Watching Fu Shiyan’s distant figure, Xia Xin muttered softly, "Actually, Mr. Fu is also really good to you, Sister. For your sake, he’s been planning for a long ti. It’s tough gathering so fragnts of your soul and nurturing them carefully. It’s not been easy for him these years. He’s been searching everywhere for ways to restore your soul, hoping to make you well again, Ancestor."

Upon hearing this, Jiangli’s expression froze for a mont.

Xia Xin continued to speak quietly, "Back then, when the Ancestor fell, he showed no reaction at all. I even wanted to curse him. Only later did I realize it’s not easy for him. For the past few years, he’s been traveling with Qing Yue to all sorts of mysterious organizations dostically and abroad, just to find a solution."

These were things Xia Xin heard from the Grand Master.

He also asked the Grand Master why soone as powerful as Fu Shiyan never thought of stopping all this from happening.

The Grand Master looked at him for a long ti before saying, Fu Shiyan understands Jiangli better than Jiangli does herself.

He knows Jiangli’s temperant.

Jiangli never ntioned it, but three thousand years ago, the wrongful deaths were like a massive knot pressed on her heart.

The second ti, she also failed to exterminate the Black Demon.

To her, the knot still existed and grew deeper.

And the Black Demon isn’t easy to deal with.

Even if Fu Shiyan sealed the Black Demon again using other thods, for Jiangli, it would still be a looming threat, like a ticking ti bomb.

With her character, she would ultimately want to resolve the Black Demon completely, even if it ans self-destruction.

Fu Shiyan could only find another solution—one that could remove Jiangli’s inner demons and keep her around for a long, long ti.

He researched for so many years and explored all sorts of thods to co up with this one solution.

After bidding farewell to Xia Xin, Jiangli went to the study by herself.

Fu Shiyan, to the outside world, is still the president of the Fu Group, and he remains quite busy with work.

Hearing footsteps, Fu Shiyan raised his head from in front of the computer.

Seeing Jiangli, he lifted a hand, signaling her to co over.

Jiangli quickly ran over and dove into Fu Shiyan’s arms like a koala, wrapping her legs around his waist and sitting on him.

Fu Shiyan rubbed her back with his hand while still glancing at the docunt. "Finally done talking?"

Hearing his complaint, Jiangli looked at him and suddenly asked, "Does it hurt?"

Fu Shiyan paused, "What?"

Jiangli: "Does extracting the dragon bone hurt?"

Fu Shiyan looked at her, "What about you?"

The two silently stared at each other.

Fu Shiyan was the first to accuse, "You’re asking this now? You’ve always acted without considering the consequences and never cared about ."

Jiangli felt guilty and leaned in to kiss the corner of his lips.

Fu Shiyan raised an eyebrow, "Where did you learn this trick from? Think that’ll stop from being angry?"

Jiangli pouted, "Speaking of which, you’re no different. Eight hundred years ago, you didn’t give any ti to react!"

Fu Shiyan was amused and laughed, "As soon as I ca out, you were already in trouble. How was I supposed to discuss it with you?"

Jiangli felt even guiltier.

She wrapped her hands around Fu Shiyan’s neck and leaned in, kissing him again.

Fu Shiyan remained unmoved, "That trick doesn’t work."

Jiangli blinked, "Really?"

Fu Shiyan raised his eyebrows.

Jiangli leaned in again, kissing the corner of his lips lightly, "Otherwise, tonight... let you bully , okay? Let’s not fuss over this, alright?"

Upon hearing this, Fu Shiyan picked her up and left.

Jiangli felt like she was tricked again.
