Silas’s POV
"No, Silas, you look absolutely fine, and it’s not even childish. It actually suits you."
I was also looking in the mirror, and honestly, I thought I looked hella ugly. That’s why I was about to take off the headband when Jeren suddenly grabbed my hand.
"No, please don’t take it off. Let’s at least take a selfie first."
"Why a selfie, Mr. Jeren? And you still haven’t told what you wanted to talk about."
My ice cream was lting, so I quickly started eating it and glanced at Jeren, waiting for his answer. But he remained silent, looking around instead of replying.
"Let’s go on the roller coaster first, then we’ll talk."
Well, I also wanted to go on the roller coaster, so I didn’t refuse. We both stepped out of the shop, and I quickly finished my ice cream. Just then—
"Oh! Sir, you’re here too?"
It was Ciel’s voice. The mont I heard it, I turned to look at him. He was walking toward us, smiling like he wasn’t the most annoying person in my life.
"Mr. Jeren, let’s go over there quickly."
I grabbed Jeren’s hand and pulled him away before Ciel could even start talking. He was left standing there, unable to say a word.
After that, we went on many rides—three tis each. It was so much fun. Jeren was actually a nice and gentle man...
Before I even realized it, evening had arrived. As our rides ca to an end, we stood there, waiting for Shine.
"Mr. Jeren, can you tell now?"
"Well, the party that’s happening soon... Would you like to go with ?"
A party? If I’m not wrong, he’s talking about that party—the one I already got an invitation to.
"Why are you asking to go with you? Can’t you go alone? Or are you saying I can’t go alone?"
"No, Silas, it’s not like that. I just want to go with you. Don’t think too much—you’re the sa age as my son."
Yeah, well, he’s right. He’s much older than , so I shouldn’t overthink it. Besides, I was worried about how I’d go to that party since it would be my first ti. If I go with him, it’ll be easier.
"Okay, but tell what to wear beforehand, alright?" I said, making it sound like a deal.
"Okay, deal." He agreed, and we high-fived like friends.
I looked around for Ciel, but he was nowhere to be seen. When Shine arrived, I said goodbye to Jeren and left with him.
As soon as I got in the car—
"Silas, are you okay? That man didn’t do anything wrong to you, did he?"
I flinched at Shine’s sudden question, but then I realized he was just worried about .
"What would he do? He didn’t do anything at all."
"Glad to hear that. But if anyone tries to take advantage of you, let know—I’ll beat the shit out of them for you."
Does he think I have no strength or what? Is that why he’s saying this?
"Okay, I’ll tell you if anything happens."
He smiled and continued driving. Since we had eaten in the afternoon and it was already evening, we were starving.
That’s why we ordered food while sitting in the car in front of a hotel. In no ti, the waiter ca out and brought our food.
I handed Shine his portion and grabbed mine.
In five minutes, we reached ho. To my surprise, Shine also followed inside.
I thought he’d eat at his own house, but since he was already here, I couldn’t just kick him out. So, I let him stay.
After we finished eating, he sat on the floor without saying a word, which made things super awkward for .
"Umm... aren’t you going back to your house?" I asked.
"No. I know you’re scared of being alone in the house—just like . So if I stay here, will that bother you? I’ll sleep on the ground, just give so pillows."
What is he saying? Does he even realize that when soone says sothing like this, it makes feel super bad for them?
"There’s no need to sleep on the ground. There’s a guest room over there if you want to stay. But keep in mind, I don’t fully trust you yet. I was just betrayed by my own manager."
"So even if I wanted to, I wouldn’t be able to trust you so easily."
"Then, Silas, I’ll do my best to make you trust ."
Since he was about to stay in my house—just like Nekol—I had to tell him that. And now he’s saying he’ll earn my trust? Well, I’ll see how that goes.
He made himself comfortable in the guest room and didn’t even lock the door while sleeping.
I watched TV for a few more minutes, and when I was about to go to sleep, I peeked into Shine’s room. He was already asleep.
Man, he’s a fast sleeper. How can soone fall asleep so quickly?
Well, I was feeling really sleepy too, so I went to my room. For so reason, knowing soone else was in the house made feel relieved. Still, I locked my door—just in case.
I jumped onto my bed without even glancing at my phone and instantly fell asleep.
---
The next morning, I woke up to noise coming from outside. I quickly got out of bed, yawning, and opened my door—only to see Lysander standing at the entrance while Shine stood in front of him, blocking his way.
"You can’t co in. Silas isn’t awake yet. And how can you just barge into an Oga’s house?"
"Hey, did your boss1 tell you to do this? Huh? Tell now! Why are you stopping from seeing my babe?
Why is Shine stopping Lysander? Don’t tell it’s for my safety... but I have no reason to fear Lysander.
"Shine, let him in."
As soon as I spoke, both of them turned to look at . Lysander imdiately rushed inside.
"My babe, Silas!"
He ran straight toward , suddenly grabbed by the waist, and picked up—spinning around in the air.
