Silas’s POV
"Now we’re not gonna ask for help from those people from the Temple," Theron’s father said.
"Are you out of your mind, honey? You want to kill my son, that’s why you’re saying all this, aren’t you?"
She was getting angry—of course she would.
After all, Theron’s condition was getting worse, and no one knew what was going to happen. And even in this situation, his father was being stubborn.
It’s great that Theron’s mother is still in her full senses—that she knows what to do and what not to do.
"Kara, go to the Temple right now and bring the priest or the saint from the Temple. Right now. Because I can’t see my son in this condition anymore," she ordered.
After hearing her orders, the King didn’t say anything. Instead, he was looking around, like he was silently saying—just do what she said to do.
"My lady, if it’s not too much, then can I ask—who is that kid?"
As that healer ntioned ’kid,’ I quickly rested my hand on Velric’s chest, because I knew he was talking about him. But why all of a sudden? Does he know that this Black Magic was on Velric first?
The healer and the Queen both turned toward Velric. And as they were glancing at him, their gaze was also on .
Just then, my eyes t with the healer’s—what was his na? Yes, Kara. As our eyes t, just from his expression, I knew.
He knows that this Black Magic was on Velric first, but Theron took it on himself to save Velric.
"Why did you ask? Does it have sothing to do with the child?"
"No, my lady, it’s nothing. I was just asking, seeing the child sleeping here."
I’m sure he knows why Theron is this sick, and where this Black Magic ca from. So why didn’t he say it in front of them?
"If you go alone, they might kill you, so I’ll co with you." Damon said.
"Your Highness, I think we should bring His Highness with us too, because who knows how much ti we’re going to take. If we take His Highness with us, we can at least pressure the Temple to heal him. And this way, we won’t waste much ti. Like, if we go now, and then co back bringing those people from the Temple—who knows what will happen to His Highness till then? We can’t take that risk."
What Kara said is indeed true, but we can’t take a risk by sending Theron with them—because who knows what could happen. I don’t think Theron’s mother and father would allow this.
"You are right, we can’t waste any more ti. Just take Theron with you. And that boy—what’s his na? Silas, too. Because Theron is fond of him. So if he’s with him, that would be better," she said.
What? She’s allowing them to take Theron with them? And too? It’s not like I’m complaining, but it’s... okay, I’ll go with Theron.
Kara and Damon helped Theron to stand up. He was still sleeping. He didn’t wake up, even as they moved him.
They both grabbed one of his hands and gave him shoulder support as they took him outside. I glanced at Velric, and I was about to pick him up.
Just then, Theron’s mother ca over.
"Leave this kid here. Because you’re going to the Temple, and there are so many forests. So, it wouldn’t be a nice idea to bring the child with you. I’ll take care of him here, don’t worry."
"But he starts to cry if he doesn’t see after waking up," I said.
Because I’ve seen how Velric is fond of —especially after waking up. If he doesn’t see , he cries like he did last ti.
"It’s okay. I have four sons, and they used to throw tantrums too when they were kids. So I can handle kids better than you, don’t you think?"
Well, she was right. It’s not like I would argue with her. And if she’s telling she’ll take care of Velric, then why would I say no?
So I nodded and bowed in front of her, then left the mansion. But I was still worried about Velric too.
As I ca out, I saw the car was ready, and Damon was waiting for . I was about to open the door of the backseat, then I heard—
"Silas, sit beside in the passenger seat. Let the healer sit beside Theron because he’ll try to heal him on the way," Damon said.
I glanced at the back seat. The healer was indeed sitting beside Theron, holding his hands.
So I quietly sat beside Damon in the passenger seat. As soon as I got in, Damon started driving.
After 5 minutes, I was glancing outside the window. We were still in the Bloodfang Pack, and it was going to take us more than 10 hours to reach there.
So I was hoping ti could pass quickly. And then, I felt a touch on my shoulder.
As I felt that touch, I turned around and saw it was Damon’s hand. While driving with one hand, with the other one, he touched my shoulder.
"Yes?"
"Silas, why don’t you take a nap? Because you didn’t fall asleep at all. You’re looking tired. Get so sleep—we still have so ti to reach there. When we get there, I’ll wake you up."
Well, I didn’t want to admit it, but I’m really sleepy. And kinda tired, too. But because of , Theron is in this condition.
That’s why I didn’t say anything about being tired. But when Damon asked to rest now, I didn’t refuse. I just closed my eyes while resting my back on the seat.
And when I closed my eyes, I didn’t even realize when I fell asleep.
The next thing I knew, I found myself standing in front of the sea—a blue, shining sea where the sound of the waves echoed beautifully, their soft, rhythmic crashing bringing a strange sense of peace to my heart.
But then, suddenly—
