Silas’s POV

Main problem was now that everything was happening so fast that I didn’t know what to do.

"Silas, you just stay with Velric and don’t co out from the palace. We will handle this situation," Damon said.

And they all had to go too, because that’s how they could save us from this destruction. But I didn’t want to stay in the bunker like so coward... I also wanted to fight by their side. But seeing that situation, I didn’t say anything and just nodded.

The four of them got ready to leave for the war, because our knights with the general were already fighting.

"Promise , all of you, that you will co back alive and safe and sound." I tied the handkerchief on each of their hands.

And the feeling I was feeling at that mont—like sothing really bad was going to happen—I could feel that. But I was hoping that everything would be fine.

Kael caressed my cheek. "Silas, we don’t know about safe and sound, but yes, we will co back alive. That’s a promise."

I smiled and hugged all four of them.

"Are you going to work, daddies?" Velric asked, seeing them leave.

Theron picked Velric up into his arms.

"We are going to war. Bad people are trying to hurt our people and your mom too. That’s why we have to go there," Theron tried to explain to Velric.

But I think Velric is still too young to understand the aning of war, I am sure.

"Then you beat all those bad people, Daddy! That way they won’t hurt Mumma, and I will also co with you, cuz I am a hero who saves everyone!"

Indeed, he didn’t really understand how dangerous war can be, but it’s okay, because he is my cutie pie.

"Hahaha... Velric, why are you so cute?" I couldn’t hold my laugh back hearing that.

"Velric, that’s why we are giving you the responsibility to protect your mom and stay here."

"Yes," Velric said determinedly.

Don’t know why, but this mont felt like the happiest family in the world. We all hugged together, and while holding Velric in my arms, I stood there, watching the four of them leave in front of my eyes.

"Mumma, should we play?" I nodded and started to do the work that was needed.

The four of them had said that if the situation really got out of hand, I should also hide in the bunkers. I nodded, but I’m not gonna hide at all.

Since they are not here, it’s my duty to protect.

"Guards, tighten the security around the palace and bunkers too, and make sure everyone gets inside safely," I gave the order, and just then I heard—

"Silas." It was Orian’s voice. I quickly turned around and saw Orian was injured; blood was flowing from his head. And yer was beside him.

His arms were heavily injured, and a stabbing wound was on his chest too. I ran to them.

"Orian and yer, how did this happen?"

"Treason! All the nobles ca together to take the throne and they tried to kill us too, but we escaped since no knights were on our side. And we ca here by the hidden path Damon had once told ," Orian said, holding yer.

"Call the royal physician right now," I said and took both of them into the room. In ten minutes, the physician had co and he checked both of them one by one.

Orian’s head injury was not that serious, but yer’s wounds were pretty bad—he passed out while the doctor was checking him.

And after a whole hour, the doctor stitched the cuts on yer’s chest and arms. He was sleeping now. The nanny had taken Velric to his room to play, because he couldn’t see any of this.

Orian and I ca out from the palace because the situation was really getting out of hand. Orian was still shaken by what had happened to him.

He had been sleeping at night with yer when a few knights with nobles sneaked into their room to kill them. But at the right mont, they both woke up and yer got injured while saving Orian, and Orian also got injured. They both escaped since last night and now reached here.

Hours were passing, but we hadn’t gotten any news from those four yet, and we also didn’t know what was happening on the battlefield now.

Half an hour ago, one soldier ca and told that they had sent all the people to the bunkers, but I don’t know why—I was feeling like he was lying.

I could tell from the way he was looking around while talking.

That’s why I told another soldier to keep an eye on him. And I myself went to check the bunkers, leaving Orian here to handle things.

But when I reached the bunker with trustworthy soldiers, I saw it was so quiet there, like no one was there.

"Don’t you think it’s weird here?" I asked while looking around.

"Yes, but I think everyone is hiding well in the bunkers so that no one knows about them," the soldier said.

And I think he’s right—all the pack mbers must be hiding very well, being quiet so that they won’t draw the enemy’s attention. And that’s good.

"Open the bunker door right now," I ordered, and the soldiers opened the door. Two of them went ahead of into the bunkers, and after them, I went in, with two more soldiers behind .

But the breathing sound too—I was unable to hear, which was indeed weird. When we went further, my eyes widened at the scene.

Because in front of , there was a mountain of corpses—all the pack mbers had been brutally killed.

"What is this?!" Who killed all these innocent people for no reason?

Wait—that soldier who told they had sent everyone safely to the bunker... is this what he ant? Did he kill all these people, or was he one of Krivan’s soldiers who had successfully sneaked inside?

From little children to the eldest mbers of the pack—they were all stabbed. I couldn’t protect anyone. I failed as the Luna of the pack. It felt like so part of my body had been taken away.

I turned to those soldiers, because I didn’t know if they were really on our side or not. They were all shocked too, just like .

"Let’s go back. No one is safe at the palace right now," I left from there, and they all followed , but I was still unable to figure out their intentions, since they didn’t harm at all.

And when we were going back to the palace, I noticed that no one was there to attack . That’s why, without wasting any ti, I first reached the palace. As we arrived, soldiers were standing there, but their eyes seed different.

I left those soldiers behind and ran inside the palace. I went to Velric’s room, but he wasn’t there—and just then I felt a touch on my shoulder. That’s why I looked back, and Orian was standing there with Velric in his arms.

"Silas, nothing is good—we have to run, because all the soldiers of this palace have gone mad and they have started to kill all the servants. Even the royal physician died while saving ."

Orian was panting, aning he had been running, and Velric was hugging him tightly like he was scared.

"Don’t worry. I know where to go. But where is yer?" I asked.

As I asked, suddenly I saw two swords near my neck from both sides. And I noticed that soldiers had surrounded us.

"Stand up. His Lord has called you."

I grabbed one of their swords and killed all of those soldiers. Because if I hadn’t killed them, they would have killed by now. After that, still holding a sword, I grabbed Orian’s hand and started to run. We reached yer’s room, but already so soldiers were standing beside yer.

"What are you doing?" I asked while going inside the room.

Orian also stepped inside and closed the door behind him. Seeing ogas in front of them, those soldiers smirked, and I couldn’t really tell from which pack these soldiers were from, because their uniform was black—I had never seen any soldier’s uniform in black.

"Ogas are here to offer themselves? Fine. We will also give you pleasure before killing you."

Wait—they don’t recognize at all. I smiled gently at them while taking steps toward them, and in a second, I slit their throats. They both died on the spot.

When Orian put Velric down on the bed, he saw . And seeing , his eyes beca teary and he was about to cry. I quickly covered Velric’s mouth with one hand.

"Shhh... bad people are already here. You can’t make any noise or they will know we are hiding here." He nodded. I hugged him.

While hugging, my gaze shifted to Orian and yer. Orian was sitting there, holding his hands.
