Silas’s POV

After taking a bath, Velric and I returned from the bathroom. I had clothes, so I put them on, but then I noticed that Velric had none.

I had no idea what he was going to wear. It was so cold, and since we had bathed at night, this could be a problem if he caught a cold.

I quickly grabbed one of my small-sized t-shirts and dressed him in it, but it still didn’t feel satisfying. Just then, Theron opened the door and walked straight into the room.

"Oh, you two are done. The work outside is also finished. And since I knew you didn’t have any clothes for Velric, I asked my assistant to bring so."

I took the clothes Theron had brought and dressed Velric in them. He looked extrely cute. After that, I noticed his eyes were red—he was clearly sleepy.

I gently laid him on the bed and patted his chest. Within five minutes, he had fallen asleep.

Once he was asleep, I covered him with a blanket and quietly left the room with Theron. But as soon as I stepped out, my eyes widened in shock.

The living room was spotless—there was no trace of the bodies or blood. It was so clean, and even the sofas had been replaced.

I had no idea how he managed to do all of this in just a few hours. But judging by his behavior, I doubted he was involved with Kael in sending those n after .

When Kael and the others were questioning , Theron had been the only one taking my side and arguing with his own brother.

Theron sat down on the sofa, and I quietly sat beside him, waiting for him to speak first.

"You’re not hurt anywhere, right? Those n didn’t injure you, did they?" he finally asked.

"I’m fine. Don’t worry about . But tell —how did you find out that Kael sent those n after ? Did he tell you himself?"

"No, he didn’t. In fact, he didn’t tell any of us brothers. I found out on my own."

"But how? You make it sound like you were part of this plan too, but now you’re trying to distance yourself from it in front of ."

After what happened today, it was hard for to believe who was on my side and who wasn’t. Unless Theron gave a proper explanation, I couldn’t trust him completely.

Earlier, at Kael’s studio, I saw that none of them truly believed . If soone frad , they would rather believe that person and send people to torture . It was ridiculous. I didn’t think I could ever forgive Kael.

"Silas, you can trust . You can lean on . But I can’t tell you yet how I found out Kael sent those n—it’s a secret. But believe , he didn’t tell himself," Theron said firmly.

"Okay, I believe you. Okay. But what now? I just killed six n. Did you believe six n?"

It wasn’t that I felt nothing—I did. But I didn’t feel regret or guilt. It was just... strange. This was my first ti killing soone, and the feeling lingered, making uneasy.

"So what?" Theron shrugged.

"If you hadn’t killed them, you’d probably be in the sa position as them right now. You did a great job. I’m proud of you."

I didn’t expect to hear those words. Who tells soone they’re proud of them for killing people? It was strange.

Theron hadn’t called the police, despite seeing the bodies and the horrifying scene.

Anyone else would have reported imdiately, labeled as a psycho, a criminal, a murderer. But he didn’t.

And what about Orion? Did they find him?

"Did you find out anything about Orion?" I asked.

"No. We’re still searching. There are no traces, which makes it difficult. And since those three believe you’re involved in his kidnapping, it’s even harder. But I know you’re not. I believe you."

"Why do you believe ?"

"I don’t have a specific reason. I just know. From the bottom of my heart, I know you wouldn’t do sothing like that. You never hated Orion. You never saw him as your enemy."

It felt strange hearing that from Theron. But strangely... it also made happy.

"I know you’re angry at Kael," he continued.

"And I won’t tell you to forgive him. Never. He was wrong, and he should be punished. I’ll prove your innocence."

Theron kept talking after that—about how worried he was when he realized I had no phone, how he wondered who I could have called for help, what those n could have done to , and how he wasn’t sure he’d be able to face if sothing had happened.

Hours ago, when those six n attacked, I was lost. I didn’t even realize what I was doing until I saw the severed hands.

By the ti I ca to my senses, their bodies were already lifeless. My eyes widened in shock at what I had done.

But when I rembered what they were planning to do to Velric, I didn’t regret it.

Even if Theron had arrived earlier, it wouldn’t have helped. If I hadn’t been able to fight back, I would have relied on soone else’s strength. I wouldn’t have been able to protect myself or Velric.

But I did fight. Even though I lost control, I still fought back. And when I fight... I don’t hold back.

Well, it’s not bad to lean on soone, but I don’t have anyone to lean on. Soone I can fully trust, soone who will never betray . And it’s impossible to find this kind of person, so I will have to rely on myself only.

I glance at Theron; he was already looking at . His eyes... they were strange.

So, I started looking into his eyes, and within a few monts, I realized I was making eye contact with him which was so embarrassing.
