Chapter 1204: Chapter 1204: An Unusual Night
Bai Changfeng heard this and exchanged a look with Xun Tianhai.
Imdiately, he said, “I think we all need to rest, but we can’t all rest at the sa ti.”
“How about this, Tianhai, you go rest first, I’ll keep watch. After three, you co replace , and I’ll rest while you keep watch, ensuring soone is always watching. That way, everyone can feel a bit more at ease.”
Xun Tianhai agreed, “Alright, Lao Bai, I won’t be polite with you. I’ll go rest first.”
Bai Changfeng nodded.
Xun Tianhai looked around. He was tall, so curling up in a chair was really uncomfortable.
He glanced under the nearby table and noticed soone had left a yoga mat there.
He reached out, grabbed the yoga mat, walked to the empty wall nearby, and laid it out, then sat down against the wall, preparing to sleep.
Xia Xin, feeling a bit sleepy too, saw that they were all going to rest and also lay down on his desk to sleep.
Jiangli and Fu Shiyan had already gone to sleep earlier.
For a mont, everyone in the room was asleep; the entire 17th floor was quiet, and apart from them, it seed there wasn’t a living soul around.
It’s unclear how long he had slept when Xun Tianhai suddenly heard a strange noise.
“Clang—”
It sounded like sothing heavy hitting the ground.
Xun Tianhai opened his eyes with a start and was imdiately hit by a nauseating stench, as if soone was pouring blood right in front of him.
The sll was so overpowering that he found it hard to bear.
Xun Tianhai covered his nose, waking up as he lifted his head to look ahead.
There, he saw a person standing.
It was a woman.
She wore a dress in a peach blossom hue, with a large open back that showcased her beautiful waistline.
Her long hair cascaded down, perfectly resting where her skin was exposed.
Just from this back view, she was an exceptionally beautiful woman.
But…
This back view didn’t belong to anyone Xun Tianhai knew.
Xun Tianhai imdiately beca alert, one hand reaching into his pocket, the other propping himself up to stand.
“Hey, who are you?”
As if hearing his voice, the woman in front slowly turned around.
The next second, upon seeing her face, Xun Tianhai gasped in shock.
The face that turned toward him was a bloodied ss, features indistinguishable as if wrapped in a layer of gore, all blood-red with no discernible eyes, nose, or mouth.
What the hell is this!
Xun Tianhai stared at her, grabbed the Evil-Expelling Talisman from his pocket, and promptly threw it at the woman.
She stood there, motionless, neither dodging nor evading.
She seed not to be afraid at all.
And when Xun Tianhai’s talisman landed on her, it had no effect whatsoever.
Facing Xun Tianhai, in the next mont, the bloody mask on her face peeled away, swiftly launching at Xun Tianhai’s face.
Xun Tianhai grimaced, quickly dodging while drawing a dagger from his waist, swiftly lunging at the woman.
He slapped a talisman onto the dagger and charged toward the woman, thrusting the dagger at her chest.
The woman’s body flickered, instantly retreating several steps, creating distance between her and Xun Tianhai.
She stood not far away, staring at Xun Tianhai with that blood-filled face, suddenly opening up a crack that seed like a mouth.
The next instant, she raised her hand abruptly.
Xun Tianhai hadn’t reacted when she folded her arm down.
A sharp crack, like the sound of a bone breaking, echoed suddenly.
At the sa ti, Xun Tianhai felt a dull pain in his left arm, as if soone had forcibly chopped it off.
The pain drained the color from his face.
Then, the woman looked at him again and raised her right hand.
