Chapter 1168: Chapter 1168: The Patriarch’s Guidance
Clicking her tongue, Jiangli glanced upwards and then cast a quick look at the staircase beside her.
The next second, she stepped towards the stairs.
Fu Shiyan saw this and silently followed.
Jiangli had instructed him to follow her constantly, but not to interfere with her duties. So, he followed her everywhere, rarely speaking, and no longer teasing Jiangli like he used to.
Now he was exceptionally quiet, as if he didn’t exist.
Jiangli sensed his presence beside her, so she didn’t specifically acknowledge him.
The two of them went upstairs like this.
On the second floor, there was an open area made into a small balcony, belonging to the leisure area outside the second-floor office.
Jiangli and Fu Shiyan stood by the glass railing, looking down.
Qing Yue was standing downstairs, looking up at them, but didn’t follow imdiately, seemingly forgetting his earlier remark about protecting Fu Shiyan.
He found a chair and sat down directly, appearing lazier than Jiangli had been.
Jiangli’s gaze swept over Qing Yue, then fell on all the furnishings in the lobby.
Xia Xin, like everyone else, was walking back and forth in the lobby.
Quite a few people also noticed that there seed to be no clues in the lobby and began heading upstairs.
Besides this staircase, the other floors could only be accessed via an elevator.
This second floor seed to be separately isolated.
Soone noticed Jiangli and Fu Shiyan standing on the second floor and appeared sowhat curious about what they were doing.
But after staring at Fu Shiyan and Jiangli for a while, they found the two of them motionless, like two sculptures.
The crowd lost interest and assud they were just there to make up numbers, shrugged, and continued searching on the second floor.
At this point, Xia Xin made his way to the second floor too.
ng Hongyao followed him up.
After reaching the top and seeing Jiangli and Fu Shiyan standing there, they walked over as well.
“Ancestor, Mr. Fu, what are you looking at?”
Hearing this, Jiangli beckoned him with her finger, “Co over.”
Xia Xin, puzzled, walked over with ng Hongyao, standing in front of the glass railing.
Jiangli’s fingers tapped lightly on the top of the railing, one after another, like a drumbeat.
Xia Xin heard her ask, “Look down and see if you can spot anything.”
Look down?
Xia Xin was a bit confused, but obediently followed Jiangli’s words and peered downward.
ng Hongyao also looked over.
From here, one could see all the movents of people in the lobby clearly.
But…
What was the use of this?
Both Xia Xin and ng Hongyao had a question mark in their hearts.
Then, Jiangli’s voice sounded again, “Look closely at those furnishings.”
Furnishings?
Xia Xin and ng Hongyao simultaneously glanced back at Jiangli and Fu Shiyan, then both focused their eyes on the furnishings in the lobby.
But…
Apart from looking expensive and so being particularly artistic, there was nothing special about the furnishings.
Xia Xin couldn’t help but mutter, “Ancestor, aren’t these just ordinary furnishings?”
Jiangli said disdainfully, “I told you to look; can’t you use your brain a bit? Look again carefully, and if you can’t figure it out, you’ll stand here all day! You leave when you figure it out!”
Xia Xin: “…”
He shrank his neck a bit, nervous, gripping the railing with sweaty palms.
But he didn’t dare relax, holding his breath as he stared at those furnishings downstairs, examining them over and over again ticulously.
Yet, whether horizontally or vertically, he couldn’t discern anything peculiar.
Xia Xin felt a bit bewildered, licking the corner of his lips, looking to ng Hongyao for help, silently asking if she had seen any clues, hinting to him.
