Vazer knew sothing had gone wrong the second he heard the alarm.

He had just figured out the exact location of Masdaw’s office and was about to enter when he heard it. Still, that didn’t stop him from going in!

Intent on looking through and finding at least sothing to make his effort of sneaking in worth it, he was startled by loud gunshots that made him instantly freeze as he stood in front of the door, about to pull the handle open.

There were loud screams, a precursor to the chaos he could hear but had yet to see. A huge frown instantly appeared on his face, considering he had warned Cain not to go ahead by himself and to wait for him.

Did sothing happen? he mumbled to himself, thinking that the only thing that could have made Cain act prematurely was if, by sheer bad luck, the person he had transford into—Sir Nigel—had actually co back.

At that very mont, Vazer instantly changed all his features, including his uniform, to that of one of the elite guards he had passed on his way there. He backed away from the door, running through the corridor and down the stairs until he ca across another guard, whom he imdiately questioned.

"What’s going on?" he asked in the sa authoritative tone he had used earlier, staring intensely at the man, who vigorously bowed his head in response.

"A-attack! WE’RE UNDER ATTACK!"

Vazer darted past him with lightning speed even before the guard was done speaking, his eyes locking onto the gate where explosions were erupting.

Without any hesitation whatsoever, Vazer pulled out a knife he had carefully prepared with symbols of a werewolf, even as he changed his face and body size to that of Cain, going as far as to make one of his eyes gold and the other red for the necessary effect.

He was faster than normal Reds, and he had no problems leaving a trail of death around him as he slashed off heads, not discriminating between servants and guards as he carved a path toward the gate.

Aware that he needed to get there as soon as possible to aid Cain in dealing with Lord Masdaw, Vazer moved with incredible speed, the faint sll of blood clinging to the air as he killed anyone and everyone who crossed his path. Within seconds, he was closer to the gates.

Transforming his face from Cain’s to that of another Werewolf lord, ’Lord Harriet’—even though changing into a woman wasn’t sothing he particularly enjoyed—he ensured the transformation was flawless as he dashed forward. But he froze even before he reached the gates, seeing piles and piles of bodies skewered on the floor. His eyes caught sight of Cain...or at least the beast he assud to be Cain, a short distance away, battling Lord Masdaw, who had sohow transford into a dark, shadow-like being. Despite Cain’s massive claws slashing at it, the shadow simply broke apart and reford again.

Shit! Vazer cursed under his breath as he realized that, of all the vampire Lords they could have dealt with, they had been unlucky enough to pick the one who seed to be the hardest to kill.

The loud alarms in the mansion continued to blare, clearly not only signaling that sothing was wrong but also drawing attention for help. Vazer’s face creased in worry at the thought that Masdaw might have a contingency plan to call for aid from other lords, which would be disastrous for them.

But Vazer was still considering dashing toward the huge, manic wolf beast—twice the size of a building—when he heard loud sounds behind him. Turning around, he saw guards with long-range weapons, loud booms going off one after the other as they began to shoot vigorously at Cain.

A trace of displeasure flashed across his face as he dashed toward them, transforming into the face of the guard he had previously used. His frustration wasn’t due to the difficulty of dealing with them but rather how long it would take, given their numbers.

If I knew I was going to have to work this much, I would have brought more people! he internally joked, aware that he couldn’t have brought more since even the n he had brought were all wearing contacts to ensure it looked like a Werewolf attack, with no traces that Cain was helped by a Red.

With a hint of a smile on his face and clenching the knife in his hand tightly, he began to take their heads off their shoulders, even as they scread. So were too panicked to shoot him and ended up shooting their fellow guards instead.

Vazer would have liked to play around, but he couldn’t. Although he couldn’t see Cain’s fight with Masdaw, the little he had seen was enough for him to tell that Cain would be unable to kill Masdaw in his beast form. It didn’t help that the longer the fight dragged on, the more angry and manic the beast beca, especially considering how easily Masdaw evaded him.

The worst-case scenario would be Masdaw sohow getting away, which would be disastrous for Vazer in particular since Masdaw would report to Javi, who had partnered with him. Vazer could destroy the caras and all traces, but until Masdaw’s body was in front of him, dead, he wouldn’t have any peace. Unlike Cain, who could kill his servants and get away with it, the population of Reds was dwindling, and it was a huge cri to kill so many of them—especially when it was done by a Red.

Vazer’s eyes flashed coldly as he continued to kill the guards without any rcy, just enough for all of them to realize the futility of their attacks and run off. The frown on his face deepened when they didn’t, but he remained unconcerned. If I have to kill everyone here to achieve my goals...then all of you should just go to hell! His clothes were drenched in blood, his face half-covered in it, but he simply wiped it off like it was sweat and continued.
