Ravon didn’t even hesitate to call Eldric about what he had just seen only to be annoyed to be imdiately summoned in such a fashion but too cowardly to complain to Eldric’s face about how long it took to travel to Eldric’s district, Ravon fell to his knees the mont he entered Eldric’s study, his head lowered to the ground.

Eldric was already waiting for him, his hands folded on his chest, a dark look on his face. But deep within his gaze was a slight look of glee, like a child that had just gotten the Christmas present he had been desperately hoping for.

"Spit it out! You saw his beast form?" Eldric asked, and Ravon, who hadn’t actually seen it, imdiately nodded his head. Aware of what the consequences would be if Eldric got angry at him again for allowing himself to be nothing more than Vice in na, Ravon thought, What’s the difference between hearing and seeing it!

"I saw him, Lord Eldric! He was huge, and he stood behind the Lover. He was definitely in his beast form, and he growled like an animal!"

"He didn’t communicate with you? At all?" Eldric asked, trying to confirm that he wasn’t rejoicing too soon.

The fact that the Lover was able to stand with Cain’s beast and not be torn to pieces indeed ant that he had not completely gone crazy, and so part of him still remained—sothing that brought no delight to Eldric’s face.

"He said nothing, my lord! It was his lover that responded to !" Ravon answered, even as he kept his head low and waited for whatever orders Eldric would give him next. Aware that if he failed to carry it out, it wasn’t only his head that would be on the line but also that of his family.

"Confirm!! I want you to confirm if anyone else had seen him!" Eldric insisted, gesturing that Ravon call one of his subordinates in the mansion that answered to him. If he was going to remove Cain once and for all as lord, then there needed to be witnesses.

Moreover, he couldn’t just call the lords out of their busy schedules and give them nothing for it. He needed to be absolutely sure that Cain had indeed beco a beast and could no longer function as lord.

Ravon instantly nodded his head and imdiately dialed the number, placing it against his ear as he listened. A delighted expression flashed across his face the longer he heard the words coming from the other side.

A few minutes had only passed when he went ahead to hang up before narrating everything the subordinate had seen and heard, along with the large amounts of at that Henry, the head of Cain’s elite guards, had ordered.

For a few monts, Eldric didn’t speak as he simply nodded his head, even though the smile on his face slowly grew bigger the more he listened to Ravon.

"Good! Good! That’s good!" he said, turning his back to Ravon and heading towards his study table, where he picked up his phone and began to call each and every one of the Werewolf lords, even as he gave them a slightly exaggerated version of what Ravon had told him.

There was no way any of them could allow a rogue lord to continue to exist in a district where millions of innocent lives could be at stake.

It didn’t help that Cain’s track record of killing was even harder to dismiss, especially because of the hundreds of people he had killed even while he was his usual self.

Gratified to hear the Lords imdiately answer that they would head straight to Cain’s district, Eldric felt a surge of satisfaction.

Cain’s beast was huge, and although the way he had attacked Lord Magnus had been shocking, none of them believed that they wouldn’t be able to take him down if they all worked together—even going as far as to use ’Silver,’ the most deadly of their weaknesses. He was strong...not immortal!

Eldric had just finished speaking and had dropped the phone back on the table when a full smile appeared on his face. He had already been wary of the next council eting, which was in two days, and about Fervor, who would attend.

He had done his best to remove all evidence of what he had done, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that Fervor had sothing against him—sothing he had tried to find. Sensing n after n into the mansion only for their heads to be delivered at his doorstep the next morning in a box.

This is good! he muttered to himself, his patience towards Cain having run out as he beckoned towards Ravon to get out. But Ravon, whose head was lowered, didn’t see it.

"GET OUT!" Eldric snapped in a louder voice, his eyes boiling with irritation even as he watched Ravon finally respond, scrambling to his feet as he headed out of the office.

The door had just shut behind him when Eldric imdiately turned towards the shelf on his right, pulling out a bunch of keys from a hidden part of his drawer—which only he knew—as he moved to open the topmost part of it.

There was only one thing there, and it was a transparent vial that seed to contain barely a few drops of sothing that looked completely black.

Still, he picked it up before shutting the drawer, even as he started intensely at it. He didn’t trust June, but at that mont, he had no choice. Lady June wanted their partnership to continue more than she wanted to kill him.

This would balance things, he thought to himself, lifting the vial up as he stared intensely at it, aware that as long as he took one drop of it, not only would he be much stronger, but his regenerative abilities would also soar.

His heart raced in his chest from excitent as he imdiately went ahead to store the vial in his breast pocket—too precious for him to risk breaking it. Striding out of the room the next second with a hint of a smile on his face, he hurriedly did so.

Only for a frown to appear as he stepped out and saw Ravon leaning against the wall by the door, waiting for him. Eldric couldn’t help but grumble within himself about why he still allowed such a useless fellow to continue to work for him. Only to rember, just as he moved to walk past him, opening his mouth to speak at the sa ti.

"Follow !" he ordered, even as he realized that if he didn’t keep a fool like Ravon around, then who else would he use at a crucial mont when he desperately needed soone to take the fall?

Ravon didn’t hesitate to do as he was told, a light smile on his face as he easily bowed his head like he was supposed to, even if ntally he raged in fury.

Again, he served Eldric not to be a slave but to be able to be useful enough that Eldric would see him as being capable enough to directly work under him and take Cain’s place.

From the look of disdain that flashed on Eldric’s face every ti he saw him, even Ravon, who wasn’t able to make excessive plans, wasn’t dumb enough to think that Eldric liked him. He could even go as far as to think that he was despised.

Ravon knew better than to let his thoughts show as he continued to wear a silly expression on his face, bowing his head even more than usual to ensure that he didn’t slip up.

The only thing he kept in mind was that his ti would co, and when it did...he would take it!
