Jianchuan to let him go.
But Duan Jianchuan acted as if he didn’t hear, and once inside the room, physically demonstrated to Wen Zishu whether he was a man.
When Wen Zishu was kissed initially, he was stunned for a mont but didn’t resist.
At that mont, Duan Jianchuan realized sothing wasn’t right and paused to ask what he really felt.
Wen Zishu, blushing and stamring, said, "Well, it’s a strange feeling, but... I don’t hate it..."
Duan Jianchuan was taken aback for a mont, then laughed in anger, "Oh right, I forgot; young master Wen is all-accepting, eats both at and vegetables!"
Hearing this, Wen Zishu cursed, "Damn it, Duan ’Dog,’ don’t talk nonsense, it’s my first ti with a... with a man!!!!"
Duan Jianchuan’s expression turned imdiately serious. He promptly asked what was up with the young celebrity that night.
Wen Zishu cleared his throat and explained that their company now had a showbiz division, and the guy was a newly signed artist they had worked hard to recruit.
The guy wanted to have a drink with him, so he wouldn’t refuse.
Besides, he didn’t think at the ti that anything could happen with a guy.
The guy was a smooth talker, catering to his personality, and so they kept drinking and drinking.
He just got really drunk.
Listening to him, Duan Jianchuan maintained a stern face, squinting, only after a long pause asking, "So what do you feel about ?"
Hearing this, Wen Zishu flared up, glaring, "How should I know? I have no idea what’s going on either; when I woke up, you were gone. I wanted to know what that feeling was and what was going on, but did you give a chance? Duan ’Dog,’ I’m telling you, you really are a dog!!!"
From Wen Zishu’s words, Duan Jianchuan picked up on another layer of aning.
"So you’re saying, you knew it was that night, but you didn’t refuse?"
Wen Zishu’s face imdiately turned red, and he stamred without a conclusive answer.
What more did Duan Jianchuan need to understand?
Wen Zishu had been in countless relationships without even knowing who he genuinely liked.
Chasing him down to ask what he really thought ant he had so feelings.
Duan Jianchuan always thought Wen Zishu was a straight guy, making it hard to act.
Now, seeing Wen Zishu wasn’t even sure of his own orientation, there was nothing left to say. He simply acted, making Wen Zishu submit under his whims.
As for their relationship...
Jiangli only found out after so ti had passed after returning.
When she first ca back, Duan Jianchuan happened to be on a mission elsewhere, although Wen Zishu had visited her a few tis.
She could see that Wen Zishu’s true love had arrived.
But she didn’t match the na.
Until Duan Jianchuan finished his mission and returned, coming with Wen Zishu to see her.
Only then did she sense the problem.
And she gave them a saying.
"Sure enough, fighting is affection, and cursing is love."
Duan Jianchuan and Wen Zishu both turned a deep shade of red.
