Chapter 80: Chapter 79: Mu Lin Who Got on Soone’s Pirate Ship_1

Jing Chen led Mu Lin in a steady walk towards a certain direction. The path seed increasingly deserted as they advanced, and gradually, a lush green landscape unfolded before their eyes.

“Here?” Does this not seem like a dormitory?

Mu Lin glanced warily at the surroundings. It didn’t appear to be a place where people have resided for a long ti. “It’s desolate and eerily similar to my own place; Young Master Jing, you wouldn’t be harboring any sinister plans, would you?” Mu Lin joked, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she looked at Jing Chen.

After all, this place was awfully secluded.

“What if I said yes?” Jing Chen played along with her jest, displaying an uncommon amount of patience.

This place was his occasional retreat for rest and reflection. Aside from him, Mu Lin was the first guest here.

Jing Chen didn’t exactly know why he had brought Mu Lin here. He just had a feeling…compared to the dormitory, she would probably much prefer it here.

His keen attention to her preferences was beginning to rit a second look from Mu Lin.

With Mu Lin remaining silent, Jing Chen gently curved his lips to form a tiny smile. “Consider this my secret base.” He didn’t know why, but whenever Mu Lin joked with him, he always found himself playing along, despite not being one for humor.

For Jing Chen, Mu Lin was always exceptional; a statent that applied to his actions as well.

After a pause, Jing Chen continued: “What I an to say is, if you don’t like living in the dormitory with everyone else, you could stay here.” He wasn’t pushy about it, rely offering her another choice.

“There are two rooms inside, as well as a study and a bathroom. This is the key.” Having said that, he smoothly took out the key, which he had thoughtfully prepared beforehand, from his pocket and handed it to Mu Lin.

Without realizing it, he felt a sudden surge of nervousness well up inside him.

Would Mu Lin accept it?

Ti continued to slip away in the silence, and the next mont, Mu Lin suddenly smiled. Her fine, delicately pale fingers stretched out towards the key, their smoothness highlighted by the sunlight, looking particularly warm and appealing.

She took the key, “Thank you.” She didn’t plan to refuse.

Compared to those dormitories, she was certain that she would prefer a place like this, even before getting a proper look at it.

The lush greenery, so rich and verdant, she thought Qiaozi would also like it here.

She breathed an unconscious sigh of relief, “As long as you like it.”

As long as you like it! It was indeed a heartwarming phrase.

Mu Lin simply smiled in response.

Upon pushing the door open, the sight of the simple, graceful interior of the house was revealed before her. While very much belonging to its occupant alone, it still bore a unique style and aura.

It was undeniable; the place gave Mu Lin a great overall impression. Even though getting there had taken quite a bit of ti, to her, it didn’t matter at all.

“So what should I do next?” After a brief tour of the place, Mu Lin casually picked a chair to sit on, her gaze never leaving Jing Chen’s face. Acting like she had truly made herself at ho, she gave him an indescribably uplifting feeling.

“Training.” However, his face retained its impassivity, offering her no more explanation than just one word “training”.”

“Training?” Mu Lin was confused. “Training for what?” He hadn’t ntioned that she would need to undergo training before, has he? All of a sudden, Mu Lin felt a little uneasy, as if she might have embarked on a risky venture.

Indeed.

“You’re training together with this batch of newcors.” Jing Chen’s towering figure seed to cast an intimidating shadow, making Mu Lin appear incredibly vulnerable and in need of protection.

Mu Lin: “Is it still possible for

to withdraw from our partnership now?” Although she was curious about their training, it did not an she wanted to actively participate.

“Too late.” Jing Chen’s smile at the corner of his mouth looked exceptionally… irritating in Mu Lin’s eyes. “I’ve already submitted your registration. Later, I’ll take you to report in. You’ve already missed Five Days, from tomorrow, you need to join their training.”

Looking at Mu Lin’s frail figure, Jing Chen was genuinely worried whether she could manage to endure a single day of training. Internally debating whether he should inform the others to be… a bit gentle with her.

Indeed, he would have been more than willing to personally supervise her training. But the individuals Jing Chen ordinarily trained were tough cookies like Ying Sun and his group. If he were to train Mu Lin and went a tad too far, that could lead to dire consequences.

Although the newcors initially underwent strenuous training, they knew how to exercise restraint in their attacks. He had sohow picked up this knowledge from sowhere.

Later on, Jing Chen will learn that Mu Lin’s frailty was nothing more than a false impression. Then he would realize what it ans to be…. daunting.

Releasing a subtle sigh, Mu Lin decided not to say anything else.

Now that she had unwittingly wandered into this trick situation, she might as well stick around to broaden her horizons.
