Silas’s POV
I don’t know what he was doing there, but seeing him, I felt strange, like I can’t tell if he’s following . First in the restaurant, then he ca to the carriage, and now, he’s inside the palace.
"Silas, we et again," he said, but I barely replied to him. I was only staring at him. Of course, he seed happy to see , but I was not.
"Are you following or sothing? If not, then how co you are also here?"
"Silas, do you know this alpha?" Orian asked.
"Yeah, I t him in the main city. He was sitting ahead of and ca to my table while I was eating, and before that, I t him at Lysander’s birthday party."
Orian nodded, but then he glared at that alpha, because, of course, anyone can get angry if they hear that this guy was there, and now here too!
"Look, I’m not following you or anything like that. Just hear out," he explained.
"It’s just that I have so work with His Highness Damon. That’s why I am here. I have an appointnt with him."
"Really? Then go ahead, et him," I said before leaving from there.
When we left from there, I saw Kael standing in the corner. By his hair, I had recognized him, but still, I didn’t call him out. When we passed by him, I saw he was standing there, and his face looked so sad. That’s why I stopped and turned to him.
"What happened? Why are you standing here like this?"
"I’m sorry, Silas. What Lysander did to you? It’s very wrong. I’m really, really sorry."
He looked more guilty than Lysander himself. "Kael, did you cry?"
His eyes were red, so it was obvious that he had cried. But he denied it while shaking his head, like he didn’t cry. Does he think I’m a fool?
"I’m telling you, I didn’t cry."
"Yeah, I can see that. Those red eyes of yours are telling everything."
And just then, conversation sounds reached my ears. Hearing that, I turned behind and saw yer was standing there while talking with Orian.
"Silas, you talk with Kael. I will go with yer, okay?" Orian said, and I nodded.
When Orian left from there, I noticed Kael was literally sniffing, standing in front of . Seeing him, I rembered Lysander also cried like this. I think I am a soft-hearted person. Why am I like this? Lysander did such a thing to , and still I am feeling pity for him. When I rember now, he must have caught a cold after crying. And no one asked about his head injury too. But no, I can’t think about him anymore.
I was standing beside Kael, and we both were standing with our backs pressed against the wall.
"Silas, you must be feeling uncomfortable with too, right after what Lysander had done to you."
So he’s feeling insecure, thinking that I’m feeling uncomfortable with him, but no, I’m not. Yes, what happened to was shocking, and it’s really horrifying, but I don’t feel uneasy with Kael right now. Instead, I’m feeling comfortable.
"Don’t think too much, Kael. You are my comfort zone," I said, smiling.
After that, we talked, laughed. I literally forgot everything with him. Kael is such a nice person, whom I feel very comfortable with. Even though he’s an alpha, whenever I’m with him, I forget that he’s an alpha. Because he doesn’t try to touch now, he doesn’t try to do anything with . He’s just a pure-hearted angel.
And just like that, the day passed, and the night arrived. As it arrived, I was sitting in the room, because yer and Orian had gone to the Main City to see the beautiful view, but I didn’t go with them, because it’s their date—how can I go?
But now, when I am alone in this room, I start to rember what Damon told —the childhood story that a ghost was on his friend’s back. It is really terrifying. I curled up on my knees and brought them near to my chest while hugging them.
It feels like the whole room has grown back, and this bed too. I’m feeling so small in front of this bed and this room. And I closed the door, of course. It’s not safe to keep it open. But... after closing it, when I sat down, I started to feel scared, like... soone else is there, staring at .
Now I want to go and open the door, but I’m very scared to do it. Because what if I co down from the bed and the ghost is under the bed and grabs by my leg and kills ?
Still, I can’t just sit there getting scared, that’s why I stepped down. While clenching my fingers on my thighs, I quickly ran toward the door. And when I opened the door, there was soone standing—and it was Theron. But seeing him, I still got scared.
"Aaaaaaa!" I fell down after screaming. I saw his face. I knew it was Theron. Still, my heart skipped a beat like it was a mini heart attack, and I fell down.
"Silas, are you okay?" Theron squatted down beside . My heart was beating so fast, and I was literally shaking in fear right now.
"I’m okay. I was really... scared." He offered his hand to stand up, and I grabbed it. But when I was about to stand up, I found that my legs had given up. They’re not ready to move. That’s how scared I am right now.
"Theron, I can’t stand up," I said while looking up at him.
He stood up and bent down while wrapping his hand around my back and my wrist. And he picked up like a koala.
I wrapped both hands around his neck very tightly and hugged him. He started to take steps toward my bed.
"Wait, Theron. I don’t want to go to bed yet. Let’s just go sowhere else. Can we?" He nodded.
And he brought out of the room in the sa position. But I don’t care what people will say seeing with him like this, because he is my mate. As we ca out, he took into the library.
I didn’t understand why he brought into the library. He was just walking. And my eyes were closed, so I didn’t see this coming. When I opened them, I was in the library.
He put down on the sofa after bringing in. As I sat and looked around, there were so many books. So many that I started to feel a headache. Because I’m not into studies, and not into books either. Reading gives a headache, and I fall asleep.
"Theron, can I ask, what are we doing here? Didn’t you find any other place?" I asked while judging those books with side eyes.
"I thought you would feel easier. That’s why I brought you here. I can read you books too."
"Yes, read it and do it fast, and read so nice stories to ."
Theron stood up and started to look around the shelves while picking up the books.
"I heard what Lysander did to you. I’m very sorry for this kind of behavior."
"It’s okay. It has nothing to do with you. But still, he is your brother. That’s why you’re apologizing."
And just then, Kael ca there and sat down beside . It was a shock for because I didn’t expect Kael to co here.
"Kael, what are you doing here?" I asked.
"I heard from a servant that Theron was walking in the hallway picking soone up like a baby. And I understood it was you. That’s why I asked the servant where you both went and ca after you."
What does it an by picking up like a baby? Those servants don’t know anything.
"Silas, you are alright, right?" Kael asked.
"Yes, I am. Totally." I rested my back on the sofa, and just then Theron also ca and stood beside my other side, and there was a book in his hand.
"Oh, it’s surprising to see you here, Kael," Theron said while holding my hand.
"What? Why? Can’t I co here? It’s a public library. Anyone can use this. Including too. So I ca. And Silas is my mate too. Not only yours."
Uh, these two—they were literally arguing about . When Theron grabbed my hand, Kael also did the sa. And they both were staring at each other like, who I belonged to. And in my mind, I thought I belonged to no one, but I didn’t say it out loud.
