Silas’s POV
Just then, the door started shaking—like they were hitting it with sothing heavy.
I sat there, frozen in terror, my whole body trembling as the door rattled violently.
Velric tightened his grip on , his small hands clutching onto my clothes. He was terrified.
I had no idea what they were using to hit the door, but one thing was clear—whoever they were, they were determined to get in.
And the worst part? No one—not a single neighbor—was saying anything about the noise in the middle of the night.
Just as that thought crossed my mind, a powerful crash shook the entire room.
The door broke.
My eyes widened in horror. Soone had just broken into my house.
What could be more terrifying than this? Five—no, six—n stood there. Thugs.
Their big, muscular bodies, the scars on their faces, the way they carried themselves... everything about them scread danger.
These were not normal people.
I quickly stood up in a hurry—the door was broken, and they were already standing there. Who knew what their motive was?
I positioned myself in front of Velric, shielding him. No matter what, I had to protect him. As I looked at them one by one, they all stepped inside.
"Who are you, and why the hell did you break into my house?!"
I shouted, my voice shaking with anger and fear.
"Help! Sobody help!"
I scread, hoping—praying—that soone would hear and co to help.
But instead of hearing footsteps rushing toward , I heard sothing else—snickering.
I glanced at the n, and my blood ran cold. They were laughing at .
Like they knew—knew that no one was going to co.
"You whóre, scream as much as you want, ’cause no one is gonna co to help you."
Their words sent a chill down my spine. What did they an by no one was going to co?
"And who’s that little bastard hiding behind you? Do you even know who his father is?"
Another one sneered, his voice dripping with mockery.
"How would he know who the father is when he’s slept with countless Alphas?" soone else chuckled.
"He’s just a bitch who spreads his legs for anyone."
My fists clenched, my nails digging into my palms.
I didn’t care what they said about —but in front of Velric? They had no sha, no restraint.
I refused to give them the satisfaction of a response. Instead, I turned to Velric.
"Velric, go inside the bedroom and lock the door from inside."
But he shook his head, refusing to leave.
I knew why—he was worried about . But I was more worried about him.
"Didn’t you hear , Velric?" My voice turned firm. "Don’t make repeat myself."
And then—they pulled out their weapons. One man held a large knife—sharp, deadly.
Another had an oversized baseball bat resting on his shoulder. A third gripped a hamr—its head still covered in splintered wood. They used that to break down my door.
Another man had tal shackles dangling from his fingers. And the others... They had nothing.
But the way they were stared at —like I was prey—made my skin crawl.
"Hey, Master Kael said don’t kill him. Just torturing is enough. He said we can do whatever we want with him."
My breath hitched. Kael... sent them? Kael sent these thugs to torture ?
He’s really lost his mind. Just because he thinks I’m the culprit? Because of , Oriam was kidnapped and died?
So he’s convinced himself that I deserve this? That I should be punished?
What an asshole. I took a deep breath, pushing down the fury boiling inside .
"So, Kael is the one who sent you?" I muttered, my voice eerily calm. "Great. Then he must have offered you a lot of money."
No emotion showed on my face. Even if my heart was pounding, even if fear clawed at my throat— I refused to let them see it.
One of the n suddenly stepped toward without saying anything. I knew when Kael told them to do whatever they wanted, they would literally do whatever.
But if I really fought with these six n, I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to survive. Plus, they had weapons, which made it even riskier.
If I didn’t resist and let them torture , maybe my chances of survival would increase. They themselves said that Kael told them not to kill , just to torture .
I feel so pathetic. What the hell am I even thinking? Still, let’s leave everything to the Moon Goddess. If she really loves , then I will survive tonight without being tortured.
I grab Velric, put him inside the bedroom, and lock the door from the outside.
"Mumma... open the door, please, Mumma!"
"I hate Papa... he’s a baddie who wants to hurt my Mumma!"
Velric was crying and begging to open the door, but I had no choice. As I turned around after locking it, I saw them all standing right in front of .
This all happened so suddenly that I didn’t know what to do. I felt like I was going to die. What’s the use of my strength if I can’t fight against six n who have dangerous weapons?
"You sure got a pretty face, don’t you?"
One of the n said while touching my cheek with his baseball bat. My eyes glared at him as the six n surrounded . I felt weak in front of them, like they could eat alive.
This had never happened to before. I had never felt anything like this before.
I glanced around, searching for anything I could use to hit them. My eyes were on the door, hoping that soone—anyone—would co to help .
But my hope died as they threw to the ground. Two n grabbed my arms, pinning them down, while two others restrained my legs.
Then, another man stepped forward, his knife glinting under the dim light. Without hesitation, he started cutting my clothes.
I was froze in fear, my body trembling. I felt utterly helpless.
Tears dripped from my eyes as I closed them.
Just then, I heard a voice...
