"Fiona! You should have stayed back for a while longer!" Eldric said, glancing at the door one more ti to make sure it had been firmly closed before dropping into the sofa he had been sitting on as he watched Fiona, his daughter, move closer to sit right beside him.
"Father! I was sure Cain had left!" she said as she sat beside him, wrapping her arms around his own and leaning against him.
"I heard the entire conversation!" she said, her eyes fixed on the glass table in the room as she spoke with a worried expression on her face.
"There’s nothing to worry about! Everything is going as expected! Cain was supposed to refuse so that I won’t have to keep giving him the dicine. Once the stash I ordered Ravon not to hide is finished, he’ll co back to ask for more, and then he’ll have no choice but to accept my terms!" Eldric said with a determined expression on his face.
Turning his gaze to look at his only daughter, whom he had picked up and adopted from a very young age simply for such a purpose.
His own son was a rogue, but Fiona had been the perfect daughter who always went out of her way to please him.
"If he agrees to sleep with , then I would willingly have his child, Father!" Fiona softly said, her gaze fixed on the table even as she felt Eldric pat her head fondly.
Her eyes blazed with excitent as she said it, but she knew better than to show it. Cain was to be used for Eldric’s purposes of getting a strong grandchild and not soone she should have fallen for, but the fact remained that she did.
Just standing behind the screen and peeping at him, staring at his handso face, had lted her heart.
His blank gaze had conjured a burning desire in her chest to have him hold her and, beyond that, have him fall completely for her and only her.
’By the ti I’m pregnant with his child, he’ll definitely fall for !’ she thought to herself with a smile.
"...but Father, when will the potion be ready? The one that would make him fall for ?" she asked, knowing that no matter the effect of the potion, it would simply be temporary.
"Patience! It’s still being made. It should take about a week or two, but I’ll make sure to tell the witch to hurry," Eldric responded with a sly grin on his face.
"Even without the potion, I don’t think any man in this world would be able to resist you! We should create a chance eting between the two of you as soon as possible!" Eldric decided, confident that it was better to plant a seed first before they watered it.
Fiona, raising her head, ekly nodded her head as she stared at her father with a soft expression on her face.
"You tease , Father!" she said with her cutest voice and expression as she clung to him, watching him erupt in laughter as he watched her pout with puffed-up cheeks.
"I an every word! Once we have what we want, I’ll get rid of Cain, and we can then find a suitable husband for you!" Eldric continued, even as Fiona had to make a conscious effort not to frown or show a change of emotion as she heard Eldric speak.
"Don’t worry, it’d be soone who’s good to you!" Eldric promised, patting her head with an adoring look on his face, even as Fiona nodded her head submissively and leaned back into his embrace.
A frown plastered onto her face at the thought of Cain dying. ’...If he falls for , maybe I can get him and Father to co to a truce!’
’A child can definitely do that!’ she decided, knowing how much Eldric wanted a grandchild and how no father would ever abandon their child by blood.
The more she thought about it, the more determined she was to make sure that it happened, as she realized that it was also the only way to ensure that Cain wasn’t killed.
After his parents died when he was five, Cain had lived with them for years until he moved out when he was almost eighteen against her father’s will.
But while he had always been cold to her, Fiona had found herself falling greatly in love with everything about him regardless of the way he treated her.
’I’ll have you if it’s the last thing I ever do!’ she internally swore to herself, staring at the glass table in the middle of the room without actually seeing it.
Eldric was the sa as he embraced Fiona with a smile on his face, even as his mind wandered away to the things that needed to be done.
Partnering up with one of the vampire lords had been the right thing to do, but most of all, he had never regretted his decision to partner with Lady June, the powerful witch that had killed his brother and his wife just as they were to be crowned as Werewolf Alpha and Luna.
A crown he would have been unable to steal away once it had been finalized. The only thing he regretted was Cain, whom the witch had left alive to complete her experints with.
’It doesn’t matter!’ he thought to himself with a cruel grin as he stared into thin air.
’The main use of the dicine isn’t to suppress his curse, and by now it doesn’t matter whether or not he stops taking it. When the ti is right, his blood will be drained, and werewolves too would be able to live forever!’
The thought of having an immortal soul like the Reds had been sothing he had desperately wanted and would soon be close to achieving.
The more he thought about it, the wider his grin beca as he turned to Fiona, speaking with clear excitent in his tone as he got on his feet.
"We should eat together before I have to leave to attend the council eting!" he said, stretching out his arm for her to take.
Fiona, getting on her feet in the most ladylike fashion, wrapped her arm around her father’s own with visible excitent in her eyes as she responded.
"Yes, Father!"
